I thought the point of buying an RX7 was to drive a rotary powered car?
rotaries from that year sucked dick, and they pretty much sucked dick through a lot of the next gen. They were heavy as balls and timebombs so switching in a v8 not only improved weight balance, but also fuel economy, power and reliability.
FCs are pretty much a bastard child engine swap dream

I wish I didn't like such shitty cars, this is very affordable to me ;_;
AMC Eagle. It runs. Apparently for a zombie apocalypse.
This is a 198x Amc eagle. It has a 258 inline 6 with an auto transmission. It has 85k original miles. This is a factory 4 wheel drive car. It has a brand new weber carb. We were preparing this thing to survive the looming zombie apocalypse.
This is a sweet project for someone. I have a title for it.
I have all the doors, back hatch, and a box of all the other parts I rounded up.
We will part it out if there is enough interest.
Asking $500 possible trades.
I saw one in pretty good shape on craigslist a few years ago. Wonder what happened to it. :(

By pretty good shape, I mean it had all the doors and most of the paint.

Gets up to 70hp before the turbo detonates.
Gets up to 70hp before the turbo detonates.
but... my stock Mk1 has 70 hp :v:
That's utterly pointless.
The VR6 could be transformed into a RWD with a combination of the 4Motion drive train.
And I'm pretty sure the VR6 would yield better results, more displacement, more maintenance, more everything, and LESS HOOD CUTTING and USING THE FUCKING BUMPER HOLE FOR A GOD DAMN POD FILTER!

but the 4WD Drivetrain is heavy as a whale and good luck finding MK1 VR6 Syncro :v:

If it still runs that would be a great car to get for the 24 Hours of Lemons. Since you'd be ripping out the interior, the stink and blood would most likely go with it, and those 4-cylinder engines are pretty easy to maintain.
