i've kinda got it really lightly. I just kinda ignore it, wash my face everyday with clearashit(it is probably the best thing out there for me atm), wash when i get home from school, before i go to bed, don't pick em ect.
standard shit
Keep it natural is better on the long run. No way im going to medicate myself for this shit.
I've always hated pimples, and even though I only have blackheads on my nose and the occasional spot, it still made me extremely self concious.
Girls are lucky with acne in a sense, as we can plaster our faces with make up to cover it, or just go on the contraceptive pill and watch it clear up (with other side effects..)
Guys could try these things but unless you're a transvestite it's not really recommended haha.
There's so many kinds of facial washes on the market that are meant to work wonders but I honestly believe they do nothing acne-wise, only leaving your skin FEELING squeeky clean or dry.
You can try improving your diet to help your skin from the inside out, but this will take a lot of time and willpower to see results.
If your acne really is bad and effecting your life, you really should go and see a doctor/dermatologist. Although you may feel embarrassed having someone analyzing your skin, and annoyed at having to pay for the consultation/treatment, it really is worth it. I have so many friends who have cleared up their faces thanks to medicine, and are so much more confident.
However, there are the odd few who have no improvement whatsoever, or cannot bear the side-effects, and if this is the case the only thing you can do is yell at your parents for their crap genetics and wait until your skin eventually calms itself down. Oily skin is apparently less prone to early wrinkles so you'll look a lot better than your friends in a few decades lol!
But seriously, acne is just something on your face, when you see someone with acne you probably just think 'he/she has pimples' and carry on with your daily life. You don't reflect back and analyse how hideous they look or something shallow as hell.
Celebrities have acne too, it's just something you have to get used to:
I take Doxycycline 2 times a day, and use tretinoin creme on my face at night. I also wash my face like 3 times a day.. Been doing this for a very long time, and it isn't working.
At all.
That's what I'm talking about, the system you're using is fantastic, but if it will not make it go away, then only time and growing out of it will. I wouldn't worry about it, honestly, it will go away on it's own.
By the way if you mention this system to any Dermatologist, they'll tell you to continue it and not stop because you've got a good thing going, and every product your using has benefits. Doxycycline and tretinoin is good stuff, and works on all skin types *very rare it doesn't*, I'm actually not sure if you can become immune to doxycycline, my GP and derm told me it takes a VERY long time that you do.

Yeah, but I'm 18 man, I'm not growing anymore..
Sunlight is an amazing acne cure, get a tan.
This is only good in the short term, it ups your risk for getting skin cancer and that risk is even higher if you're using acne medicines. My aunt did this and by the time she was 25 she had to deal with wrinkles AND acne simultaneously.
I get a little on my upper lip.
That usually happens after the skin gets irritated from shaving.
I keep the rest at bay with Salycic Acid.
Works much more effectively than Benzoyl Peroxide.
I occasionally get acne. What I do is, when i get in the shower, i spend a few minutes wiping my face. I don't use soap, just running hot water and my hands. It keeps the natural oils on and helps to get rid of the excess.
I get these really really deep pimples on my chin sometimes... but not very often... when i do get them it's horrible though, they take months to heal.
I have meds for them but the meds aren't very effective, gonna see the docs and get them to beef up the mg count.
Ask your doctor about Accutane, I've been using it for about 4 months, works pretty damn well. Also alot of people need to understand there's alot of genetics involved in acne.
People "prescribing" alcohol, you should know that it's not caused by bacteria, it's actually over stimulation of pores caused by hormones. Alcohol hurts your skin and only stimulates the skin ever more, so it's not a good thing to do at all.
And accutane is only for the seriously bad acne.
I hate my genes.
Yeah, but I'm 18 man, I'm not growing anymore..
Well I'm not much of an expert on this thing now, but at this point you should probably talk to whoever gave you the prescriptions. It will clear, and it can take time.

But that's not what he's saying to look like. A tiny bit of coverup never made anyone look gay.
Everyone hates acne. There's nothing good about it.
How bad does the acne need to be before you can go to a doctor about it? I don't think I'm trying hard enough to get rid of it, but some posts here are kind of discouraging me when it comes to shop bought products.
I have blackheads, I pop them for fun.
There almost invisible unless like right against my face so I got lucky.
My hair also goes down to my lips and all my acne is right below my hair for some reason.

Anyone else find popping pimples on their jawline satisfying as fuck?

And the ones on the lip line hurt like fuck
Lol puberty
Here's how to prevent. Man you guys really aren't kidding are you?
Shower each day.
If you have long hair then cut it (mandatory) (not really, but still, do it)
Use face wash and don't stop! You can't just use face wash now and then and expect it to work, take it each day, morning and night. After you wake up and before you go to sleep. It will get worse in the beginning, but there's a solution to that too.
Skin lotion. Because your skin really dries out after using facewash, so always put this on afterwards, unless you like peeling your skin off.. Sicko
and last but not least: Use makeup goddammit

fuck, you will need this shit. it's mandatory if you want to at least look decent while the face wash is doing its job. Don't be afraid to buy it. The clerks don't give a shit about you, all they want is money, they don't care what you buy, so just do it.
Makeup is for girls.
You do most people on TV wear make-up including the guys its just not visible.
Well, obviously it's visible, else there would be no point in using it :downs:
