Tape fire extinguishers to his wheel chair?
Take her to a friends house. Have your friends mum talk to your mum. Hopefully a friendship will emerge

If you edit within a minute or so, it doesn't show up.

Regardless of what some of the angsty atheist of FP think, faith can be good for some people.

don't be a flaming atheist. church or any other religious institution offers the kind of support and friendship she needs right now.
personally I'm an atheist, but there's nothing wrong with a little opiates here and there.

Even atheist can get friends.
As a former lutheran, I wish you luck with the church. Just don't get too deep into it and go broke from the donations.
Name, join date, well formulated but obviously untrue story.
OP is almost certainly trolling. The story is just to tragic to be real.
Oh wait, what the fuck! How the hell did this suddenly turn into a religious debate? Like seriously, is there anything else you guys can focus on? This thread isn't even about religion yet your somehow turning it into a flame war!

I agree with this possibly being a beg for hearts story.
But what the hell are you talking about? Where is the religion flame war?

Wait, do you think that tragedy is fake? Tragedy happens in everyday lives all the time.

It seems to happen to Greed E every hour.
Bring her to a swinger's meeting. That should get her more involved in the community.
This is a really depressing thread. I read all of your replies.
I hope everything goes well, I really have compassion for your mom, and I feel like I can relate.
Don't let her go and fill her gap of pain with faith, she'll probably convince herself that god will fix all her problems.
My dad is a lonely fuck who drinks and does stupid stuff every weekend, he's convinced god will fix his problems and find him a girlfriend.
He's been thinking that for the past 10 years, and he still has nothing.
Faith doesn't help, it's just a disillusioned temporary happiness.

I'm agnostic myself and am against religion in general, but I have to disagree with you. I think the more... gullible, openhearted people can benefit. Not to say gullible as an insult, just, more willing to believe in ideas. It's a shame about your dad, but not everyone reacts to faith that way. For the more successful people I know who are religious, the happiest have a new, more productive outlook on life; they don't expect a magical fix to fall from the sky.
But I'm not going to advocate religion. However, she could make friends and get a sense of community this way, same as school, hobby classes, etc. etc.
I say she needs to talk to a psychologist straight away. Op I don't want to startle you, but if what you just said is true then there is fair chance that at some point in the future she might try to harm herself, or someone else (Namely you) You are going to have to be strong and ring up a helpline of some kind and organize a meeting with you and your mum to have a talk with a professional. It may help a lot.

I get pretty happy pondering the improbability that I was born at all, especially into western society in such a brilliant time as this. I also like to explore metaphysics, philosophy, and human perception.
So naturally religion is counter to me achieving true happiness through delving into these things.
Find out the stuff that makes you happy before you outright turn to religion, as you might find it restrictive to you being truly happy.
Aim to better yourself as a human, start by finding stuff that makes you happy.
