looking at america how it was before obama, i think he's done a fine damn job, also considering his attempts to fix diplomatic issues between the us and cuba
Touche. It still blows my mind that there's as many homophobes as there are in the world. Come up with a non-religious reason to hate the LGBT community, it's fucking impossible.
Increased rate of transmission of HIV, therefore gay people are statistically a higher tax burden on a country with free healthcare. I'm gay, I don't hate gays, you asked for a valid reason and I did. I have the same mindset though, if someone wants to be homophobic, I'm only ok with it if they can come up with a non-religious reason. If they are homophobic because the "bible says so", then they are stupid. My unpopular opinion is people should have to have a license to have children. There are too many parents who are unprepared for the burden of child care, and if driving a car requires a license because it can endanger lives, so should caring for children.

Would you force all those unlicensed parents to abort or surrender the child to adoption? Both options would have a disastrous effect, as forced abortion is akin to rape and adoption services would be overwhelmed. Something I could get behind is the government providing free parenting courses for new parents and the expecting.

But what would qualify someone as a suitable parent? Can poor people have children? What if someone has a criminal past? What if someone has a mental illness or disorder? It becomes a very dangerous game when the government decides who's allowed to reproduce. If you just want folks to take a parenting course, those already exist. As I said, I think parenting courses should be provided for free by the government. In some places they already are. If you want better child welfare services, advocate for better child welfare services.
"Ironically" liking something is a stupid and nonsensical expression that ought to die.
whats wrong with liking things ironically? its the same as liking something because its bad, see: the room
whats wrong with liking things ironically? its the same as liking something because its bad, see: the room
What I'm saying is that you cannot "ironically" like something. If you like it for whatever reason, you like it. Ironically liking something makes no sense [editline]18th April 2015[/editline] And to add to the list; fuck "pre-heating". You either heat an oven, or you don't.
whats wrong with liking things ironically? its the same as liking something because its bad, see: the room
that means you just like it i ironically love being a piece of shit what about that type of irony?
whats wrong with liking things ironically? its the same as liking something because its bad, see: the room
hearing people say they like something ironically comes off to me as if they're just too embarrassed to say they like a thing. it's the same thing as saying something is a "guilty pleasure" like ffs just admit that you like it and don't try to label it as something else so you don't feel bad about it.
But what would qualify someone as a suitable parent? Can poor people have children? What if someone has a criminal past? [editline]17th April 2015[/editline]
Yes, because however disastrous putting your child up for adoption is, or having an abortion is, forcing a child into a world where the parents are unable to cope with its need is even worse.
So, I'm perfectly capable of coping with the needs of a child, so I have one. 2 years later, I lose my job and have no income. Guess I should put the kid down or something?
"Ironically" liking something is a stupid and nonsensical expression that ought to die.
Also when someone says they "unironically" like something, it's an almost redundant adjective and just sounds stupid to say.
i don't think i've ever heard a person say they "unironically" like something seriously
Heath Ledger's joker is overrated as fuck
And to add to the list; fuck "pre-heating". You either heat an oven, or you don't.
This one makes sense, though. Same with pre-heating pans. The idea is that you have it at the heat you want before you put whatever it is in, as opposed to putting it in then turning on the heat.
Preheating doesn't even need the hyphen, it's a valid word on its own, that's literally what it means, to heat something prior to usage
So, I'm perfectly capable of coping with the needs of a child, so I have one. 2 years later, I lose my job and have no income. Guess I should put the kid down or something?
I'm pretty sure he means the morals and values part of raising a child, or how not to raise an abominable piece of shit. [editline]18th April 2015[/editline] There was some serious favoritism involved when my uncle and aunt raised their two children. My oldest cousin was always the one who's done everything wrong, even though his brother caused every single petty problem all the time, and they were too stupid to realise it. He went out of the house to live with friends when the oppertunity presented itself, more to escape his situation at home, but that turned out to be a disaster because he was just sitting at home depressed, without even looking for a job. Now he's back in and the nightmare just continues, only thing that's different is he actually, well, had a job, but he got fired from it for breaking a safety rule. At least he's looking for a job too now. He basically had to figure out how to live life all by himself, because his parents were never really there for him, as parents. I can't even think of a situation where he was allowed to cry and went to them for help. They both put their love into their youngest son, while basically treating their oldest son like serious shit. The most hypocritical thing of this shit is that my uncle and aunt were criticizing how my parents raised me and my brother. I know for a fact I can be super lazy and have some issues of myself, but at least I have my morals and values straight. And I've got more certificates and diplomas than him. Hell, the only certificate he has is a forklift certificate. He may be crooked at some times, but looking at how he was raised, he had literally no role model other than his father, who caused 90% of this nonsense, the other 10% is his mother letting it all slide and happen. So yeah, when he says taking proper care of a child, not looking at the financial aspect but the social and philosophical aspect, it's something I can get behind 100%, though not necessarily something as extreme as needing a license to parent.
Yu Gi Oh GX is great. People that hate on it just for being different than the first Yu gi oh forget about all the stupid decisions they made while writing the first generation Yu Gi oh cartoon.
People from it creepy that me and my GF go to sleep together in Skype calls.
I hate the term overrated, its as if one person is claiming what the entire community of said thing they call overrated thinks of their own terms its always pissed me off (though this probably belongs in things that get you mad thread so here my unpopular opinion to stay on topic) i find people who complain about weeaboos more annoying then the actual weeaboos themselves.
I lament the existence of Magic: The Gathering I cannot stand this game.
Oh no, dude. We make $10 an hour, give or take a few cents. I'm talking about a lot of places in the US that still have minimum wage set that low. Blows my mind when people say that employees should be fired for wanting more than $7 an hour. Fast food is fucking hard, and you don't have any idea how hard it is until you do it. I've had 5 jobs in my life and I can say without hesitation that fast food was the most stressful and the most on-your-toes job I ever had. It's so easy to fuck up and the traffic is basically non-stop. It's not just a job for teens anymore. When me and my girlfriend got hired at Tim Hortons, we were both high school graduates and we were the youngest people there. Before us, the youngest person was around 30 because there's fucking nothing for jobs here and most people don't have another choice aside from working fast food. It fucking pisses me off when people say "just go to college" because it's already a gamble, but even after you get a degree, there's still fuck all here.
This royally pisses me off. Getting through college doesn't automatically guarantee a job, what kind of fairytale land are these idiots living in that "just go to college" is a legit argument for them.
Playstation All Stars had a much more solid fighting system than Smash Bros. I wish they'd do another one.
People from it creepy that me and my GF go to sleep together in Skype calls.
people don't think it's creepy, it's just that these aren't things you should be telling other people
I lament the existence of Magic: The Gathering I cannot stand this game.
I just don't like how it drowns out any and all other games. I go to my local game shops and see what sort of stuff they do on different days, and it's all just fucking MtG. 6 days of various MtG tourneys and a fucking board game night. DnD? Nope. Mutants and Masterminds? Nope. Shadowrun? Nope. Pathfinder? Nope. Cyberpunk? Nope. Eclipse Phase? Nope. You get the idea. It's all just variations on that god damn card game.
people don't think it's creepy, it's just that these aren't things you should be telling other people
We were in a big 15 people call yesturday and shit and slowly everyone left to go to sleep and in such me and my GF just fell asleep in the call and people talked about it.
I am convinced that everyone is a snake when it comes to money. Every, fucking, one. If they can find a way to make themselves a little bit more money at the cost of someone else's misfortune, then they will take that opportunity without a second thought.
I guess I must be causing Walmart a lot of misfortune then, because I'm only in this job for the money.
You must have a pretty shit bunch of local game shops for no tabletop RPGs. Other hobby stores have a weekly schedule and do 40k on one day, dnd on another, heroclix on the next etc. I really reccomend heroclix, its the fucking shit
Bioshock: Infinite, while flawed in some ways, doesn't deserve the most of the hate it gets. It's pretty much all overblown.
Bioshock: Infinite, while flawed in some ways, doesn't deserve the most of the hate it gets.
