I loved the plot and I thought that the gameplay clashed too much with it.
I enjoyed it's gameplay for what it was. I went in expecting it to work like the first game with a few additions and tweaks, and that's what I got. But story-wise it seemed to take a nosedive the moment they started dwelling on parallel world hopping. If they had focused on world building instead like fleshing out the city's various districts, the philosophies of the two factions, and made the sky-rails more of a critical factor, it could have been great.
I don't see the point in gaming keyboards outside of super move macros for 2D fighting games.

These posts are so fucking annoying. They're everywhere in this thread so obviously it must be 'POPULAR' to post this every time somebody says something.

"unpopular"
Here's an unpopular opinion, Infinite is my favorite of the trilogy and I think the first one has aged rather poorly.
"aged poorly"?
The only thing Infinite kept about the original was the horrible shooting, and did barely anything to improve it.

All three bioshocks are great, but I love the second one way more than the other two. But the first one comes close because of how amazing Frank Fontaine is as a villain.
[editline]24th January 2015[/editline]
he's easily in my top five favorite villains list
Boneless Bites are best enjoyed without sauce
I don't give a shit about actors or the Hollywood scene one bit. I have no idea who my friends are talking about when they mention actors by name.
"aged poorly"?

I think the gameplay in infinite is significantly worse than the original game personally. Only being able to carry 2 weapons at a time, too much focus on shooting for the kinda clunky combat, plasmids were ruined by having too many of the same kind of thing etc. Infinite's combat was just the same as the first only way more messy and convoluted, and focused too much on it whereas while the original was certainly focused on combat it wasn't the core and for the most part they didn't force in setpieces of ridiculous amounts of combat that do nothing but create a dissonance between gameplay and story- bioshock did well at melding the two, and towards the end created one of video game's greatest moments by directly using that interaction and blending of mechanics and narrative, whereas infinite was just... Progress the story, shoot a fuck tonne of enemies that drags on too long, more story, then more boring action. I had to force myself to finish infinite cos it was such a slog but I was sad when the first finished cos it was so good and I've completed it several times over the years.
I think for the next year or so Russian FPers are just going to be the ass end of every joke every time one of them makes a dumbass post like that

Wow-wow-wow, easy there big guy. I thought this thread was called "unpopular opinions".
"Oh look, he's from Russia, and he's said something against LGBT, better vote 'dumb' against him quick." That's really mainstream and popular you know.
Let me assert my argumentation to make it easier to comprehend:
Personally I have nothing against homosexuality, it's their choice and their life. I DO disapprove it (or wait, you're not allowed to have opinion on things now?) but at least I'm respecting other people's freedom of choice.
What I have problem with is certain elements within LGBT and homosexuals in general.
For example if they are gay why must they flaunt it into my face? Do I really need this? Tolerance or not, I'm sure nobody would like if something they dislike get's constantly interfering with them. Nobody flaunts that they are hetero, and if you even try it you're called a misogynistic bigot asshole or something, so why that kind of behavior is okay for them?
Also, suppose if some man is constantly trying to get into pants of another woman it's called sexual harassment and is considered bad.
But why if gay man tries the same thing to another heterosexual man it's suddenly not. And, yes, you can't say to him to go away because that's homophobic and oppressing to his right to freedom of expression or something.
Also a some of people that I know have this, I dunno, some smug behavior like they are superior only because they are gay despite being in every other aspect a really shitty human beings. And if you tell them that they are being rude or something, yes, you are suddenly homophobic shit.
Again, how is this OK?
All this combined plus the fact that, frankly, gay people somehow became 'more equal' in rights and they constantly demanding more only adds to my dislike of them.
This is why I told that there are gay people and there are faggots.

Heterosexuality/Heteronormativity is literally smushed into people's faces in advertising for the simplest, most non-sexual things every day, and you're going to complain about gay people having a parade? While treating it as being thrown in your face?
Here's the epitome of unnecessarily sexualized advertising:

This is for a burger at Burger King. There are countless other advertisements and pieces of media entertainment that enforce the idea of heteronormativity and man+woman sexual relationships, while having no mention of other sexual orientations (or at least heterosexuality is treated as the main one, while the others are just extras.) Your mindset is pretty commonplace, the kind of person that has never experienced any degree of blatantly violent (physical or verbal) prejudice or oppression, that you're just an outsider that doesn't understand what's happening to the people who are on the receiving end of the oppression. You don't get it, and you are uninformed, so you just end up not caring about how they feel or what they have to say about the system that's against them. You just don't want to hear or see them, or else it'll clash with your bubble of comfort.
You can't just shit on an oppressed group of people and then act like them expressing themselves, expressing the freedom to simply express themselves the way they want to, is a bad thing.
Why else would they be demanding rights? Because they have had a history of having any amount of basic human rights stripped from them, just because they're gay. Just because the commonplace religion of a state/country deemed homosexuality a sin, or the people in government considered it "unnatural" or "not right", and then people think they have the green light to seek out and destroy gay people.

Reminds me of that dumb racist spiel about how there are black people and there are niggers.

No! D:
Private torrent trackers suck ass.
I actually kinda like the new design of FP. General Discussion is now actually useful instead of having eight different subforums that almost never get used except for 2-3 threads
I never really found the gun mechanics in Deus Ex or System Shock 2 to be outdated or clunky (especially not SS2's), just different. Especially for Deus Ex, they just required a change of pace for the gunplay.
I love filler episodes in tv shows. Any time in a show where the characters don't do much but just be them and interact with each other, it tends to be one of my favorite episodes. For instance I like the episodes of TNG where the characters are just chilling in Ten Forward or playing poker or using the holodeck or whatever far more then when they're down on alien planets and shit.

I would honestly prefer the crew to spend an entire episode on the holodeck or Ten Forward than to see another episode where the crew/the ship gets infected with something for the dozenth time and they go through the same exact formula or routine in order to save the day.

i love it when prejudiced people try to hide that they're prejudiced by tip-toeing around keywords
if you disapprove of homosexuality, you DO have something against LGBT people. you're a homophobe, there's no way out of it
Reminds me of that dumb racist spiel about how there are black people and there are niggers.
To be honest (and I'm saying this as someone who isn't completely straight) I kinda buy that. Instead of completely banning words like faggot or nigger, we should instead shift their meanings to be generic insults
kinda like how when you call a women a whore or a bitch you don't automatically insult an entire gender, just a one specific individual that pissed you off somehow
consider this my unpopular opinion for this thread
pda is fucking disgusting no matter your gender, age or sexual orientation
What is pda?
Public Display of Affection.
Or Personal Digital Assistant.
