because that's what awd is, a bias split 4wd
It was just my opinion about the type of AWD system used by honda. The car ends up being very front heavy due to the transversely mounted engine, and the bias of the AWD system leans heavily towards the front wheels.
Why rate him dumb, this is how the CRVs awd works, though its 70/30 iirc. You can slide a stock crv around on dry pavement and kinda powerslide it suprisingly enough, considering the fwd bias you'd expect it to durr hurrsteer into a pole.
It's not really a 70/30. It's a 50/50 with viscous losses. The rear end mostly does nothing while you're going straight cruising so you can still get that good 2wd/fwd mileage due to low drivetrain losses but as soon as everything moves out of shape the rear clutches will lock. The rear end is very very similar to an automatic transmission. Honestly, I'd probably put it around 55/45 or 60/40 depending on rear end condition, tires and other factors. FWD doesn't mean it has to understeer either, some suspension tuning with swaybars and struts/springs can turn a asphalt plow into a oversteer machine. The Focus ST and the Integra Type-R are very good examples of that. [editline]27th March 2014[/editline]
It was just my opinion about the type of AWD system used by honda. If the rear end was light wouldn't it be more likely to oversteer anyways? -snip lol-
surely it's opposite?
if the rear was light, it'd push(understeer for you proper term noobs :v:) a shitload. Think about inertia, if you have a car with a light rear and you sling that bitch around a corner, the ass end is going to want to not move a whole lot, but since the front is heavier, its going to 'plow'.
Tell that to my old E30.
surely it's opposite?
It can work both ways from my racing experiences but I find that most times it's the heavier rear end that makes you slide and not a lighter one, although you can set a car up to push or oversteer with any weight distribution, the weight just helps with it. [editline]28th March 2014[/editline] Also is heavily dependent on the track surface, as dirt and such will lean more towards the heavy rear sliding and asphalt(depending on the condition) is likelier to push. Never mind my first post, I don't think I was thinking :v:
Why does the far west coast get all the nice cars for cheap? You could never get something like that in eastern Washington for a decent price. oh man that two tone soup.
I saw this.. I ask one thing.. WHY? http://fredericksburg.craigslist.org/cto/4376648554.html
Why can't anyone on Craigslist use the comma key or enter key? It's so hard to read a post when you list every single feature of the car in lowercase letters with absolutely no formatting besides a space between each
I saw this.. I ask one thing.. WHY? http://fredericksburg.craigslist.org/cto/4376648554.html
"Valued at 1400, asking 5500" Yeah no, nobody's gonna buy that, kid. Best to quit while you're ahead.
I think he means the spoiler was valued at $1,400
I wouldn't buy it just based on his grammar (or lack of it)
"Valued at 1400, asking 5500" Yeah no, nobody's gonna buy that, kid. Best to quit while you're ahead.
No shit no ones gonna buy it.. lmao
I think he means the spoiler was valued at $1,400
From what I can tell, he is saying that the body kit and the spoiler were valued at $1,400.
From what I can tell, he is saying that the body kit and the spoiler were valued at $1,400.
Or that. Yeah. I don't think he means "Entire car valued at $1,400, asking $5,400"
He could be talking about the car; I have to question humanity after viewing craigslist ads. I do not understand how some people actually function in life. Let alone reproduce.
You guys should check out the Bisman Automobiles section. You can sometimes find hillarious things, but other times... http://detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/cto/4388477553.html Why would you do this when you can buy a real Z3 for the same price?
I saw this.. I ask one thing.. WHY? http://fredericksburg.craigslist.org/cto/4376648554.html
Can someone translate this to English for me, I can't read it at all aside from its an Accord with some sort of engine swap?
I saw this.. I ask one thing.. WHY? http://fredericksburg.craigslist.org/cto/4376648554.html
That's an H23 out of a prelude, not an H22 widely regarded as the worst F/H series engine ever made
I found this one in 2011, thought it was pretty funny.
It is FWD based, the engine is transversely mounted in the engine bay, and I am almost 100% sure, the AWD system is only engaged when it detects slippage or it is a 90/10 split between the front/rear wheels.
That's exactly what it is. They were called "AWD" but it is just a slippage based system that routinely makes noise when the rear diff dries out. A lot of people on the crvowners forums thought they could disconnect the driveshaft going to the back to reduce parasitic loss. I Don't think it worked. I would totally buy a boosted Cr-v, just in the 2002 to 2004 body style, with a k24, not the B series Cr-v. Driving around in one of the early ones was like driving a secerely underpowered mini-van. They were small but lacked any movement power. That stock motor made like I think 120hp. The k24 was rated around 160 or something. They are also an excellent family car. I'd like to get my hands on one again. My ex crashed it into a phone pole and electrical junction box. I miss that car.

http://southjersey.craigslist.org/cto/4401457072.html Gurt damn I want this. Would be an ideal gofuckyaself cruiser with a built veeyate. Or swap in some nippon strong tarbo I6 for maximum meathead anger.
Damn that thing is cool, I'd buy it. :v: [editline]1st April 2014[/editline] 2jz swap for maximum anger
http://fortmyers.craigslist.org/chl/mcy/4368925049.html I've been trying to find a beginner bike. He says it's an offbrand 2013 250, but I'm not sure about it. Is it worth it? All the Ninja 250s in my area are 3,500+ and that's too expensive for me.
iirc Dongfangs are somewhat less than reliable.
I know very little about bikes but I can say I would hate for something to break on it and have to trash the bike because you cant get the part. Wile on a well known brand you can get every part under the sun. This is also why I tend to tell people first starting out on RC airplanes / heli's to get BRANDED stuff, you can alwase find the parts for them.
You can buy an actual REPUTABLE Chinese brand 200-250cc bike for half that. Lifan's a great brand to go with. Not quite that Jap build quality but still reliable enough to be driven, and there are parts distributors that you can get pieces for them through online easily and very cheaply. I think Extreme Scooters sells the Lifan 200cc sport bike for $1500 and charges a fee of, I want to say $75-100 to deliver it to a residential address. Yes, $1500 for a BRAND NEW one. And delivery. You can't beat it.
