That's a terrible screenshot of Skyrim, you're using the weather to say it's darker than Oblivion?
Well it's not like I can display the dullness and slog that Skyrim can have very well with a simple image, and it's not like other screenshots help it much. [t]http://www.giannipc.com/josh/guide/sr_atlas_8b-007.jpg[/t][t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/54123195/skyrimjob.jpg[/t] The game is predominantly covered in grey, often even on sunny days, the lighting is awful with buildings often being clinically floodlit by anonymous light sources, and everything is just desaturated as hell, and yes, this is a problem that affects how the game feels at every turn. Yes, you can mod it to be bright and colorful and shit, but that doesn't count. Dungeons are often railroaded and strictly tied to questlines limiting freedom, magic is fucking neutered giving you jack shit that's actually cool like water walking or jumping across the world like you used to have or making stupid fucking enchantments like boots of blinding speed just because (the enchantment system itself is an entirely boring neutered slog in and of itself that I could go on and on about) And beyond that, what, the writing? I'll sum up the writing for you: "Everyone's an asshole, and racist, the end. Humans are racist against elves, elves are racist against humans, dragons are racist against humans and humans are racist against dragons ([sp]the Blades[/sp]), nobody's right, everyone sucks, we're all going to die, fuck you, go home, this is modern fantasy, bitch." [editline]e[/editline] the richest enchanters in the land dress like dirty homeless people for fuck's sake
Skyrim was way too desaturated.
The next TES game better be in Hammerfell or Elswyr (spelling?), it would be a much needed change of scenery.
Every game so far has been forest. if Bethesda kept to lore, then Oblivion would've at least been rainforest, but they made it generic fantasy Europe instead.
I just didn't like how there were 5 voice actors
I can't stand playing Oblivion because of the small amount of VAs
good thing the ost makes up for it
Battlestar Galactica 2004 is really boring.
Skyrim isn't one big field of grasslands and has like 15 voice actors, twice as much as oblivion. Also, people don't look like potatoes, your guy can run diagonally and combat is tolerable. It's more than enough for me to find it much better than oblivion.
Extremely desaturated, industry-worst LoD models, hilariously bad shadows, stretched textures that don't even fit the objects properly and are otherwise low-res. In my opinion, vanilla Skyrim is one fucking ugly game. I was legitimately shocked when I installed it and started playing it. The game takes place in (in my opinion) one of the most beautiful natural environment sets in the world and they made it look like a used coffee filter soaked in dishwater.
good thing the mod support was there, the community has done one hell of a job improving it
I think that's what I liked about morrowind so much too, they replaced voices with text if I recall correctly. it's the elder scrolls game I've least played
Battlestar Galactica 2004 is really boring.
Congratulations. An actual unpopular opinion. [editline]23rd February 2015[/editline] but you're still wrong
Congratulations. An actual unpopular opinion. [editline]23rd February 2015[/editline] but you're still wrong
Watched all 4 seasons last week, didn't like it at all. Name something that was good about it.
good thing the mod support was there, the community has done one hell of a job improving it
They really shouldn't have to though it will be a cold day in hell before bethesda stop using that fuck ugly broken piece of trash engine, fallout and ES could have been so much more
I liked Oblivion, in fact, I might even like it more than Skyrim. This opinion seems to be growing more and more unpopular by the day, and I think it's mostly because people just have this weird thing that they do where they play a game, love it, get bored, get bitter, and then hate it. People have done that with all the Bethesda games, with Minecraft, GTA IV, and with numerous others. Although I fully recognize that some people don't like Oblivion because they just don't like it. I dunno, I just love how free Oblivion is. It feels so lighthearted and adventurous, which in TODAY'S FANTASY IS SORELY LACKING feels like the only fantasy series left with a smile on their face are god damn Fable and World of Warcraft
Remember when Elder Scrolls looked like this? To some it may just be too generic but I like it more than "blehhh everything is so desaturated and bleak, my wife looks like an inside-out sphincter, my kids have smallpox and our house's floor is made of anal mucus" Though the Khajiit in the first two games just looked sketchy. They weren't even cats, they were just regular humans with face paint and tails. [editline]24th February 2015[/editline] I think the Khajiits in the first two games might've just been a subrace that were originally cats but then evolved and somehow ended up looking quite a lot like humans.
I fucking hate the theme song of the Lion King I enjoy the movie but fuck that song
I fucking hate the theme song of the Lion King I enjoy the movie but fuck that song
i hope you dont mean circle of life that shit is fucking amazing
I fucking hate the theme song of the Lion King I enjoy the movie but fuck that song
You mean the one that goes like "HAAAAAA NSSSAMWWAAA BBLLBBLWAA?" I'm not exactly sure what the lyrics are, but I think that's what it sounds like. Either way I hate the song as well.
The whole "racism is human nature and shouldn't be looked down upon and everybody is a racist" argument is a load of bullshit.
Watched all 4 seasons last week, didn't like it at all. Name something that was good about it.
Character development, moral ambiguity, soundtrack, visuals...
Tofu is great, and I cannot understand why it is that some people hate it
"I'm going to nightclubs and fucking people"
Idk why people on the internet always complain about songs like this, they aren't really meant for casual listening, they are for getting hyped up as you go to a party or club with your friends and they do a great job at that. Like no ones going to put on some classical music when they drive to a party lmfao.
Skyrim isn't one big field of grasslands and has like 15 voice actors, twice as much as oblivion. Also, people don't look like potatoes, your guy can run diagonally and combat is tolerable. It's more than enough for me to find it much better than oblivion.
I can play Oblivion and Morrowind forever even though the combat isn't up to par but the atmosphere and writing in those games is 500 times better then Skyrim. No matter how long I wait until I go back to play it, no matter what mods I get to make Skyrim better looking or more immersive and such, as soon as you try to do any quest you run into it's biggest and not moddable problem, that all the quests are shit and shallow. All the guild quests were the biggest disappointment in Skyrim they are a joke compared to Oblivions, Oblivion sure could be ugly and the combat trash but it was immersive and the quests were pretty fucken awesome. You can put 4k textures in Skyrim and fucken all your quests are still go through generic cave and kill draugur
Skyrim was way too desaturated.
Too many modern games rely on desaturation and color grading to set their tone and it just ends up making them look extremely visually boring regardless of actual graphics quality. Real life may be very brown depending on the area (or very grey in metro areas) but as a whole it's still really vibrant and colorful.
The whole "racism is human nature and shouldn't be looked down upon and everybody is a racist" argument is a load of bullshit.
It is human nature but that doesn't make it okay. Just because it's understandable that it happens doesn't mean we should accept it, otherwise we'll never get past it and it will continue being an issue that holds us back.
The whole "racism is human nature and shouldn't be looked down upon and everybody is a racist" argument is a load of bullshit.
Biotruths are the worst when it comes to social behavior
If you have dreads/man bun, and you aren't Jamaican/a pre-18th century samurai, stop.
The whole "racism is human nature and shouldn't be looked down upon and everybody is a racist" argument is a load of bullshit.
You can safely disregard almost any argument that uses the term "human nature"
If you have dreads/man bun, and you aren't Jamaican/a pre-18th century samurai, stop.
People on the internet care maybe a bit too much how people look Unless you wear rainbow coloured clothing, trench coats or gothic lolita dresses, literally nobody cares what you look like on the streets. Dreadlocks are really unoffensive and don't attract attention at all, theres worse hairstyles out there Manbuns + sidecut combination looks god awful tho

Dreadlocks are perfectly fine but only obviously work on blacks, srsly every white guy with dreads gives off the white trash look it's horrible. But really it's the opposite, the internet gives that mentality of "go outside and dress however you want no one cares!" (but that might be cause the internet is the crowd to go out in trench coats and such) but yeah people in RL are going to care more about how you dress, sure you won't get any looks dressed generic but if you dress/present yourself well people are definitely going to notice and treat you differently. It's why people spend so much money on clothes in the first place.
I only say it because I saw some dude in italy with a manbun+undercut+dreadlocks.
