Atheists verse the Religious, are we really better?

I don't have any problem with Christianity. Whether you believe in it or not, it teaches a lot of good principles but sometimes nutjobs take it a bit extreme.
Ahahahaha, FP atheists.
Are you really, honestly, seriously expecting this to do anything but turn into the polar opposite of the word 'debate'?
I believe that my own choices affect my future, and there isn't some creator above choosing shit for me. I'm dependant on myself, and very happy about that. I like being my own man, an that's why I don't believe in a super godly power up above.
Also this thread is going to be the epitome of religious shitstorm, I suggest immediate evacuation
Religion obviously, they defeated the largest atheist force in WW2 not that I agree with that just that I would have preferred religion not have existed in this world.
hey hey hey everyone listen to this
not all christians are fundimentalist retards that everyone's anti-religion argument is based off of
i want a logical, simple argument on why religion is bad that doesn't include anything specific to abrahamic religions or a specific sect of one of the abrahamic religions. if someone can do this you will pretty much have made the best argument against religion ever made in a thread on this forum.

"Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?"

If you fucking atheists think you're so goddamn right, you should read the fucking bible.
To answer all of these:
1.He is willing and able, it is stated he has decided a time to fuck all of you guys over.
2.^
3.Evil came from God's son Lucifer, the most beautiful of all the angels. He wanted God's throne. First sin since ever so he was cast down. Evil right there.
4.Again, this fucking epicurus guy apparently never read the fucking bible.
All you atheists are goddamn idiots.
This isn't about religion per-say. Its about how atheists (lack of religion) have became more radical and less understanding on their cousins who practice religion.
no actually they're both pretty much on par in the radical department
I personally don't care if anyone is religious or an atheist, what I care about if they bash their believes to other persons.

It's not true.
I have many atheist friends who are against abortion. Why are you generalizing it like that?
Because there are a lot of christians, especially in the US, who want to ban abortion.

hey man not all althiests
but seriously, that. most people pull some bullshit fire-and-brimstone argument as to why religion is bad, when half of the evidence they pull is specific to fundimentalist christianity and not christianity as a whole.
And of course, just because you may have proved christianity bullshit doesn't mean all religions are bad, only one of them.

So why did he not simply remove Lucifer? Was he not willing, or able?
If he was not willing, why worship him? If he was not able, why call him god?
You completely overlooked the meaning of the quotation.
Shit like this is why I'm so against religion. It causes blind worship and it causes people to discount arguments and evidence without any evidence to support discounting it.

I see what you're getting at but by flaming, you're not really helping your cause.

god created the heaven and the earth. maybe there's other places that lucifer could chill that god can't touch him?
PS the bible is just a book to interpret the basic rules of christianity, none of it is to be taken as literal fact or used in an argument for or against religion, because it is literally paper thin.
There are some people who need to grow up on both sides. Who cares what religion you are, its what you believe in. Shouldn't matter to you what anyone else believes in.
god created the heaven and the earth. maybe there's other places that lucifer could chill that god can't touch him?
Which means he is not able. Why call him god?
He was discounting the quotation, while it still remains correct.

I'd take the stories as more of an allegory or metaphor than anything; but doesn't the bible explicitly say not to cherry-pick from it? At what point does the bible become fiction or fact if the majority of it is fiction? Who decides that?
Which means he is not able. Why call him god?

In the Bible he created hell and sent him there to go chill. He doesn't want to destroy his soul though because he loves all of his creation.

I'm just making an observation here, but you're kind of a douche.
You blatantly insult our intelligence by posting such an obvious question and expecting a thorough answer, when clearly the thread answers itself.

Which means he is not able, or willing. I'm not using this as grounds for a religious debate, but arguing that the quotation retains its validity.
Being Religious or an Atheist doesn't make you better or worse than someone, just different.

Because it breeds doubt in evidence and facts.
The burden of proof relies on the bearer, and religion discounts that.
I wish Rusty was online, so I could tell him to lock this.

I'm a Christian, but you're just a dumbass. I hope you're trolling.
Atheists verse the Religious, are we really better?
noyou are not
It just annoys me when Atheists group religious people in to a general group. I'm a Christian, but I'm pro-choice, and I'm fine with stem cell research. Let me believe what I wish to.
