Uhhh why
pregnancy should be eliminated entirely in favour of lab grown babies as soon as such a thing becomes viable
Oh boy, I can't wait to hear arguments for this.
No defects, no genetic diseases, no strain on mother, ability for government to raise their own army of soldiers built and trained for war since birth, etc etc
But I want my babies to be disabled
If our technology ever reached that point, it hopefully wouldn't ever be mandatory. Some folks wouldn't want to deal with pregnancy. Others consider it a critical component of motherhood. Pregnancy causes a striking change in the body's hormones. For some this can be disastrous (postpartum depression and postpartum psychosis), but for others they intensify the bond a mother feels for her child. There's also the idea of which prenatal environment would be healthier for the fetus, and even for the mother. Basically, pregnancy is complex. I do find the idea of genetically-modified babies creepy and eugenics-y though.
IMO Aphex Twin's best song right now is Logan Rock Witch
The father doesn't need those hormones to "intensify" his bond for his child, so honestly I think that is just silly.
The same applies to adoption, but not everyone who wants a child opts to adopt. As with anything, especially something so personal, choice is important. We're also nowhere close to that technology, so the full benefits and consequences can't be adequately discussed.
The father doesn't need those hormones to "intensify" his bond for his child, so honestly I think that is just silly.
Regardless of what you think of it it's the facts.
There is no such thing as divine morals and that all morals used by people (and animals) is just an evolutionary tool used for pack survival and that morals are almost always relative to individuals.
My bet isnhe watched the movie Gattaca and decided that is the best course of action for society.
But I want my babies to be disabled
Just use a crowbar, then?
My bet isnhe watched the movie Gattaca and decided that is the best course of action for society.
does he not realize that one of the biggest morals of the story is all about how their society is flawed and destructive
I don't get people who don't believe videogames can cause actual violence, but then do a full 180 by labeling games they deem offensive as 'hate speech'. Hate speech is when the speaker calls for violence against certain kinds of people. If some games can indeed be considered hate speech, that means they cause violence against those people, which contradicts the initial point. If those games can incite hatred against races or cultures, why can't violent videogames incite violence? There's also the issue of responsibility. In a fictional medium, the actions and opinions of the characters as well as the events that occur aren't a reflection of the author's beliefs. Something you learn pretty early in English class is that the subtext of a fictional work and the author's intended meaning can never be truly determined. Bearing that in mind, how can you use it as a base to accuse an author of holding a bigoted opinion? Any judgement that you make on the work is necessarily subjective.
I seriously prefer 30FPS over 60FPS. Mainly because I've grown up with the former speed and it looks more natural to me, while the latter speed looks like somebody hit fast-forward on a VCR and is making the movie go by too fast. Of course nobody else will agree with me on this.
Hell's Kitchen is terrible
I prefer consistent framerate to actual framerate. As long as you can get it to at least 30FPS and keep it wherever you put it then I'll take it over something that would fluctuate from 240 to 60. No matter how good or bad a game looks at any framerate it looks better when it doesn't fluctuate.

In real life there's a ton of motion blur (for anyone denying this, try waving your hand in front of your face while focusing behind it), but when movies are made in 48/60 fps the shutter speed is generally shortened, which gives it the fast-motion effect. Of course being used to 24 fps makes it even more jolting to switch suddenly to twice the framerate, but how quick shutter speeds work when connected to shooting film makes the video inherently slightly "off" looking because it isn't how it looks in real life. I'm kind of glad the HFR trend is passing honestly. [editline]9th May 2015[/editline] But in video games, 60 fps is undoubtedly superior

However, in TV/Film or non videogame youtube videos it reminds me of soap operas
I don't care as long as it's equal to or above 60 fps with video games, and consistently set to 30 or 60 fps for everything else. Fluctuating up and down is bullshit.

In some cases I like how smooth the video is, but because I've gotten so used to 30 FPS, 60 might look too smooth occasionally :v: But I'll probably get more used to it over time, and hopefully so will you.

Hell, I'm so used to playing Left 4 Dead 2 at 20fps on my shit PC that it would probably be hard for me to transition to 60fps if I got a better processor.
Sometimes 60 looks really odd on some videos. I.E Skallagrim, a guy who does sword and sword accessory videos has started doing things in 60. Now, sparring scenes look good in 60, but his regular reviews or vlogs look...really off
People who say the Earth is overpopulated and we're just minutes away from running out of sustainable resources are dumber than a pile of bricks and I cannot stand hearing their stupid charlatan speeches on why they aren't, and why others should not, have kids.

[editline]10th May 2015[/editline] Imagine wanting a movie that looks like a soap opera.

Payday 2 shouldn't even had happened. I curse myself every time that i remember myself that i have pre-ordered it.
your avatar speaks otherwise
your avatar speaks otherwise
Sadly i was blinded by the joy that i had for the game.
I know what you mean, over time my experience with Payday 2 became extremely soured. The fact that basically any cosmetic that was actually semi decent looking was locked behind a shroud of DLC was dumb as shit. I find it kind of funny how much Payday 2 actually gets away with whereas other games wouldn't.
I'm not sure if he is hated here or not, but man, I love Seananners' videos
Seananners and Markiplier are both decently funny dudes and I don't see why they get so much flak from "mature" people these days. Pewdiepie, on the other hand, is still straight-up unfunny.
i think theyre all incredibly unfunny and samey
