Yeah, those Rx-8's are pretty awesome but I can't afford to fucking replace the engine or apex seals all the time.

shit boiiii
Why do you think you'd have to replace the apex seals all the time?
My 13B made it to 113k miles of extremely bad abuse, before popping.
It's pretty cheap to rebuild one if you do the work yourself, too...

problem is, not everyone got the tools, or know how to use them.
I'm sure I asked this before, but I'll ask it again :v:
What is a good first car for a teenager in the UK?
No Top Gear "beige Volvo estate" or anything like it please.

Yes, I saw that episode, it was good :v:

small, relatively new, and not a Korean/Chinese brand.

Seriously, something like that.
I was thinking something along the lines of a Toyota Aygo/Citroen variant/Peugeot variant.
I was thinking something along the lines of a Toyota Aygo/Citroen variant/Peugeot variant.
The aygo is the best of those three.
Don't bother with Citroën C1 or Peugeot 107.
Why not the Citroen or Peugeot?

Why?

Same platform, just manufactured different places.
But Toyota is slightly better, because they offer more quality and accessories for the buck

Quick google search, had once a article that went in-depth on each car.
Citroen and Peugeot are pretty much the same, only major difference is badge.

The car is still a viable option, I just keep hearing these horror stories of people replacing entire engines. How much does a repair like that cost?
Why not the Citroen or Peugeot?
Why don't you just shop for a car you like that's within your budget? I'd start with 90's luxury cars or something. They're pretty fast and pretty safe, they may be old but they have a lot of nice features you wont get with new but cheap models.

The engine is fairly light and small...
Like I said, beyond parts it's fairly straight forward to do your self.....

I was looking at one (RX-8) in the shop today and the tech made me lift up on the fender so the lift would clear under the owners piece of shit body kit held on with tape. :D The guy can't afford new tires either so he rotated his aftermarket rims from the front to the back and put the factory rims and tires back on the front to make the car look even better, shit! should have taken a picture. It will be back soon enough.
And I went to my friends place and helped him mounting new lights on his Supra lol

Eww. 2JZ-GE. Aww, who am I kidding, I'd love to have it.

You could get a Skyline R32 GTR for around £6500. R33's are about £10,000
I know that's not considered cheap and it's not a luxury car, but IT'S A FUCKIN SKYRINE!!1

Wouldn't a GTS-T be cheaper and more common?

Yeah, because a new driver could really get insured on a skyline.
Exactry.
Insurance will be a complete bitch, which is why I was thinking of the Aygo.

Get an Aygo, just don't choose the 3 doors only option.
It's more practical with 5 doors and it's easier to sell and a 5 door generally keeps it's value a little better then 3 doors.
I'd say look for some Mercedes', Jaguar's, BMW's, Lexus's, etc.

I would shy away from that based on repair costs. (well, aside from the lexus)
Look into some older highend touring/luxury japanese cars. Going to be the best bet for a car that will last, be nice, and be cheap/easy to work on.
INSURANCE
god damn
Regardless of inital price, I'm gonna have to pay insurance/put it on my parent's policy. Smaller, newer cars will cost me less.

I have full coverage on my SVX for a little over $40 a month.
Insurance is cheap on cars considered to be luxury/touring. My RX7 was double that for liability.
The SVX is a POS :colbert:

The get a 5 door Toyota Aygo.
The car is great, if i wasn't fired for my last job because of recession, i would have bought an Aygo instead of my banged up corolla.

Yes, of course

That image just makes it look like more of a POS.
