autotune is for tonedeaf faggots with no talent fact
What the fuck is G-core?
Wow.
Anything with auto-tune is automatically a piece of shit.
Haha what! If you're gonna ban auto-tune you might aswell ban other non-natural vocal effects like reverb/delay.
autotune is kind of like cheating in most cases. It's like a way to cover up how shit you are at singing. But some voice effects can be used for a different sound. So no, not using autotune doesn't mean you shouldn't use voice effects at all. For instance, Sybreed make cool use of a vocoder There are better examples but I can't remember any just now. Iron Man, by Black Sabbath. The bit at the start, voice effect etc
I have NO understanding why you would use autotune if you can sing really well. Prime example is Stevie Wonder using it. Hmmm...
What the fuck is G-core?
I'm guessing 'gangsta core' or something. :v: like gangsta rap + core.

don't be such a busta
Nooo haha, Stevie Wonder did not need it. There's two ways to use Auto-Tune. To clear up a mistake, but not make it obvious to the listener, or make it blatantly synthesized (T-Pain / Cher). I see no problem with the latter, it's cool, but it's been made a pop music cliche so it's become stale, ordinary, and annoying sometimes. A myth about Auto-Tune is that it cures shit singing. It really doesn't. (That would be a bitch for the engineer / producer to edit too.) To get an optimal result out of it, the vocals need to be close to what you're transposing it to. People who use it in the 'blatant' style can sing. It's a tool to give the song a certain feel (or $$$$), somewhat like guitar pedals. [editline]23rd October 2010[/editline] I'm willing to bet a lot of your favorite metal bands have vocals with subtle Auto-Tune.
Kanye West for example, can't sing for shit. Yet his autotune album managed to be pretty good.
Autotune can be used if only to touch up the odd note that you miss during a recording, but that's all it is acceptable for I would say. The point of autotune is to make it sound right. You shouldn't be able to notice it.
Autotune is pretty much in a world of its own. Rock doesn't work that well with heavy autotune, or yet to hear of any. Pitch correction to patch up a vocal is a different issue, which literally no people care for.
In a world of its own? How so? But the rest of your post, definitely. I'm certain we'll never hear a case where 'aggressive' pitch correction sounds good in Rock and all it's sub-genres. In pop (or parody) it's totally fine. My only complaint is overuse and misuse.
I paused toxic holocaust for that shit? that's just wrong.

Not the pop candy stuff, I'm talking about the more slow rnb usage. I don't think it happened with Cher because her voice destroyed the autotune rather than the other way around.
Its really flowing mang...
