I sometimes feel people who are against the death penalty simply because it's "cheaper" don't really care about the human right's aspect about it. That, and those who are against it because life in prison is "worse because they'll suffer longer".
Main reason I'm against it is because I'm against killing people who aren't a threat. I'm in general against killing people as well.
The numbers argument is honestly fairly convincing as I see a lot of people who are in favor of the Death Penalty state that the Death Penalty is cheaper. The numbers were surprising to me, since it effectively shows that even just in the incarceration it's far more expensive to keep a death row inmate. Even if they are only on Death Row for 10 or 20 years, as opposed to sitting in prison for 40 or 50, they have effectively cost the same amount of money in far less time.
tbh I think Ben Affleck is the best person to be cast as batman in a movie. He's the only person who actually looks like a Batman. And he's a solid actor so I'm expecting him to be good. The film will suck tho (even if the trailer is pretty cool-- its showing off interesting and ideas and concepts but this is a zac snyder movie writer by David S Goyer. It's going to show off some interesting ideas, pose some cool questions, but not actually deal with them. It'll sacrifice all depth and thematic relevance for longwinded action scenes and schmaltziness)
Ben Affleck is a better director than he is an actor.
I agree with the death penalty because I honestly believe there are people who aren't deserving of life or worth rehabilitating. In relation I don't believe that everyone who ends up in positions like these are always mentally defective as people seem to like to believe.

Yeah, when I saw him unmasked in the trailer his appearance seemed much more fitting for Bruce.
I never really cared about superheroes or their crazy storylines that go all over the place and make it impossible for a casual reader to follow.

Comics themselves aren't really for casual readers like the movies are for casual movie goers.
I loved PE. I was mediocre at most of the exercises and sports we did but anything to escape the classroom atmosphere. Junior year was my favorite year if only for the fact that I actually had two back to back PE classes in the morning.

People argue a lot about music in general, I just like listening to random songs if I like them.

I'm pretty conflicted about genres, because on one hand I'd say that I don't give a shit about them, and on the other hand I seem to like electronic/DnB/dance more than anything :v:
i normally dont care but i have a heavy dislike for electro/club/*insertword*step save for like a few skrillex beats i took a liking to
Don't really get the hype for fantasy narratives, tho that's just me I'm more of a hardcore sci fi guy.

Related unpopular opinion, Chris Pratt is a very "only okay" actor who's overrated because he was in GoTG.

I like him a lot, but he's more of a typecast actor that doesn't fit into Jurassic World

I feel like he played the generic "quirky cocky cool guy" character concept decently in GoTG, and because comic books, nerd fandom ran wild and suddenly, he's one of the best actors in recent years.

I don't really care for music or art in general as a profession. It's just a hobby for me and I find it somewhat ridiculous that there are art schools and art businesses.
It mostly stems from being an overly pragmatic and utilitarian person and these things offer no real usefulness other than passing free time.
[editline]21st April 2015[/editline]
I don't even listen to music daily. The only time I listen to music is when I turn on the radio in my truck. And half the time then I'm listening to NPR anyway.
People pay out the balls for good entertainment, dude
There's a reason the video game industry is making fat stacks

This isn't aimed at you, but as someone who loves music and has his headphones plugged in for hours every day, I'm always surprised when I hear someone say they just flat-out don't enjoy/listen to music. I'm always wondering in my head, "Are you human cardboard?"
Living on your own is better than living with people.
Sorry if you disagree, I just think I prefer the situation of 'woah money overspent? i'll cut back this money spending i'm doing and no one else' as opposed to 'woah money overspent? WELL I didn't do it, WITCH HUNT TIME.'
Also, I don't like loud noises, slow people, people that are too dependant, overly stupid people. If I live alone, I can accept my mistakes and learn. What are the chances of the people I'm living with to accept my bitching about how untidy they are and expect them to become a whole new person.
People circlejerk over older movies far too much when in reality newer movies can be just as good or better. The two undeniable facts that I acknowledge are that older movies were generally more original (but it's obviously becoming increasingly difficult to come up with 100% original stories) and that practical effects are better looking and more charming than CGI. However, many classic movies have glaring flaws in them that would get them torn apart if they were released today. I'm afraid there aren't going to be as many "classics" that came out in the past 15 years in comparison to the 60s-80s because I believe people are just a lot more critical now than we were in the past. Sure, a lot of classics in the past may not have been well received by critics when they were released, but people loved them despite their flaws, which is why they're remembered today. I think one of the best examples I can think of for a modern, really well known movie is The Dark Knight, because although it most likely will be remembered 20 years from now, there's still going to be people discrediting it (like the argument over Ledger's Joker, for example, or some plot holes that are honestly really minor but people like to bring it up anyway), unlike the golden pedestal people hold movies from the 20th century. I'm not saying The Dark Knight is perfect, but neither is Indiana Jones, or Robocop, or Terminator, as good as those examples are.
Mankind has been making stories literally since before the Romans. It's not like only just now did we run out of creative ideas for stories to turn into movies.
Hollywood just wants to milk old titles for new money instead of spending time being original.
Pokémon XY and ORAS are the worst generation of Pokémon games by far and I'd only recommend them to people who are looking for an active online community. I say if you want the definative Pokémon experience play Platinum or Black+Black 2 /White+White 2.

My mom once told me that, as a kid, I never did have a favorite superhero. She's still right.

The thing that bugged me with Black/White was that they made a point of not being able to find any Pokémon from previous generations until you got the national dex, not only did it feel like a bit of a letdown, but combined with the fact that they didn't introduce something as game changing as the fairy type in X/Y made it feel like a lot of the new Pokémon were forced out to fill holes that were meant for returning ones to fit (I'm looking at you Woobat).

The only superhero I can vaguely consider as a favorite is Captain America and that's just because Peggy Carter is wicked cute and I loved Agent Carter when it was on ABC a few months ago.
I think it's not the worst Metal Gear game, but it's definitely overrated, and set the series down this weird path of dumb, goofy installments, as opposed to the post-modern masterpiece that was MGS2.
On the flip side, MGS2 set a different tone for the series and attracts a cult of fanboys that tend to overuse the phrase "postmodern masterpiece". Postmodernism isn't some ultimate art form and even then, MGS2 is a weak intro to it. Good game though.

That's why I love Shadowrun. Cyberpunk fantasy? Sign me the fuck up.
I don't think The Dark Knight Rises was great but not disappointing either.
