my dad used to have one of these back when he was a kid:

apparently he put a bunch of shit in it to make it really fast too. too bad i've never seen it ):
No I don't mean cables. The caps on the fender.

Never seen them before, I assumed the red and black means electricity. What's the purpose of having them there?
Easier to access than opening the hood. They are used for the winch.
Phone car made me lol
Easier to access than opening the hood. They are used for the winch.
When you want to use the winch you have to run a cable from the front of the car over to the fender to get power to it. Why not just have the cables running through the grille directly to the battery? I guess I just find the mounting location strange for the terminals.
Ohhh, that makes a lot of sence. I'm looking at starting driving lessons soon (just started 6th form today). But I REALLY doub't I'll be able to own and maintain a car at 17. :/
It's not easy, trust me. To buy, maintain and upgrade his corsa my mate was working a 30 hour week ontop of sixth form (2 12 hour shifts at weekends and then 2 3 hour evening shifts in the week)
I posted this awhile ago.
1990 Crown Victoria in perfect condition. A guy traded it in on the cash for clunkers program.

Here's what happened when they tried clunking it. (clunking involves draining the oil and replacing it with liquid glass then running the engine at ~2,000 revs until it seizes.)

I've heard the term but I've got no idea what the hell is it. Is it some sort of a government program to randomly burn every old car?
I have to admin the R8 is my favourite car,
But
We have this car

30 hours a week?! Facking hell! My 6th form will cut off our EMA if we work more than 11 hours a week! I think I'm gonna give up with getting a car at 17, especially as my 6th form is very big on school trips! Plus I need £800 by November for this American exchange student trip thing!
I've heard the term but I've got no idea what the hell is it. Is it some sort of a government program to randomly burn every old car?
It's supposed to get rid of old, fuel-inefficient cars, but people are just trading their cars in as soon as their value drops below $4500 (which is how much you get from CFC) even though they are in great condition. And from what I've seen, most of the cars traded in are 80's - 90's domestics, and the cars replacing them are usually japanese.
The worst part is they're crushing all the cars after they wreck the engine, so people can't even use them for parts. Aside from the few actual clunkers that got traded in, it's a very wasteful program.
So, anyone here a Live for Speed racer?
I'm a mega F1 racer in it. Here's my fantasy BAR Honda. :v:

Also, what F1 cars do you guys really like the look of? Some of the ones I really like were never top guns in F1.
Examples.
Orange Arrows

We should play some time. Good time to show off my 50,000,000,000 BF1 skins.

Yes.
A customer came in with the crown vic which the government says gets so many miles per gallon. He buys a car that the government says gets so many more miles per gallon. If it is a difference of 10 (better) we give him $4500 toward the purchase of a brand new car. Then we do a bunch of paperwork and get the $4500 from the government. Once we have the money we have to disable the engine in the car, that's a requirement of the program. To disable the engine you have to seize it. In this case the car lit on fire, fortunately they had pulled it out of line and it wasn't inside the building.
I have a poster of that Spyker F1 car on my wall, love the underdogs, my current favorite team is STR!!!
Hmm
I'm really considering getting this:

I noticed it had a rating of this:

# 3: Does have more noticeable cosmetic flaws, but still has a nice appearance and is a mechanically sound vehicle.
Probably fixable p. cheap if it's just minor dings here and there, right (I have little intention on fixing little chips of paint, I'll be buying floor mats anyway, or a little rust here and there)? With 80k miles on it I think it's a decent deal and fits in my price range. 22Mpg is fine, the seats look fine, and it has the pop-up lights I adore.
Get?

I'd imagine so.

Wanna drop 5k on it? his reserve is at least 4k and you haven't seen the car in person.

Yes I wanna drop 5k on it I only use buyitnow and it's inspected and it seems p. legit I could go scoot over to there to check it take a weekend

That's a shitty, wasteful program.
I only use buyitnow and it's inspected
Hah an inspection. An inspection involves the dealer trying to spend as little money as possible to get the car running, with an 80k mile car they just can't spend the money on it to make it worth it. Drive before you buy (it now). It could be a nice little car.
Yes I wanna drop 5k on it I only use buyitnow and it's inspected and it seems p. legit I could go scoot over to there to check it take a weekend
SW20/21's kick so much fucking ass, get it, enjoy it, and be careful, it will oversteer like a bitch. Don't settle for anything that isn't a Turbo/Manual.

Sounds really wasteful. Especially since it's more ecological to keep an old car running than to produce a new one every so often. They haven't thought this through have they?
Sounds really wasteful. Especially since it's more ecological to keep an old car running than to produce a new one every so often. They haven't thought this through have they?
More of an economic boom to the car industry, the program was more concerned with getting people to buy new cars than to save gas. In that sense it was pretty successful.
I think the scrap yards that buy the clunkers are able to part them out, the only thing the dealer has to do is disable the engine.
Sounds really wasteful. Especially since it's more ecological to keep an old car running than to produce a new one every so often. They haven't thought this through have they?
We have a similar scheme in this country, but apparently dealers have tried to turn people away when they bring in what is a perfectly good older cars that could be sold for more than what they'll give you.
Apparently people have taken in old sports cars in good nick.

100 years of enthusiasts tuning the combustion engine to the highest standard, squeezing every last drop of power from their engine and all it boils down to is 'putting a bunch of shit in it to make it really fast'
incredible

If you're talking about the british one, it's nowt to do with fuel efficency, it's a scheme to kickstart the dying motor industry by giving people an incentive to buy a new car.
Doesn't really make much difference, but people are dumb. I know a lad who bought a 20k new car just because it came with free insurance.
He wrote it off two weeks later and they wouldn't pay out.
lol
What was the 20k car?

Fuck knows, some hideous Peugeot. Kinda glad he wrote it off, one less peugeot in the world can only be a good thing.
same goes for fiats.
But the Fiat 500 isn't bad. Especially not the Abbarth version.
And if Fiat went bust, Ferrari would be in trouble as well seeing as they own it.
