The only good thing that came out of LOTR were those RTS games. Nothing else.
Harry potter is good [editline]29th May 2015[/editline] Well I loved it as a kid
Harry potter is good [editline]29th May 2015[/editline] Well I loved it as a kid
Is that really an unpopular opinion considering it's the most successful best-seller of all times?
What the fuck happened to empathy?
Is that really an unpopular opinion considering it's the most successful best-seller of all times?
Not that I've got anything against Harry Potter but sales numbers aren't an indication of quality. If they were, Limp Bizkit wouldn't have followed up a 6x platinum album with a 7x platinum album.
Here in the UK, and the USA too, I think our politics are so fucked that we might as well kill them all and start again.
Star Wars is the best sci-fi trilogy in film history aside from Back to the Future.
Star Wars isn't sci-fi.
Star Wars isn't sci-fi.
You're right, there's no science fiction to be found in spaceships, laser swords, blaster guns, inter planetary travel, or aliens
You're right, there's no science fiction to be found in spaceships, laser swords, blaster guns, inter planetary travel, or aliens
One could just argue that's all geography and engineering. There's almost no science at all.
One could just argue that's all geography and engineering. There's almost no science at all.
Engineers aren't scientists? What about cloning?
You're right, there's no science fiction to be found in spaceships, laser swords, blaster guns, inter planetary travel, or aliens
It's Science Fantasy, it uses sci-fi elements, but that's about it.
Star Wars is a fantasy/western with a Sci-Fi setting so yea it's definitely not Hard Sci-Fi but I'd still call it sci-fi as like a primary tag.
this whole thing just feels like you guys are splitting hairs to me
I'd say its futuristic tech, space travel, and alien life as well use using cliche stuff like spaceships etc is enough to call it sci-fi
sci-fi is more than just lasers and spaceships.
sci-fi is more than just lasers and spaceships.
Like? (Actually curious what your definitions are)
Science fiction is super hard to define, but here I go. Good scifi is about humans dealing with change, either because of tech or natural means. Pretty much "what if?" but totally grounded.
A lot of people find it funny to actively seek out people with uncommon fetishes and make fun of them for laughs. It happens pretty much everywhere including here.
This really goes for anything that someone dislikes. They have this monumentally retarded habit of seeking the subject of their dislike out just so they have something to complain about or something. It's extremely stupid.
While I do think Konami is an absolute trainwreck of a company, having Hideo Kojima in charge of a horror game, and a Silent Hill one at that, could've only ended in disaster.
Star Wars is the best sci-fi trilogy in film history aside from Back to the Future.
The lego videogames told the story better than the movies.
Why do all internet nerds hate on vaporizers? Don't give me the "everyone who vapes acts like x / does x. That's a cop out. I think that vaporizers are a pretty smart and even noble invention. It's like an alternative to getting lung cancer. I obviously believe the shit should be regulated properly. If the science shows they are as harmless as they're made out to be, is that not a significant new invention to get people to quit smoking cigarettes?
isn't that like a really significant new invention to get people to quit smoking cigarettes?
Strange to see big tobacco and the anti-smoking lobby on the same side.
"what if people had magic powers and laser swords"
except Star Wars isn't about that.
What the fuck happened to empathy?
I disagree with your opinion. [sp]i think you're posting in the wrong thread[/sp]
i'm glad that the Silk Road guy got life in jail
McDonalds is good. Especially their breakfast menus.
McDonalds is good. Especially their breakfast menus.
Their chips are awesome. Their hashbrowns are pretty decent too (although apparently I'm the only one on this earth that likes them).
Vernon Roche > Iorveth (The Witcher 2) Fergus > Wyatt (Wolfenstein :TNO) but on a slightly more serious note, as much as I think Bloodborne is a good game, some of it's bosses and areas suffer from the same problems that dark souls 2 had in enemy placement.
Muslims are alright.
it's depressing that this is actually an unpopular opinion.
School needs to make some exceptions in attendance for kids with kids. I understand it's their responsibility, but most of them are working off either to pay for medical bills or rent for their shithole apartment, so of course they're going to miss days. At least, that's how it is in my area.
