2) Don't use banks Especially in America because the government keeps dicking around with all the big banks. Instead buy a safe a big one.
This is the exact mentality that is destroying our economy. "THE SYSTEM ISN'T SAFE SO TAKE ALL OF OUR MONEY OUT OF IT." This is the cause of the great depression. They panicked, took all of their money out of banks and sold all of their stocks. With the banks having no money and companies having no shareholders the whole system just disintegrated. The system is faith based. And if you want the economy to get better, the best way you can help is to have faith in it. [editline]04:59PM[/editline] Oh my god this is an old thread.
This is dumb, banks are fine. I myself use a Credit Union, which is like a bank, but has some advantages and disadvantages. Plus, you make interest.
FYI, if your interest is lower than the inflation, you're actually losing money. Not saying you shouldn't save money though.
My mother told me not to listen to crazy morons
I doubt anyone wants to listen to a < 16 year old when it comes to managing money, but I suppose this might help someone.
I'd rather listen to someone under the age of 16 than an ageist.
I already buy used stuff. Amoeba = :h:
If you're starting out with investing I suggest an index fund, that way you're diversified. It's probably the safest you can be when dealing with the stock market.
You are giving an advice on how to manage money, and say that you shouldn't use banks? Are you an idiot? I'm just going to stop here, because I'm assuming you're an idiot.
I was born into a family where my mom worked at a bank and my dad was stingy as hell, so together they really rised me to manage my savings well. Still, I feel like I save the most money by not drinking/smoking and mostly buying things that make me feel happy for a long time. I have never taken a loan either, maybe 2 or 3 times from a friend and they have always been less than 10€. I'm 22, and from a financial point, my life is perfect for me.
I'd rather listen to someone under the age of 16 than an ageist.
Depends if the < 16 year old knows what he's talking about. I do hate ageists, though. [editline]01:12AM[/editline] Just realised that this was a bump...
ageists
:colbert:
