Tbh I could go my whole life without eating another, I don't hate them but they aren't that great.
i didnt enjoy skyrim at all
Bethesda should've withheld Fallout 4 until the Void Engine (powered by Id Tech) was ready.
That Fallout 4 trailer looks terrible, it looks like another generic post apocalyptic game with some Fallout stuff thrown in.
I bet if you take all the eyebots and supermutants out of the trailer you would never guess that it was a Fallout game.

It's colourful, which is strange.
I didn't actualy pick anything up that would suggest a good or bad game. Liking the diverse scenery though.
I do like that actually, it's nice to see that's not just fucking green like Fallout 3 was.
Fallout 4, from the trailer, looks average and I bet it'll play like vanilla Skyrim.
Fucking terribly.

I'm completely reserving myself for actual gameplay on release, not whatever scripted bullshit they have at E3

Are you, by any chance, a praying mantis?
Regarding the new Steam refund policy, I sympathise with people that make <2 hour games that might be getting screwed over by this. They're the videogame equivalent of a short film.
30 seconds though, that's a bit ridiculous to me.
Sex isn't that great
With the right companion, IT IS THE FUCKING BEST. Try to change things up. :zoid:
I simply can't get into Oblivion because it's too fucking UGLY. I mean, not generic sort-of okay looking for its time, there's just something about Oblivion to me that makes it especially ugly. It might be the close ups of the 3 different voices of walking potato for each gender that throws me off.
Sex isn't that great
I agree, cuddling's way better
i think its pretty stupid that people are judging a game from its first trailer
i think its pretty stupid that people are judging a game from its first trailer
It really shows that they were biased against it to begin with, I think. Nobody reasonable just starts whining about "Oh wrong engine no buy" "oh written by Bethesda no buy" if they actually wanted it. Ignoring how there's no confirmation on either things yet, too.
Basically, crybabies kneejerking because of a hateboner for Bethesda.

If you still have any interest in the game, there's a mod to replace the faces with half-decent morphs. No more Potatoes: Oblivion Character Overhaul

I can sort of understand the hateboner for Bethesda though
I mean they sorta did fuck a lot of things up in FO3 and Skyrim, and never have been known for being the greatest writers.

But to the point of deeming a game worthless based on a 3 minute trailer? I don't deny Bethesda has problems, but that's just extreme. It just feels very entitled to me, like because it somehow didn't blow them away instantly, it's instantly terrible.
More impressive numbers are less restrictive on creativity.
Potentially, but they're not inherently conjunctive to it. Nowadays everyone goes on about texture sizes, polycounts, and resolutions but modern games are still often topped by titles like Half-Life 2 and its expansions (2004-2007) in terms of facial expressions and environment composition, SNES Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger (1995) in terms of storytelling, and Shovel Knight (2014 but made to simulate NES stylings) in terms of demonstrating mechanics. Good numbers can give the potential to make better games, but good developers and good design philosophies will make better games.

yeah
and honestly my impressions from the trailer were pretty good. Like holy shit, it has COLOR

Uh the game being developed by Bethesda pretty confirmed. The trailer does say "Bethesda Game Studios".
I don't think it's wrong to have different expectations depending on who's making the game. And obviously people who say "no buy" are still keeping an eye on the game, they're not making their definitive decision now.

They are, though. There are people who are literally decided to buy the game or not based on the 3 minute preview we got.
I never liked seriously modding any of my games. I have played through Oblivion, Skyrim, and Fallout many times and never felt like I needed to.
I'm not saying that modding is dumb, but there's just something about it that never really appealed to me.
The appeal of modding is only apparent when you've begun.
The appeal of modding is only apparent when you've begun.
I mean, I have installed mods before. Like lighting, UI mods, and various fixes, but after a while I usually just go back to the vanilla game.
As stupid as it sounds, I just like playing the base game more for some reason. :v:
That being said though, the only mod that I still use regularly is DSfix and that's mainly just to uncap the framerate.
People are generally too negative about everything now

Thats the point of Fallout grr... add me on Skype.com so I can scream at you.
i agree with him though, fallout has never struck me as unique as far as post apocalyptic universes go, the style just seems so... basic?

It's supposed to be a pastiche. (It's supposed to look bad.)
