That or maybe its because games are shit these days. waiting for mgs5 to help me actually like playing games again :/
i think yogkog is right. i've gone back to plenty of games that i loved back when i was a kid and realized they had some big flaws i just never noticed because i was so young.
There is some validity in saying that newer games don't have as much "charm" though. More effort has to be put into graphical fidelity and marketing so there can't be any time to put in as many easter eggs or little details anymore. However, games in general just have a lot more content nowadays, so it's difficult to please everyone.
I personally have no problem with today's games. If I miss older games, I play them again.

my main problem is the overabundance of DLC micro-transactions etc but some do it right i'm not completely jaded to the point where i find everything shit i just try to remain optimistic and positive
Or he might just be sick of them, nothing to do with age or anything. Might be time to find another hobby or two for awhile.
I can testify to this, for about half a year I was completly numb from gaming after getting burned again and again by hype, I just played nothing but dota2, occasionally trying to play something else but I just couldnt get myself to play for very long, until about a month a go I quit dota2, promising myself I would finally play my backlog of older emulated games I missed out on. I didn't, the only games that made me apreciate the time I spent with them, were the games that I already played and knew were good. I just couldn't bring myself to tread new ground and explore what I already knew worked. That's been my last month in my free time I would think about playing games, but I could never bring myself to play them, I just faffed around telling myself I would, or, I would watch other people play them, the spark of tredding trough a games library to find some gems was gone. That was until I discovered Drift stage, and suddenly the spark was back, this was all I wanted in a modern game, something that looked great, with it's own personality and felt fucking great to play, I spent like 5 hours in the demo trying to beat the expert ghost, and I did. After that I started exploring games again and I discovered a lot of games I never knew existed or were being developed, games that looked fun, the spark was back. And all this was because someone posted .gifs of the cars on /v/.
yeah, I was in a bad funk, until I got Ground Zeroes and dove into the greater world of Metal Gear Solid. after that I realized again how awesome video games are and I'm currently working on some of the games I've owned for a while and just stopped playing or never got around to starting. it's nice.
People still play video games? I gave up and decided to read books instead.
I think I like SimCity 2013 more than Cities: Skylines. Probably because it's simpler and easier to get into. Skylines looks so much more complex compared to SimCity and I personally don't like that. [editline]22nd March 2015[/editline] Also EA doesn't deserve half of the flak it gets. Ubisoft is a billion times worse than EA, even if it hasn't been that way for as long as EA has been.
Since this is unpopular opinions, I will say what EA and Ubisoft do are not as evil compared to say, I don't know Goldman Sachs. One screws up your video game experience, the other influences so much more..... According to open secrets, the last election they bought up both sides of the aisle. That can't be good.
i think gamergate is dumb
How did a suffix from the Watergate scandal which described a person who was using illegal methods to compete in an elections became synonymous with an activity one does between watching porno videos? I mean one is of rather significant importance, where the later just is lame.
i think bad video game company's are worse then company's that do real damage to the real world it effects me a hell of allot more then those do

And really, a lot of what EA does is understandable.

There are so many idiots on either side of the gamergate fiasco, and it's been dragged so far away from it's original message that the few reasonable people involved shouldn't even identify as pro or anti-gamergate. Bascially, "gamergate" was a good idea at first, but "gamergate" as it is now is a fucking joke that only idiots associate with. It's nothing more than an extremist circlejerk on both sides.
i think bad video game company's are worse then company's that do real damage to the real world it effects me a hell of allot more then those do
The difference is EA and the like do it because you let them. For me, I haven't bought a video game since 2005. I prefer newgrounds and flash games instead. If enough people kick the habit, the BS will cease. The ones who do real damage? Yeah thats not so easy there. I'm not all that interested in the Marvel Universe movies. In fact, I never really did have a big an interest in superheroes in the first place.
Yea tbh I think most of the marvel films are terrible
I think hotline miami is not a great game
Despite Wal Mart and Nestle's controversial practices, I'll still be their customer because Wal Mart is 24/7 and sometimes cheaper than other stores; and Nestle has their damn food everywhere.
costco > walmart for general groceries to be honest they're both evil coorporations but costco is pretty cool, plus they pay pretty damn well according to my friends who work there
People who value animal life over human are creepy.
People who value animal life over human are creepy.
How many humans have you met? Treacherous bastards they be. At least with a dog, if you treat it right, it will respect you back in kind.
i think bad video game company's are worse then company's that do real damage to the real world it effects me a hell of allot more then those do
So companies who ruin people's lives, the environment, etc aren't as bad as bad video game companies because it doesn't affect you?
i think bad video game company's are worse then company's that do real damage to the real world it effects me a hell of allot more then those do
Except these big corporations have literally controlled p much every aspect of ur life lmao they affect you far more than vid games ever could.. You just don't realise because it seems more passive. Our entire way of life is shaped by industry.
I lived in Southwest America for awhile. The local lake was drying up due to over use. I mentioned this to one of the locals. They didnt care due to valuing green grass on their lawn more then having water to drink. In the middle of a desert. Welcome to Murica! How this relate to EA and other corporations that do real damage? I let you decide.
It's strange that people would get more pissed at seeing animal abuse than human abuse. Abuse is obviously really horrible, though animals are more loved than humans.
I think it might have something to do with how we perceive animals as more innocent compared to humans.
So companies who ruin people's lives, the environment, etc aren't as bad as bad video game companies because it doesn't affect you?
pretty much it may be a selfish gesture but i see games as my bastion of escape when people fuck with them that's when i get pissed off. I'm also really pissed off with what Konami did with Kojima so that bitter feeling is still fresh here
