Well.... exactly haha. The definition of selfless has changed over the years, it used to mean doing something that didn't benefit you in anyway, but now its just something where you're a bit more into someone elses needs over your own. We're a selfish race.
I'd argue that because of the personal benefit we get from helping others, we're not a selfish race
I've said it before and i'll say it again. There is no 100% selfless good deeds.
idk somebody sacrificing their life to save somebody else counts as being pretty damn selfless to me
I don't like Valve, at all.
Nightcall is Kavinsky's only good track everything else he does is forgettable
Nightcall is Kavinsky's only good track everything else he does is forgettable
odd look
I think Facepunch Studios really sucks at making games.
Telling someone "well you should have already seen it" as an excuse for spoiling something is fucking stupid. I was just spoiled to huge portions of Season 4 of GoT, and they just acted like "well you should have already seen it, it's a year old"
You're referring to the political ideology that says business intervention is bad and government ran organizations should be sold or dissolved not 'don't spy on your citizens' right?
Among other even less sane ideas. Libertarianism is built on the idea that everything we know about people, business, and economics, is completely wrong, despite there being no evidence in their support and mountains of it to the contrary.
While I can see the appeal, I never understood why Half Life got as much praise as it did as a series. They're okay.
Half-Life 1 is good because it's a simple story without any unneeded frills: Escape Black Mesa, which leads into Stop the Nhilanth. It's simple and that's why it works. You run around, kill a bunch of monsters, occasionally stop to talk to a scientist for a minute or two, then go right back to some more killing. Half-Life 2 tries to make way too much out of that simple story with all these characters and interactions between them and stuff and it just falls flat on it's ass. I hate replaying HL2 if for no other reason then the fucking half hour cutscenes in which you have to stand around watching these boring characters do boring things. I literally could not care less about Alyx or Mossman or whoever, I want to shoot aliens and save the world. It doesn't help that the guns in HL2 are some of the most anemic and least satisfying weapons in any FPS I've played. The pistol feels like a potato gun and the SMG sounds like Airsoft. All the character drama in HL2 just makes me cringe, too. Alyx and Mossman's spat at black mesa east, [sp]Eli's death,[/sp] it's just completely uninteresting to me. The only reason I remember any of the characters is because there are so few. Also the argument that HL2 has no cutscenes is bullshit, they're cutscenes with another name. You can walk around and look at some stuff, but you still have to sit and wait for the NPCs interacting to finish before you can move on.
You're referring to the political ideology that says business intervention is bad and government ran organizations should be sold or dissolved not 'don't spy on your citizens' right?
It's also the political ideology that wants to remove the civil rights act and minimum wage, and also remove regulations that keep the big companies of the world from polluting us into extinction.
Net neutrality needs a TF2 promo because people care more about cosmetic items in a video game than they care about internet privacy and avoiding tiered internet services similar to the ones from Canada.
computer games are a great distraction. If it weren't for them, i'm sure we would have had a dozen revolutions between now and the 90's.
The US government never claimed the invasion of Iraq was primarily about nuclear weapons, they claimed it was about chemical weapons (something that it is proven the Hussein government had and was using on civilians), the media made up the idea that the focus was nukes because the government statements just said "Weapons of Mass Destruction" (which includes Nukes, Chems, and others) and they thought mentioning nukes would sell headlines.
I miss Windows XP
Kanye's All Day single is pretty terrible.
Kanye's All Day single is pretty terrible.
fuck you said [editline]25th June 2015[/editline] tbh i only like it live, studio version isnt very nice imo since his voice is kinda deadpan. live version is great because you hear him getting into it. [editline]25th June 2015[/editline] personally I like Wolves better, if not a bit short
I don't mind that Doom 4 will have executions.
I don't get why people love spicy food so much. To me it's just unpleasant to eat. Given the choice I'll almost always eat mild or non-spicy food.
I don't get why people love spicy food so much. To me it's just unpleasant to eat. Given the choice I'll almost always eat mild or non-spicy food.
I'd rather taste my food than feel the burning sensation of my mouth and feel the need to down pints of water.
probably for the challenge novelty of it
Spicy food is great, but I have my limits. Never understood why people go out of their way to find the hottest hot sauce ever and put it on their food. It just takes away from the enjoyment of the food.
It tastes nice, and it tastes of something. Salsa sauce doesn't really taste like much (to me) if it's not hot. There's not really much to understand. It's just accepting.
no one cares that you watch Game of Thrones, no one cares you're upset about that person that died in it. The media coverage of GoT is gross, I feel like I don't even need to watch the show at all now, as soon as I check Facebook after an episode has aired I'm inundated with massive amounts of news coverage and memes that follow it.
I really hope I will be proven wrong, but I really think VR is not going to be revolution people think it is going to be. No matter how immersive it is motion sickness, inherent limitation in the games that can translate well into a VR environment, number of companies making VR products leading to split development and most of all the cost of having to buy an additional peripheral is going to make it a cool gadget but not something that will be found in every home. (Also as asocial video games are/can be, there is something even worse about strapping a screen to your eyes. It is as if every sci-fi horror prediction from the past 40 years is going to come true) [editline]25th June 2015[/editline]
no one cares that you watch Game of Thrones, no one cares you're upset about that person that died in it. They are good shows no doubt but I kinda feel like they are getting blown way out of proportion. They are not pieces of art that will last centuries.
I'm a fan of Star Fox, but for some reason I can't shake off the feeling that Star Fox Zero is going to flop hard.
I'm a fan of Star Fox, but for some reason I can't shake off the feeling that Star Fox Zero is going to flop hard.
I loved Star Fox Adventures even though barely anybody liked it.
The Borderlands series has my favourite gaming universe, it's just a crying shame that most of the games don't do that world justice.
I'm a fan of Star Fox, but for some reason I can't shake off the feeling that Star Fox Zero is going to flop hard.
A LOT of people who played it at E3 have said it controls like shit. Gyroscopic aiming is very difficult to pull off and the one game that really did it well (Splatoon) still allows you to disable it if you want. It also just looks like Star Fox 64 with no real improvements. Platinum should have made the new Star Fox game, instead they're just doing modelling for the game.
I don't get why people love spicy food so much. To me it's just unpleasant to eat. Given the choice I'll almost always eat mild or non-spicy food.
I'm totally the opposite, I feel like spiciness can bring out the flavor really nicely if used reasonably and that a lot of "mild" versions of dishes taste bland without it. I guess you just need a tolerance for it.
I think Facepunch Studios really sucks at making games.
[sp]Technically facepunch would not be so successful with out the backing of garrysmods community, since the game is pretty much fully community ran, even to the people working on it.[/sp] [editline]25th June 2015[/editline] [sp]Basically, Garry owes us money[/sp]
