Somebody should just go ahead and post the discography of Iron Maiden & Pink Floyd so I don't have to keep seeing the same album
Did you go and see them Mokkan? I remember hearing they played at thebby or adelaide oval or something a couple weeks ago.
o.o Didn't know about this recent one
Went to see them back in 07 though.

These are the albums that got me into house music. If it weren't for them, I'd still be listening to Fall Out Boy.

No, I'm not trolling either. This album had me later on listen to a lot more acoustic-like songs.
I've heard it
I cannot honestly tell what the fuss is about with that album, seems perfectly normal to me

What is it?

Made me realize that not all music is generic crap. (Before this, I didn't like music in general)
And I decided to listen to it because of Crazy Taxi. I didn't think a game I got for $10 used at EB Games could make such an impact on me, but it did. Because from then on, I grew to love music.
I would post a Beatles album, problem is that I don't remember HOW I got into the Beatles. :sigh:

Saw someone on Facepunch mention The Odyssey. I decided to listen to the song for the hell of it.
(The concept of a 24 minute song sounded interesting)
My initial reaction: :flashfap:
That got me into progressive metal, which is now one of my favorite genres.

Neutral Milk Hotel's In the Aeroplane Over the Sea

Reise Reise was the first album I heard from Rammstein and made me check out their other production.

Listening to Rammstein made me more interested in industrial metal and helped me discover Turmion Kätilöt.

simply because it made me completely revisit what I thought about gender in hip-hop. Throw away your notions about hip-hop being a boys game, Nicki's science dropping is good enough to make some established rappers red-faced.

then

Now I'm all into classical and jazz( although Meshuggah is still one of my favorites )

In the airplane over the sea.
Even though I don't like them anymore, they brought me into the world of electronic music.

Same story here.
My second ps2 game put me onto a great band :v:
If only I knew how much it would change me.

The Kanon 2006 OST album (pic)
After I was getting tired of the music that everyone listens to over and over on the radio, I was kind of giving up on music in general. I came across this album, and foreign music sparked my interest. Now that's pretty much all I listen to.
Okay, Loveless is pretty great. I was dissecting it too much. It seems like an album where everything is just a tool to make music, not story telling or anything. It is just meant to blend to sound.
Abbey Road introduced me to the Beatles and formed my taste in Classic Rock

Which brought me into Jimi Hendrix with his blues styling and way with a guitar

Which then brought me into Robing Trower, Who IMO is the white Jimi Hendrix

Which introduced me to Art Rock, Yes, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Etc.

Which somehow brought me into Blues Rock, Cream, Led Zeppelin

Which then led me into Metal, Dio, Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, Metallica,

I guess these albums shaped me to what I listen to today
I thought your name was a reference to yoshihiro akiyama

Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, ZZ Top, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Nine Inch Nails and others I don't recall developed my early taste.
A few years ago I was one of those kids who listened to a lot of Linkin Park, 30 Seconds to Mars, Pillar, Three Days Grace, Rise Against, Thousand Foot Krutch etc.
I proceeded then to listen to Rage Against The Machine and Rammstein.
Then...

Is where it all began.
Followed by

I promptly continued to
and the other Amorphis albums.
And finally,

I learned to appreciate just about all metal after that.

I'm going to be honest. I think this could possibly be one of the best albums ever. Changed my opinion of acoustic guitars and their potential
At first I only listened to generic bands like System of a Down but after hearing Tool and especially Kyuss my music taste was forever changed. These are the albums that started it all and led me to many other great bands:

^Got me into rock/alternative, I became insanely obsessed with Muse after hearing this album and Absolution.

^Got me into progressive rock/metal, i was blown away by the technical side of The Glass Prison. I've been trying to play that song on guitar for years and I only managed to do so a few months ago. DT is now my favorite band.
