In theory, absolute monarchies - at least for the time - make perfect sense. Who better to run a country than a descendant of one who did just that, and will receive the best education and advice on the matter? It's the "divine rights of kings" and stuff that throw the idea under the bus.
As I understand it, the inherent problem with hereditary rule is that it's entirely up to luck how well a monarch does. A great ruler may be followed by a total asshat, and everything he did can be undone immediately by the ascendant. Just this luck of the draw can fuck up everything. And when you take in to account human shittiness, it only makes things messier and messier and all the more less efficient.
For a time, monarchies have worked pretty well. Republics are a fairly young invention (save for a few Greek or Italian cities), and until about the 20th century most countries were monarchies.
I think the real problem with most monarchies is that they're incapable of surviving in a country that undergoes an industrial revolution, because it brings up a whole host of social and economic changes it's ultimately unable to adapt to. (As happened in many German states, Russia, France, etc).
Filthy Frank is wicked unfunny. I don't understand why he gets so much praise, his videos are cringeworthy at best.
Avengers was really bad and the trailers for the new one looks horrific. I have no idea how anyone can get excited about them.

Yeah I used to like him but then I realized that alot of his humor was becoming stale and following the same formula
"pusI boss!"
"Gimme da pusi!"
*licking sounds for about an hour or so*
*some image with an EPICC caption like when da kush hits you LOL* (on his FB page)
also he makes those EPIC!! meme faces alot so yeah

Because humor is subjective
After playing a couple minutes, I've decided that I don't like Magicka.
whatever
I don't get the popularity of most modern games nowadays.

Why???
The fact that the US government works at a snail pace means its working as intended. That way actual compromise can be made and things worked out.
Of course, that is different from the shit that groups like the Tea Party pull, but they're a whole different ball game.
Except things aren't being worked out, "compromise" now means give the Republicans nearly everything they want or face deadlock #1984210.

Of course, that is different from the shit that groups like the Tea Party pull, but they're a whole different ball game.
?????
did that part miss you or something?
Also moving at a snail's pace is absolutely fucking pathetic and doesn't work in this day and age, things are moving faster than ever before and our government can't keep up with increasingly large pile of issues plaguing America, our infrastructure is failing, our education system needs a reform, our new healthcare system is atrocious and needs to be replaced with a proper national healthcare system, and we're still continuing the pointless War on Drugs with no end in sight except for maybe marijuana.
I hate to break it to you, but there have been plenty of other time periods where there have been piles of issues plaguing the US, where things needed reform, and it never seemed like the government was doing enough, or that it was stretching itself too far. The nation was in a far more precarious situation in the 1860's and the reconstruction era. What the US is going through now, we'll pull through as we've been in deeper shit before. Besides, the system in the US is designed to be slow, its designed to be cumbersome. Issues should be pondered, not railroaded through on what one side or another thinks is right based on emotion. Many of the bills that are not popular with the public in the last 15 years or so (Say the Patriot Act) were railroaded through on emotion. A fast government is a highly centralized government, which in the past has generally been various forms of monarchies, which I'm sure there aren't many Americans who would want that.
Yes, the US has issues, and there are plenty of people within the government I wouldn't want there. But the system is working for the most part as intended.
I also believe that if the people aren't dissatisfied with their government in some way, there's something wrong with that government.
ScriptFodder sucks. There's no reason to restrict higher quality GMod addons from the rest of us peons who like our content kept free forever. Also because I anticipated VC-Mod for the longest time until the schmuck who made it put it on ScriptFodder instead of the Workshop.
Silent protagonists are not cool, immersive, or mysterious. It just screams laziness to me. I prefer playing as a character knowing that their vocal cords are functioning and that their vocabulary consists of more than grunts of exertion, pained groans, and yelling.
It really depends on the game, sometimes a shooter is better for me if the protagonist doesn't get intrusive with some poorly written, or forced personality. Sometimes though when the game has a lot of world building, you would definitely need a character that can react to everything.
I think Shin Megami Tensei in general knows how to make the best silent protagonists. They don't talk a whole lot outside of the choices you make, but they don't present it as if your character does not talk at all, they just talk very little, only making the statements that you choose that end up deciding your alignment and such things like that. They're still mostly silent protagonists and you never hear their voices, but they are shown to talk just enough to get you invested in them while leaving them a blank slate

Because his humor appeals to some people, while it doesn't appeal at all to others.
It's just taste.
Social lives/friends are overrated, they aren't needed and its better to keep busy with your hobbies
Social lives/friends are overrated, they aren't needed and its better to keep busy with your hobbies
Yeah, humans totally aren't social creatures by nature or anything. It's not like we spent the last ten thousand years slowly working together, one way or another, to get where we are today.
here's an actual unpopular opinion:
I'm optimistic for the future of the world around me, because in the grandest scheme possible of where humanity is going is ultimately a positive one, as it usually has been.
I am consistently surprised in how much and how many people are not just unaccepting to the idea that the world isn't any more horrible than 50 years ago, they're outwardly hostile to it. Most people I know IRL say the world is going to shit, and that when I'm age 50 I'll live in a horror land of crime and violence, however I simply don't believe anything like that is likely. When I posit the idea that maybe living in 2015 isn't all that bad when you compare it to any year prior for most of the world, they're like "psshh, fuckin kid, you'll grow up and see real crime that'll convince you that the world is only going downhill" and I have yet to see the basis for this other than pessimism. Shit happens consistently, but the shit that's happening in 2015 pales in comparison to the kinds of shit that happened in hundreds or thousands of years prior, and even if it did compare things are still chugging on their way to a better future for everyone.
I'm of course talking about the long, average, and most general look on all of humanity, there are people who are definitely living in places that are going downhill. Most of the world are living in places that are not that great, in fact. But for the whole of humanity, the average for what is a good life slowly but steadily rises.
Last century, There was rampant and violent sexism and racism world-wide, and war killed millions and millions of people, thousands of them being entirely innocent civilians. Sure there's some awful shit going on today, and bigotry is kicking it's feet dying out (at least in most first world countries), but we're doing so well in most things, and it's only getting better.

If you truly don't need other people in your life to be happy, then you don't need an internet connection, a cellphone, or a front door.

I get bored just like normal people, just because I don't want friends doesn't mean I hate talking to people.

Really, its hard to NOT have friends, its something you have to actively strive for (or subconsciously).
Like how a person would have to TRY to fail a basic spelling test
Try telling that to me. I can barely make a friend, let alone an acquaintance. School was rough without any other kids to sit at lunch and get stupid with.
College isn't any better right now, but I'm hoping that'll change in the future.

Generally I've noticed that saying this to people tends to make them feel very uncomfortable. The implication can often be that a deeply held belief about the world, history, society, culture, etc is deeply flawed in some way.
I've pretty much grown up without longtime friends and spend 95% of the time by myself, I have a yearning for company but I lack the motivation to actually make that happen. It's also common for people diagnosed with SzPD.
When I said overrated I didn't say that people should stop making friends I meant that it isn't the most important thing in the world.

A month into college almost two years ago, I merged in with a group of friends through my chem lab. Still hanging out with them today. We all have only a few things in common but I think we just genuinely enjoy each others' company, eating lunch together and making small talk about video games and goings-on in our lives.
What I'm getting at is that you shouldn't actively hunt down people who share your interests to a T. Just find a person or two whom you have a lot of classes with and work your way from there.
