ADD is way too general to be a disorder, the child just needs to be fucking normal.
What is wrong with people here
If only I could show you videos of when I was 10 you would probably change your mind. I've long grown out of ADHD but goddamn I was one hyperactive bastard child.
Like most 10 year olds.
Well, thanks for the warning...I think? I would have never taken it either way.
I have all those symptoms... Well, most... Not tourettes... But I wonder if I took it and it reversed those symptoms that I have from taking Life. Then give me tourettes...
Your parents failed.
Yeah no, my parents are great and they do their best to help me. Get out troll.
I used to take concerta, Now I take adderall, Its alot better then concerta.
I used to take concerta, Now I take adderall, Its alot better then concerta.
I used to take Aderal, that was after I took Ritelin, now I take concerta. It's a lot better than both of them. It all depends on the person.
Certain kids just have a lack of respect, not any other this so called diseases. STORY TIME I mean today I smashed one of these "people" in the face because they wouldn't shut up when the teacher was telling them to shut up, and they still didn't shut up, so I did it again, but then he got the message, and the teacher rewarded me for doing so.
I don't believe in ADHD or ADD. Just excuses to medicate children.
Then get ADD and go without medication for sixteen years, like I have, and see how you like it.
Then get ADD and go without medication for sixteen years, like I have, and see how you like it.
Or even 19 years. ADD is real and is a bitch to live with. But on the other hand, since I am a musician it does help with my drumming... "Ooh, I wanna hit that drum now, ooh now that one, hey this is a cool beat, hmm, I'm gonna change it up now, ooh! A crash cymbal!!!"
Yeah no, my parents are great and they do their best to help me. Get out troll.
Bullshit, with a capital fucking B. When a doctor suggested that I have ADHD and prescribed medication, my mother gave him the "GTFO nobody drugs my son". We got home, my ass got kicked, and varnsen never fucked around in school ever again.
I have figured something out, I suffer from chronic schizophrenia before taking my meds, this may make me nervous, jittery. those ....... I am now angry at the doctors. I had schizophrenia way before I was diagnosed for ADHD so I am saying I was young it is rare but they said I had adhd now my schizophrenia is worse, what the hell.
Placebo, no?
I have ADHD. And OCD. Sometimes, i'm just uncontrollable. It is real.
Why does that sound exactly like a stupid excuse to do whatever you want? I can see this type of attitude playing out into your future. "I'm sorry I killed that hooker, judge, but really, I just couldn't control myself!"
Placebo, no?
Exactly. Kids are told that they are fidgety and inattentive by their parents and given medication for it, so some of them may even force the behavior. And that's not even to say that kids who actually are inattentive or hyperactive have any diagnosable mental disorder, it's probably just a part of their personality.
Mm...with concerta, I always have to choose between taking and being able to focus, but not being able to access all of my mental resources and tackling a problem from every angle with all of my knowledge, or not take concerta, and be able to think and solve my problems with all my massive mental assets but not have the focus to carry out the solutions. :/ Then there's adderall...I was on it for a long time. Made me sickeningly underweight, for a long time I weighed less than my little brother who was 6 years younger than I was. Then there's Strattera. Does shit for me. Found out it may have been because my doctor neglected to tell me I'm supposed to eat cheese whenever I take it.
Well THIS explains why I feel so odd after taking it.
No shit, you're taking stimulants.
http://www.whale.to/vaccines.html these can't be All fake maby some maby none , it is the government so very secret and scary... I personally have no idea if they are fake.
You should get your pipes checked for lead and stop eating massive amounts of tuna or shellfish if you seriously believe that website.
It's amazing how people got through childhood for thousands of years before this without these medications, isn't it?
You didn't need to sit in classrooms for an hour a thousand years ago. That's where the whole hunter/farmer ADHD theory comes in: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hunter_vs._farmer_theory
Why does that sound exactly like a stupid excuse to do whatever you want? I can see this type of attitude playing out into your future. "I'm sorry I killed that hooker, judge, but really, I just couldn't control myself!"
It's not IMPOSSIBLE to control yourself, it's just a lot harder than it is for other people. I have an attention span of about 10 seconds on - 2 minutes off during speeches without the pill. There's scientific backing for that regarding dopamine receptors. We're impulsive. We act before we think. And you can't un-do that, it's hard wired into our brains. The pill makes it so that everything we do is constantly stimulating us. For instance, where our minds would immediately pay attention to a pin dropping during a boring speech (this could mean a life or death situation in the wild - a wild animal brushing up against a leaf perhaps?), the stimulants make the boring speech just as interesting as the pin dropping - so to speak. Concentrating for people with ADHD is like sprinting your fastest. Or trying to not to blink. You'll just forget about it eventually. Obviously, if you repetitively beat someone every time they lose concentration, eventually they will stop, but then they'll also develop EXTREME anxiety disorders. We would end up in an psych-ward. It's like punishing someone for sleeping. Though not that extreme, but along the lines. Hope I made this clear
I had a hard time focusing on important stuff. I got tested and I have ADHD. I took focalin for a while and that stuff works great, but it is a controlled substance that needs a doctors note for each refill. But then I grew up and stopped taking meds that change my personality that was marked as a "condition" I have a bottle left that hasn't expired yet and every one in a while a take some and then stare at a computer monitor for hours without moving my eyes at all. It feels cool when your body hasn't adjusted to it
Normally I'd call you a spammer for digging up an old topic, but with such an informative post...I'm confused.
ADHD and ADD are bullshit conditions, Children have always had problems focusing on stuff and being the general hyperactive cunt.
Mate, I would punch you if I could punch you through this screen.
Concerta is an ADHD controlled medication. It makes you: Iritable Angry Sad Upsets You Stomache Gives You Headaches Heart Palpations Can Give you Tourette syndrome and make you schizophrenic. A way better adhd medication is aderal XR No side affects like concerta, I never knew this and i had been suffering for 2 and half years don't be a victim like me. insomnia
I've always been irritable and angry because of my anger management problems. I'm never sad for no reason. I don't have any heart palpations. Never had any stomach problems or headaches for that matter. I already have Tourettes and always had. And I'm not schizophrenic. And i've been doing this medicine for a month and i had most of those "problems" since i can remember. I think you're just being paranoid
Because of his ADHD he couldn't pay attention to the post date.
It made me go insane, used to use them back in tenth grade. I was having trouble with my grades. Anyway, my brother's friend visited and annoyed the crap out of me. I was busy studying, when he threw me with paste. I blacked out and woke up under my desk. My mom told me, my eyes had gone white, I was screaming gibberish and that I had lifted him (My bro's friend) off the ground with one hand clasped around his neck. I still can't recall anything that took place that day. I've been off concerta since that day.
I'm sick of people saying this I have A.D.H.D, with my medication I am very jittery, have trouble paying attention, and love doodling
Welcome to procrastination, you'll encounter it a lot in life.
I believe that the conditions are real but that they are way too overdiagnosed and that the vast majority of people who truly believe they have it, don't. It seems like a condition that's diagnosed in order to make people feel better about themselves and chalk all their problems down to not being their fault because "I HAVE ADHD", which they use constantly as an excuse.
Apparently, I had ADHD or the sort when I was a kid and I never took anything for it. :sax: Nor do I ever plan to, for that matter. The less pills I take, the better.
All children can be distracted. All children have times when they start something they don't finish: a long book, a craft project, or a household chore. However, if it is more persistent, frequent and severe than their peers, that's a disorder. It's called ADHD.

My friend once told me he had to take an ADHD test where questions were asked about his behaviour. It was also asked to the parents. They'd give an amount of point you had, depending on the result. He told me that something like >=17 points was probable adhd and he got 16 points. I mean he could just say one thing wrong and he could be diagnosed with adhd now, even if he didn't have it.
