Republicans would all be hitlers in their own right would they think they can get away with it. From the outside perspective; They're utterly insane. from the inside perspective: they're still insane. They're genuinely fascist. They spread propaganda. They instill nationalist values. They mercilessly try to crush anything that doesn't help the 1%ers who fund them. It's a miracle that this 'land of the free' has such tyrants.
Then again my country isn't that wise either. Our prime minister is openly evil.

Either the ballot was fixed, or we have a nation of gullible fools. Then again first past the post is a terrible system that makes the issue significantly worse. But just LOOK at how evil this guy looks. He's practically palpatine.
also your teacher is probably pretty awful if they'd shake your hand for saying something like that.
Open world developing is ONE way to make a videogame, not THE way to make a videogame

If Sanders gets elected his biggest issue will be that he won't be able to successfully do half the shit he wants to do. And that's simply because he'll be fighting Congress every step of the way. Both Republicans and Democrats will oppose a lot of what he'll try to do.
And thats when the American population take back their democracy and make it political suicide to oppose him.
I think americans have too many guns.
No one over here would disagree with me but I'd guess a lot of FP'ers would. I mean I shot guns before and it's really fucking cool but still the cons outweight the pros.

Tbh our whole culture of paranoia I disagree with
Though at the very least gun ownership has been going down for quite awhile

That'd definitely help but it'll never happen unfortunately.
If i have to be _completely absolute_ I think the future officially began with the agricultural revolution over 10,000 years ago.
While I do love Daft Punk, I feel like they are a little over rated.

I know this may be a shocker to some, but not everyone is a democrat/liberal. Just because you're not getting your way politically at the current time doesn't mean the system is broken.
However, there are some flaws with our system, just like how there are some good things about our system. The biggest is how much money campaigning for office really takes; and the amount of time it takes - something that non-incumbents don't have.
I like Pendulum even though most of their music is the same shit over and over more or less.
I see no reason why games like Fallout, or Grand Theft Auto, can't visit foreign locations, and frankly, I don't see why American culture is apparently always so fucking important that any game that touches it can't go anywhere else. You never hear people going 'Oh, Doctor Who can't possibly visit anywhere but the UK!'
Europe is usually the most talked about one. Here's the thing. Europe also had a 1950s, and a 1960s, and a now, and things happen there too. They have their own cultures and governments just like the US does. Now there's some things that are issues, like gun laws with GTA obviously is problematic, but I think Rockstar and Bethesda can probably find something to satirize about Europe. I think all the Howard's horses and all the Howard's men can find a way to satirize Europe. So can Rockstar. I mean, Christ's sake, the team that developed GTA V is Scottish.
I think they can apply their methods to create something that, yes, is different, but still has the same feel and the same quality as normal GTA, or normal Fallout, or normal anything. They're smart people. They can comprehend and handle not-America.
I think it is just where they come, it's just easier to build a game in their own culture rather than research another. When it comes to books most of the "great American authors" didn't write about say, a poor person going through the French revolution. They could, if they were up to doing the research, which they occasionally did. But it's just more comfortable to base it on their own culture.
Audience might also have an influence, but I don't have numbers on me so I can't quite support it.
well gta is and has always been about satirizing big budget crime movies and pop culture, and there's no place where those things are more influential and widespread than in america (i mean of course every country has its own pop culture im saying that america's has a much bigger influence on the rest of the world)

and fallout is about cold war nuclear paranoia and again no other country's culture condensed that mindset as well as the US
MOBA games are insanely boring. I don't see the appeal at all.
MOBA games are insanely boring. I don't see the appeal at all.
i never understand it when people say this. i don't like horror or point and click games but i can clearly see the appeal
mobas are for people who want a faster and more straightforward experience than an RTS but still enjoy formulating strategies and working as a team
Screaming in songs is actually pretty talented. People that dislike the heavier genres that involve screaming find it terrible and untalented and mindless nonsense.
In some cases, it is, but theres a lot of bands out there that scream in their songs and it makes the song so much more powerful and emotional. You feel the lyrics so much stronger than you would with just the words being said harmonically.
I am the same way with death metal. Kills me when people say all it is is screaming and yelling and offbeat instruments. Like damn, have you ever looked into death metal?
Same with Mathcore.
People think its just mindless guitar playing, but it really isnt, its strategic.
GTA may be largely about poking fun of 'merican culture... but sleeping dogs was still a top game. I think that kind of game only works in half the world, because half the world doesn't have that much crime, or cultures that have enough flaws to satirize (for a lot of them, the cultural satire would be on imported american shit)
The fallout series could do extremely well to be somewhere else for a bit. The problem is, if you made fun of comunist china in a post apocalyptic future, you'd be making an game that is at moments extremely racist, probably going to piss of the current government, and really say something about america (because the other countries probably got their acts together where america didn't. Either to the values of colectivism or just geographic location (Eurasia would be in varying states of damage, as opposed to the full destruction of american owned north america. The USA in the fallout universe fucks over canada, though I can't remember what happened to mexico)

There are plenty of nations that have light restrictions on weapons and they do perfectly fine. America's issue is the weird cultural obsession with firearms combined with the ultra-extreme levels of inequality that cause huge amounts of crime and general unhappiness. Collectively as a nation (not individuals) the USA isn't mature enough about weapons

I agree with this so much that a simple agree rating doesn't cut it. The main issue with gun crime isn't the guns, but the disparity of wealth. People in the US are driven to crime because you've got an extremely individualistic culture were people try desperately to get wealth, with no care for the poor. creating a society where crime is considered a legitimate capitalist means to acquire wealth. As it stands, removing guns and gun crime from the US would only increase the amount of knife crime (and beatings from baseball bats)

Kills me when people say all metal is all the same, or that it's all growling screamo shit

Like this is obviously completely different from 'normal' metal but then they just call me a hipster :v:
I can understand confusion with genres though, there's so many different genres of metal that I myself just boil it down to 'metal' most of the time unless it's really REALLY stand out
Melodic death metal is the best type of metal
I'm a lot more excited about Dishonored 2 than Fallout 4.

Because of some reason people think saying "I don't see the appeal" makes themselves cooler and above other people.
[editline]19th June 2015[/editline]
Also, anyone that says no MOBAs have a chance against LOL and DOTA2 are wrong. Plain wrong. MOBAs that try and do EXACTLY what those games do? Sure. But MOBAs that change the formula enough have a place and anyone denying that is just plain silly.
It's like saying no other FPS games have a place because CoD exists. That no other open world game has a place because GTA5 exists. It's daft.

It's much better to admit that something is just not for you than to declare it objectively shit
Sex scenes on movies are pointless.
