I'm gonna get allot of flak about this.
The chevy 350 is best thing to happen to it.
Honestly, most of the horribleness can be repaired in a few hours, a hood and a EFI conversion. Although the method of SPRAY FUCKING EVERYTHING RED in the engine bay might cause some issues.
Need this IN MY LIFE

He outright says it's rusty, that means it's probably rotten all the way through. Last started in '95. That's 18-19 years ago. That car's scrap.
It is an imported RHD S130 fairlady.
It's not an american 280ZX.
Go find one in better shape, in America, please.
Datsuns rust, they all rust. They all need repair. It happens. There are S30s and S130s in worse shape driving on the street. For the price, it's at least the start of a very rare shell and paperwork for a JDM import that would cost you ten times as much just to get here, let alone purchase and then work out HOW to transport it from Japan to the states. Then you have to pay to get it through customs...
The body alone is worth a few times his asking price, whether it be rusted away or just a rotten rust corpse with a VIN plate. It's worth what he's asking and then some just for the effort you'd have to go through to get something similar, and the money you'd have to spend to get something better could easily be spent (a fraction of it, even) and restoring this car.
Saying rusty cars are scrap is a slap in the face to most car enthusiasts. A lot of vintage cars have been restored from much worse a state than this automobile, and some of those are in better-than-new condition. Muscle cars, classic imports, all cars are going to need restored someday. Time goes on and newer cars rot just like older ones.
Devaluing a one-of-a-kind import because you don't understand what you're looking at is one of those "cock" things, just saying.

I apologize, I didn't get what I was trying to say across properly. I wasn't saying it was a bad car(though I had no idea how... unique this one was), I was trying to say that to do anything with it you'd want to do a full restoration. Fact is, a huge number of cars that have been restored have started off as scrap. I was just trying to say that it wouldn't be an easy project, though I worded it poorly.
Are these old datsuns really worth that much? Some guy near my job has one that looks pretty similar to this just sitting on his front yard wasting away.
I don't think you're understanding.
It's not just an old Datsun.
It is a grey market import Nissan Fairlady Z.
What makes an import one so special compared to a domestic one besides the steering wheel being on the right hand side?
We more or less get the base models compared to what they sold in japan, iirc.

1. Grey Market Cars are rarer
2. Grey Market Cars are not federalized
3. Grey Market Cars in California do not meet horsepower robbing CAFE or smog standards
But this car appears to have been federalized...

Doesn't matter, buy the truck, then sell the tires and get all the money back. Those Hoosiers aint cheap. Then you'll have a really decent race truck and some cash to actually put a motor in it.
But in all seriousness they remind me of wheels that came on earlier Jimmy's or a Silverado. I have no idea.

Yeah, I remember those wheels being on a pair of Silvy models I had as a kid, from Majorette. Was wondering if they were stock or a closely-tied custom. I was referring to the wheels on the Dakota, btw. I know where the ones on the Blazer came from.
The stock alloys on silverados looked kind of like those, but they're a bit different.

Definitely not the stock alloys. those are thicker, and don't have the smaller concentric circle between the spokes and the hub.

Now that is a justifiable price tag for that car, just make sure the mileage is official.

This is literally the most ricer car i have ever seen. It even has fucking lambo doors, for that full need for speed underground 2 feel.

sad thing is that i would've actually bought it, if it wasn't for the fact that i need to save up for a bunch of stuff before i'm able to justify buying a car.
