Why not?
Because crappy, old mustangs that can go faster are sexy and all the girls wanna ride in them.
Having all that horsepower and speed is useless compared to looks because your not gonna be racing the car to begin with. Racing is illegal unless you actually waste time on a track which gets old fast.
Why is it covered in electrical tape?
Do they not want to reveal it?
Actually it looks pretty badass with the tape. I say, paint it gun black.

Dave says so.
T's the new mercedes SLS AMG. 571 ps, 650 nm, 0-100km/h in under 4 seconds and top speed of 315 km/h. What a beast!
I haven't had the chance to see the new camaro but all I know is that the challenger is the biggest piece of crap I've had the chance to see. I mean it has some serious build quality issues. First of all, the bumper was so damn flimsy you could push on one side with your pinky and the other side of the bumper would distort and bend down.
You could move the grill around, there were obvious differences in the gaps from one side to the other side. They obviously did not try very hard to make the challenger, I just hope the camaro is better.
You can't tell what a car is like until you've felt it and driven it.

What an ugly beast.
A saloon car can hit 360 Km/h with just 600HP.
I bet you it's a lot heavier than that SLS and is still faster.
And a very beautiful car, the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG.

It always gets faster, stronger and bigger. And I don't think a normal saloon car reaches a top speed of 360km/h without driving down a hill. 571 PS is a lot power, eventhough it's previous car had 700 horses. That car weight's around 1.7 t.

Of course I wouldn't say no, because I could sell it and get a first generation Camaro SS and use the rest of the money for the ridiculously high insurance :eng101:

Is that a sonata? They're extremely reliable cars. If I don't get a hand me down I'm going to get myself one most likely.
also with a hyundai like this you can be elitist as much as you want.

It's a Hyundai, not a very prestigious badge if you ask me. If I had a friend with that, I'd be like, cool, it's good looking, but on the inside I'd still think a Mercedes or BMW would be more impressive. Also, have you seen how Honda are trying to make the City look like a BMW?

Agreed, if you buy a car to be elitist the badge is extremely important (maybe the most important part?). Not that I would buy to be elitist anyways.
"Okay, son, you can have the Toyota Camry or the BMW 325i, they have the same specifications, are both good cars. The BMW is 20,000 more dollars though. Which would you like?"
I'd answer proudly with "BMW 325i please"
Hell, if you can afford both, of course you wouldn't get the Camry. Unless, you're weird.

Spyker C8, nice car, but as TopGear said, it's a car that is meant to be worn, not driven (which means that it's nice and beautiful, but isn't very practical or performant).
I don't think you guys actually got to see the Equus like I did in person. I was blown away by it when I first saw it and sat in it. Sitting inside of it you can mistake it for some sort Maybach or other super premium luxury car. The Genesis I rode in also had a very solid interior and smooth ride.
When Lexus was first introduced people laughed, if Hyundai keeps this up they will certainly become a very reputable brand cachet in terms or reliability and luxury.

Yeah agreed, I'd go for the BMW too, but it's also true that the badge is like a guarantee since you know how well-made BMW are, so it isn't only because of the badge I'd choose it, but also because of what the badge means (although I don't know if there is any big difference in build quality between the two cars in the example, I'm talking about in general).

The way I see it is that, Japanese and Korean car makers are taking advantage of the recession, trying to make cars that look like European cars and hoping people will see them as "Cheap Alternatives" to having a BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Aston, etc.
Now, some people [sp]idiots[/sp] believe that they will look just as classy in a Honda City than in an M3.
And yes, there are some people who I've talked to who will defend there Honda Jazz to the end, even though they know, if I pulled up in a BMW 1 Series, his penis would shrivel up.
It is a very smart business mechanic I will admit.

It.. it.. has a smug face.
I need one.
Seriously look. :smug: Compare that to the Jaaaaaaaag.
They are being indeed smart the asian car-makers, but so are their buyers. Who cares about the brand cachet. A person who is secure with himself or herself will for sure consider it. They both look similar enough that its a matter or preference except the hyundai has better reliability, more room, can use regular fuel, and imo a more classy look, the bmw 3 just looks ghastly and boring because there are so damn many of them out there.
comparison of Bmw3 series and Hyundai Genesis both have a similar price range, although the Hyundai is still slightly cheaper.

You must be European, no current Hyundais over here are hatchbacks
You must be European, no current Hyundais over here are hatchbacks
Where the fuck do you live? Also, Hyundai isn't going to be considered a luxury brand unless they drop all there current eyesores. The Accent, Tiburon, Entourage, etc.
The cars they have that aren't those, are either, the price of European cars, and admittedly, the same quality of European cars, except a shittier badge and a few different things. So there's no point when you could just have a European car, and the rest are just generic vehicles.
Same applies with Kia.
Japan are doing well, but, again, it's all about the badge when it comes to prestige.
