yummy. All original just about? How many miles?
The engine was restored at about 100,000 miles--20 years ago, since then it's had 13,000 put on it. The tires aren't original, the previous owner put them on, along with a modern radio (thankfully he wasn't a dolt and didn't modify the body/dash to put it in). Everything else however is 41 years old with no restoration done. Even has the original alternator, still working. Although I don't think the previous owner took into account that the big ass sub he put in the trunk doesn't play nice with an alternator that old. Going to take the alternator out and box it up, then put a newer one in.
edberg can i have your wagon

My '70 GTO. Needs a paint job, some minor touches on a few pieces of the interior chrome, and new weather stripping but otherwise in perfect condition least as far as I can tell.
I know I'm sorry but I used to have a fiesta, and the Racing Puma owners club is very ooh la la. I'd rather chav-out in a car park eating Nandos.

Not that have the J-Body look. Besides, a turbo'd Cavalier will easily run 13's

because wet air intake
You're gonna get made fun of
Nice Cavalier dood
*Snip* wrong thread
And i thought i had MY intake in a bad place. Hm...best not drive in the rain eh? Actually, better not drive anywhere there is a chance there could be puddles of any size...
Haha apparently we have some car rookies in here... Anyone ever heard of an air bypass valve?
http://www.aemintakes.com/air_bypass_valve.htm
"Nah man, fuck putting my intake in a reasonable place, Imma just put it on top of the tire and put a bypass on it so when it rains and ruins the air intake i can still suck up air, whatev man i don give a fuk"
[editline]12th October 2011[/editline]
My point being you wouldn't NEED an air bypass valve if you would have put it the same spot everyone else does...Inside the engine compartment
[editline]12th October 2011[/editline]

Hm...
Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the general understanding of how air/pressure works suggest that the other end of the filter would still be sucking air even with a bypass valve in place. That thing would only limit the amount of draw on the main filter, not eliminate it completely. Therefore when it rains, moisture will STILL be finding its way into the intake. If it's completely submerged, the water will act as a blocker. Only then will the air bypass valve do its job and act as the main entry way for air.
Putting the air filter anywhere were there's a risk of getting soaked (right next to the tire) for a daily driver is fucking retarded.
Haha, wow.
Nice cavalier, can't say too many bad things about them honestly. The engine makes for a good boat anchor, body can be recycled for some good cash and those wheels are worth at least $20 a pop in aluminum scrap.
:)
You can pull cooler air in from some place not in the engine compartment. Thats why those things are called COLD AIR INTAKES. Moisture will not carry through the air with the way the pipe is routed. If water is sucked in it will form in droplets and drain through the down spot in the pipe. I can post a picture of that later. Wasn't really here to argue much with people. Not to mention the Cavalier is not my daily driver. And I don't have forced induction on it. Thats another day, but once that comes I will have a short ram air intake.
also whats with the air/fuel thing
also whats with the air/fuel thing
syk tuning apparatus, gotta have da narrowband afr
Dizzy, it doesn't matter which way the pipe is routed. If moisture is present, especially in large quantities like when it rains (duh?) it will ALWAYS remain in the air no matter how many twists and turns the air flows through.
