apparently pacific rim was gonna have a mexican jaeger, but the budget didn't allow for it. It'll be in the sequel though.
Sequel?
Yeeep. Del Toro's been talking about it since last July, and writers were hired in December.

I guess the Mexican one runs on Tequila.
i'll be disappointed if it doesn't have something resembling a sombrero
but really, a sequel? i don't even care if it's bad, i just want to see more giant robot monster bashing

Haven't they set up a whole extended universe for it already? They want this to be big.
But something that big would never move that way.
I'm not really sure what is meant by ninja moves because uh evg sucks a fat one, but the idea that something can't be agile because its big is entirely untrue.
It depends entirely on what its made out of. Humans for example, contrary to popular belief muscular people are more capable of greater speed because of fast twitch muscle fiber. The power drives the acceleration.
A huge thing of hydraulics and shit?? IDK yeah its probably not going to be agile, but that doesnt rule out some possible design that allows it to move in an agile fashion.
they could have Myomer joints like Battletech robots do, or something else that has to do with artificial muscles that react to electrical current

I am indeed crying inside, even more after reading those comments.
pacific rim 2 is already greenlit and the first has garnered enough interest to break more than even once it opens
i wouldn't be worrying

Guillermo del Toro's movies are shot entirely at night.

I love how clear the fight is. Most CGathons use dumbass camera angles and tricks and shit to hide fights / bad CG (looking at you Bay)
I love how clear the fight is. Most CGathons use dumbass camera angles and tricks and shit to hide fights / bad CG (looking at you Bay)
or the CG is good but messy as fuck and you can't see what's going on even if you're looking directly at it (Bayformers)
Well if there is one good thing about Bay's Transformers is that they provide perfect examples of how NOT to do cgi robot fights.
