they are both my children, actually. The cadillac moreso, however.

2010 Nissan Versa Not an actual picture of it. 1.8L engine, 122hp and I'm happy with it. Not a great looking car, but hey, there's worse things out there. I'll post the actual picture some time soon.

You sit up straight like you are driving a truck and it has enough acceleration to do what you want. For the price it stands out to me compared to its competitors.

Fined how much?! Do you have a points system on your license over there too? I didn't get much paperwork with my ticket as I was pulled over for it, they gave me a yellow slip which I had to take to the local plod station along with my license, they did me a favour and lowered my recorded speed to 95mph so I didn't have to go to court and face a dangerous driving charge. Didn't keep the slip long as I didn't want the parents finding out but they found out a few months later after me being the idiot left my counterpart license laying around and they saw the 3 points but I told em it was for 35 in a 30.
Hey was cheaper than my "photo"....
Looks like the RCMP are trying to recover some cash from all their budget cuts, eh? :/

I took the slip to the police station and about 3 months later got 3 points and a £60 fine IIRC. Although I couldn't pull the whole 35 in a 30 thing with my parents as they saw the letter :v:
Fined how much?! Do you have a points system on your license over there too?
If A Redlight Or Mobile Van Camera gets you, its only a fine. Its like 1.70 per km over on top of the base fine. 25km/h over is $369.00 exactly for example. 50kph is $804.25. If you get pulled over by a Peace officer then you gets Points depending on the infraction. you get 1 point each year you have no tickets/accidents to a maximum of 20 Points for a nice 20% discount on your licence. You lose 5 points for an accident, and most infractions (run red light, speed, fail to signal) you loose 2 points. It's even $199.54 if you fail to use your turn signal.
Looks like the RCMP are trying to recover some cash from all their budget cuts, eh? :/
Actually the fines here are all set by Manitoba Dept. of Justice. Even have a document Called "The Brown Book" and lists every offence and Fine price.
95?! Yeesh! Where where you doing that? And what in?
On a pretty quiet dual carriageway. In my old 1.2 Vauxhall Corsa :v: I'd actually hit about 105 but as I was pretty easy to deal with for them they did me a favour and reduced the recorded speed to 95 to avoid me being summoned to court for it. The design fault with the Corsa C was that the rear headrests blocked half of my rear view mirror and the rear window was also tinted so when it was dark you couldn't see much out of it and if a dark coloured car was sat right on your bumper you had no idea it was there. You can imagine my surprise when my rear view mirror was suddenly lit up with blue lights!

The car felt like it was going to fall to bits and was getting a dangerous amount of steering judder at 85! So I slowed down. Although, the car did have two passengers and loaded (overloaded...) with camping gear.

The car wasn't too bad at that speed to be honest although I wouldn't have held much hope for the brakes if I had to make a sudden stop, it was a nice straight and nothing (or so I though) about so I thought I'd test it out. Can't believe the pistons didn't come flying through the bonnet, the engine was howling! Managed to get 120 on the clock (113 on the Satnav) when I was sent out in the work car 1.2 Renault Clio. When you join the M6 toll road there's a nice long stretch downhill and there's never much traffic about. Now that's one car that really shouldn't ever see those kind of speeds!
Hey was cheaper than my "photo"....
Here too, in quebec, they are also going to put over 50 000-60 000 "Cash sucking machine" around here, i hate jean charest more than ever now, i wonder how much it could cost to go at 180 kph at a 90 kph limit zone, because im doing it often in long and empty area. But i usualy get that fast when i street race with random car.
I hit 110 a while back without any trouble at all, never even grabbed the last gear. I would love to try and max it out but it's all desert around here, they'd probably get me with a plane or something from 300 miles away, who knows...plus there aren't very many good straight roads once you get farther away from the city, at least from what I've seen. Cops everywhere, too
solution, get a friend to go with you, stop where you want to start and then have the friend drive out to a certain distance to check for cops. if none, test car.
On the way to my sisters, husbands work, it has a 20 mile long, completely straight road. He's maxed out both my sisters Soul, and his 09' Ram.

But 8 years on, its probably like 90mph? haa
-snip- wrong thread
My dad's car, a Renault 21 Nevada of 1988. This baby will be mine.
My 240SX's governor kicked in at 115mph. Cut the speed sensor on the ECU, and then it would go around 135. I miss that car. :[
My car could apparently hit 145mph (230km/hr) when it was new. Fastest I've been in it was around 120mph (190km/hr) but its auto-tradgic and I left it in "sports" mode which disables overdrive. This was out on the way to Roma which is flat open roads and the only things to watch out for are kangaroos and cows (which will wreck your car if you hit even at 100km/hr)
The good ol' Prelude underestimates her own top speed. In the book it's listed as 142 but I've managed just over 150 before it bounced off the redline and the speedo reads a tiny bit low so it could have been 152. Does 120 in 4th Gear, crazy tall gearing for engine size :v:
Kinda how mine is, like i said i was still in 4'th gear doing 110 and i was just barely over cruising-speed-rpm's. Then again, seeing as how he put posy in the rear i think he may have changed the gears, too. Still though, I shutter to think what i could top it out at, never even tried
I can get to 65 in 2nd, but I only have 4 gears and reverse.
