watched those videos pretty impressive. My mistake, I based what I said earlier from the earlier smart which I read barely got a 3/5 rating. Although in the future I think crumpling vs crumpling cars would be safer than two rigid cars colliding since the force would just be too much for the occupants.
The cabin has got a fancy safety cell around it, I remember seeing an ad where a guy from Smart was sitting in a ForTwo, and the front got hit by a wrecking ball. He got out and walked off :v:

Im very sure that wouldnt happen in real life. :P Its more likely that they carved and painted a rock to look like a Smart Car or something. :P
My uncle had one, it was actually pretty nippy considering it has such a small engine.
Fuck the Smart.
A Honda Jazz/Fit is a much better car in every way.

Even a 5-Door Toyota Aygo is better, And that car doesn't have a boot.
It's more like a extra glove compartment at the back of the car.
Was never a big fan of the fit, it has a really bulgy interior that feels very uncomfortable to me. No, I am not fat.

stop fucking stalking me you pollo.
Oh hey guys. This thread went off my Read Threads List, so I thought it died.
How about a nice Miura to start off the day.

I like the new miura, because it looks so much like the original but has a modern flair to it.
Since when?
A car that was in the military for the longest time, that's the most famous off-road vehicle there is, and that is basically shaped like a cube is a vehicle for girls?
Actually, the jeep being a 'woman's car' stereotype is quite true, at least where I live.
Around here i have never seen a woman driving a jeep, for some reason. Ever.
That Miura looks fan-fucking-tastic. I hope Lamborghini put that into production.

Spot on.
I looked at the Model A, it's getting sanded.
Hi. All these cars suck. This is the best car in the world today:

Any other AE86 fans here? Just look at it, it's beautiful.
An aquired taste I find though.
If you ever owned or drove one you'd realize it's a gokart shitbox.
The top speed on the non-GTS models was like 80mph and I'm not entirely sure but it appears the car's transmission is powered by vaccume hoses!
They're really shitty, if it wasn't for initial D they'd be hated.
Also getting really tired of listening to people rant about muscle cars in this thread. Sure, fine, they had a v8 with 400hp in a production car, the catch is most weighed well over 4000lbs and were SLOW. They sucked gas, had terrible emissions, couldn't hook up, and weren't very fast. Very very few were making horse power numbers like that too, most were in the low to mid 200hp range, at still that same weight class. A new hybrid would outrun a lot of those cars.

Praising a car isn't really called ranting.
I'm not AS concerned about the speed of the cars (so long as they don't have a v6) as much as how I just love the look of them.
This:

Looks like a heavy old boat to me, but that's just me.

Bud, I'm not sure what kind of muscle cars you've been around all your life, but I would hate to be you.
and yeah, a lot of them are heavy, and they aren't supercars. they were never meant to be. but I have a 1971 Chevy Impala, which is a fucking BOAT of a car, that can outrun a 2003 Mustang GT pretty easily. Done it quite a few times.

A mustang GT isn't shit, most have around 215-220hp. Shit, my SVX dominates those too with it's 3.3L 6 cylinder. (And I get 25-30mpg)
When you outrun something more than a grocery getter, I'll be impressed.

New ones are really nice, fast as hell, chick magnets (again, where I live), and have really cheap aftermarket parts. I'm extremely glad I chose my 'Stang over a 350z.
Edit:
I miss read it, you said a gt isn't shit. Oh well, I still stand on my above statement ^^^
Also a stock '03 stang had 260.
except my fathers 2003 mustang GT has a kenne bell supercharger, getting it fairly close to 500 horsepower. and with the ECU re-tune, it gets damn near the same mileage as your SVX when you don't fuck off with it.
and what do you consider more? I've only met one guy driving an import that beat me yet, and he drives a 96 civic with a T3 turbo. There are a lot of little showoff kids around here that think they are hot with their stock engines and massive bodykits, though.
by the way, the impala is a 1971 Custom Deluxe, essentially the SS for that year. Stock engine, 400 smallblock chevy with a Weiand 173 series supercharger, if I remember correctly, and throttle body injection system.

God I fucking hate those kids.
Yeah, but its hilarious to watch them, and destroy them when they get brave enough to go to a track.
I would already assume that they have no sportsmanship.

I'd just make you back down on a long stretch. I doubt you have the gearing to keep up over 140. (Or the suspension, or the tires, or a car built to handle it.)
And yea you're talking about all these $2000+ mods... I'm talking about all stock cars. An 03 mustang GT makes 215hp. The newest ones make a lot more, but they're made such low quality I cringed when I walked around one at a dealership... The 09 models are terrible cars. They basically just took some shit stain of a midsized car with economy car brakes and chassis(all stamped suspension components and single piston brakes), and threw a moderately large engine in it. Oh and get this, 17-21mpg posted on the sticker. Depressing how badly made American cars are now. The orange peel on the paint was so bad it almost wasn't glossy, I doubt it had a clear coat.
the stock 2001-2004 Mustang GT makes 260 horsepower. We've been over this. My Impala can do 140, but that's about the end of it. as you said, gearing is shit, But (Edit) After looking at the specs of your precious SVX and a few videos of it, I bet I would get there a lot faster than you. it still has the stock automatic tranny, for gods sake. and backing up a car isn't an issue, bud. try backing up a 40 foot lowboy trailer through a busy job site to pick up a piece of machinery.
and the new mustangs need so much more power because they are fucking huge. the 2001-2004 mustangs are pony cars, they are small and weight next to nothing in comparison.
and bud, your SVX is pushing it at 140 too, If you've ever even had it there.

Not really:

Might want to check out the specs on the transmission's gearing some time. It's ridiculously tall, and to make up for it has an electronic torque converter that stalls pretty damn high.
Checked the specs again, apparently I was thinking of the previous generation's specs.(for the mustang)
As for the SVX, I've never got into 4th gear before messing around. It doesn't shift out of 3rd till past 125mph. Only hit it once, and let off, on a pass when I was pissed off and driving it 600miles home from when I bought it.
Tall gears take a long time to get up.
that should be about comparable, same supercharger and around the same internals once we finished.
Oh god, I'm so entertained. I've gone from watching supercharged mustangs, to corvette police interceptors fucking with ricers on the highway, to watching kids in shitty ricers miss shifts, to watching THIS. HOLY SHIT, I WANT THEM.
