"Explain" Dude I was in that car for 30 seconds after the crash. My grandfather does stupid shit when it comes to cars.
He forgets to fill up on gas 24/7. Hes old. Way to old and I had no idea what he did to that car before I got it.
Probably took it to Walmart for oil changes or something. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but I doubt he did anything bad to the car.
I've never been near an elderly person that didn't baby their car.
I posted it in another thread but I guess it deserves to be here too.
The only pic of my truck looking relatively clean for once :D
I wish it was a manual. I got it from my grandfather when he got his new car. He needed space to carry him and his wife and I needed a car because my old one died (it was a year older than I am) The tacoma has been doing pretty good. The only thing I could wish for was a little more space in the cab and a v6.
and yes, its pretty funny to have this truck in the south. people always make fun of it until they see it loaded down with half a cubic yard of slate and able to move and accelerate with a 4 cylinder when theirs struggles with the same.
2rz is an awesome motor, your year injectors can hold about 10psi, the head gasket can handle about 12psi, the cranks can support ~400hp the connecting rods can go to about 17-20 psi.
easy as hell to turbo, has an oil port right above the filter, just tap the oil pan for a return. and get a wide band and a piggy back unit. u can make 250-300 hp all day.

Well if I ever get the money for that kind of think adding 100 to 150 horsepower to the little guy sounds like a lot of fun. How much does something like that cost and where can I find it?
the head gasket can handle about 12psi
The head gasket on my Civic is an OEM MLS gasket and can hold ~30PSI of boost.
???
Still, do agree. Great motor. Pretty much every Toyota motor is good, though, so it's a given.
Well some day when I have a couple thousand to drop on my truck ill add a turbocharger to it just for shits and giggles. This will be after I have my mechanical engineering degree and I will definately know how to do this kind of thing myself. I am joining the Air Force soon as an Airplane Maintenance Specialist. I figure once I get trained to work on a jet engine a truck motor should be simple.

mostly by pieceing, check out customtacos.com for info search around
there was one guy who cut a hole in his bed and ran the turbo back there and ran 12's but it was for shit and giggles cause it was one of the bought back trucks like my 98 4x4 was, 150% of blue book and all it has to do is show up not even under its own power.

thats the weak part the 3rz in the 4x4 gets forged internals but the rods are weaker and give around 10psi but make alot more power down low.

...What are you talking about? All 3RZs have a forged steel crank, everything else is cast. There was no difference in 2WD vs. 4WD applications. The weak part in all of the RZ engines is the rods and pistons, they are garbage. Everything else can handle about 18 PSI on a good tune, in fact you can really use the OEM rods/pistons for that too but seriously, there are much better engines to mess with.
3T, 20R, 22R, 4AGE, 4AFE -- 5 engines I'd put on the top five best Toyota 4 cylinder engines, almost in that order. Would rather use any one of those over the RZ series.
Then again, I wouldn't be using a truck anyways. And if I were, R series all the way...

Woah I didn't know they made the VR6 in the G4
Yeah it's a thing of beauty lol, it's a shame they don't put them in the Golfs anymore, not even the .:R line :( Replaced by the 4 cylinder turbo.
That thing is a sleeper! I like it a lot
lol it surprises some people, need turbo though :D And Thanks
Btw to those guys arguing about the CAI, my filter is located right behind my lower drivers side grille.
I've driven it in conditions that were so bad it was almost zero visibility on the freeway for 150+ miles, didn't have one problem :)
Also, puddles are fun.
Good to see another VR6 here, looks great.
Thanks :)
Where are the others hiding? Wunna see some Dub Love.

I don't really like Golfs, but eh.. can't complain about a car that cost me 250€. Bought it with a blown up engine for 200€ and then an engine for 50€.
Was actually quite surprised when I saw that it was completely rust free, didn't expect that for 200€.
You should sell it to Zotic, he'd love to buy it :>

Also I love Golfs, but only the old ones like that one and older.
Wow those look awesome.
