RNA insertions don't last long enough in the system to work effectively. I asked the same thing of my doctor 8 years ago.
That was 8 years ago though, times have changed and it couldn't hurt to ask again.
It never ceases to amaze me how quickly facepunch falls into attention threads like this, then continues to argue even when it devolves into the OP going "I'm telling the truth because I said so now go away stop questioning me"
This'll probably go on for weeks
This was awesome
But woefully short.
I'm all up for the thread dying (unless the OP wants to sue or shit).
Threads like this are always the same.
"I have a condition, I will die.
No sir, I will not sue.
I will not attempt to take the best chance I have at surviving,
I will pray to god I get lucky and something comes along to fix it."
Im not saying you are a liar. But you got lucky with the new insurance company thing.
At the same time, Im very skeptical of your case. Because in a potential life or death situation, any sane person would do what they could to survive.
But its okay. Out of 'boredom' you called another insurance company.
its human growth hormone?
that just doesn't cause nearly enough withdrawal symptoms to kill you like you're saying it will
and even if this experimental form does, you could simply walk into a hospital once you spontaneously start dying and they would be forced to treat you.
[editline]11th February 2012[/editline]
oh unless i'm misunderstanding you, do you really not have access to the medication through any local hospitals?
is the only way to get it via shipping?
no hosptial carries it because it is considered a special order medication, the withdrawal symptoms and the whole life and death thing is based on my doctors statements and things I have read in various studies over the years.
the drug is a human growth hormone that stimulates development, whereas if I had not started the therapy, my development would have slowed to a halt.
Actually threads like this tend to be everyone rating hearts and crying, while dumb rating any one who dares to question them until some one popular/with a high post count comes along and questions them and is flooded with agrees, then the thread ends for a few months until some one resurrects it and there's a new storm of people going "Oh I hope he's ok" followed by "Last activity yesterday, I guess they're alright"
Probably
By the way why is a growth hormone treatment that costs thousands of dollars per vial thats used to stimulate your development going to mysteriously insta-kill you the moment you aren't taking it

I have answered every question I can, whether or not you believe anything anyone posts is your problem
I have answered every question I can, whether or not you believe anything anyone posts is your problem
no you didnt you just said
"1) the condition is not officially named due to its variances but is simply known as an IGF1 deficiency"
Oh it's a mysterious drug with no name that costs thousands
Followed by
"I'm not an attention whore, making threads just to receive heart ratings and sympathy. But thanks for playing. "
Stop questioning me please go away
You're really crap at this huh

once again, I am speaking out of what my doctor has told me and I have read about in clinical studies. I don't have experience with it, as I have not died before.

But you refuse to sue or tell any one outside of the internet because they might 'over react' to you dying
and you wont go into any specifics because apparently its not that big of a deal given how insanely casual you are about it
'Oh well I'm going to die if I don't get treatment within a month so I'll post a thread on facepunch'
its not his condition that would kill him, but the loss of the constant supply of the drug on his body:
yep, like I said, withdrawal symptoms.

I mentioned the drug name in that exact post, for the second time: it is a variant of Somatropin and has a brand name of Norditropin. The manufacturer that mine comes from is Novo Nordisk.

anyway you cant be serious about this
if you just wanted advice on the situation, you would have named the thread something sensible like "help me figure out a way to get this drug" and given a lot of information right away in the op
instead, you made a sensationalistic thread title claiming you were going to die in a month, and left out a ton of info.
"Norditropin® can cause serious side effects, including: high risk of death in people who have critical illnesses because of heart or stomach surgery, trauma or serious breathing (respiratory) problems; high risk of death in children with Prader-Willi syndrome who are severely obese or have breathing problems including sleep apnea; return of tumor or cancerous growths; high blood sugar (hyperglycemia); increase in pressure in the skull (intracranial hypertension); swollen hands and feet due to fluid retention; decrease in thyroid hormone levels; hip and knee pain or a limp in children (slipped capital femoral epiphysis); worsening of pre-existing curvature of the spine (scoliosis); middle ear infection, hearing problems or ear problems in patients with Turner syndrome."
So which one of those do you have?

the decrease in thyroid hormone levels, and the worsening of my scoliosis. At my first X-Ray, the scoliosis was originally at 6 degrees left and is now at 11 degrees left.

I have called them so many fucking times over several months that I have lost count. They keep telling me to talk to CVS Caremark who is the actual supplier for the drug

So it's now been several months that they've been adamantly denying you the life saving drug that kills you in a month
And you don't want to persue legal action or anything like that
And you don't want to tell any one outside of the internet because they might overreact
There's something suspicious about this that I can't quite put my finger on

I already told some of my closest friends, word spread, and people started flipping out about it so I decided to post this, wondering if anyone has had or knows anyone who has had an experience like this with a company.
i dont know why asdroxia is trying to dig for logical fallacies in your posts
I just think you're a dick for making an over-the-top thread with information purposefully left out, and then pulling the "its too late, I am just a helpless victim of the system" card instead of actually doing something about your situation

if you would kindly read back a bit, you would see that I called the insurance company my doctor suggested, and they said that they would cover the medication. The person I spoke to (some nice old man from the south) said that this was not the first time he had heard somone being torn off by insurance

So there's no issue and you aren't going to die in a month then
so you made the sensationalist thread before taking the obvious first step of action recommended by your doctor that ended up working out for you?
yeah that doesn't sound like attention seeking to me, no sir
But everyone has been telling you to persue legal action and you wont because apparently dying isn't a big deal
For the ninth time, I am still unsure about pursuing legal actions because of the monetary risks involved, if I win the case: huge bills to pay, if I lose the case: no bills to pay, a little bit of shame, and another insurance company who is willing to pay for it
Wait you've had this problem for several months, why did you wait until now to do it, and why did you make a thread about it, unless you called them as everyone was arguing with you and sorted it out in 5 seconds
so you made the sensationalist thread before taking the obvious first step of action recommended by your doctor that ended up working out for you?

I called the doctor at home right after making this, and asked for the company he uses and decided to make the call
I called the doctor at home right after making this, and asked for the company he uses and decided to make the call
Why didn't you do it when the life saving medication was cut off all those months ago
Why wait until you could make a thread on facepunch for it, then immediately sort it out, then begin arguing about it for several pages before revealing you fixed the issue immediately after you posted you had it
