is it the pic quality or does Mr. Gipsy suffer from the Thin Your Paints syndrome?

I'm about to leave to go to the movie. I'll tell you guys how I like it when I get back. No spoilers of course.

It was about what you would expect. It is a movie about giant robots fighting aliens.. and it does it well. The story isn't some sweeping, Oscar winning super drama, but it isn't bad. The action is nice, especially the whole two pilots working together to pilot the Jaegars (The robots.) I liked the whole idea of the two minds working as one, melding all of their memories. So, I say go watch it. It was a fun watch with a working story. A little bit of romance, inner conflict, regret, sacrifice, and a lot of action. 7.5 to 8/10.
How's the acting? :shudders:
It isn't shudder worthy by any means. I'd say average to slightly above.
My question about this movie to those who've seen it is: Does the entire movie look like the trailers? That is, it's almost always at night and there's blue light everywhere? And the does the romance part include a scene where, right at the most dangerous moment, the two giant robots in love stop everything for one last kiss?

Everytime I see the trailer I keep thinking Godzilla vs Power Rangers . "We need MegaZord Power NOW!" :v:
I wonder if GlaDOS will appear in the credits.

Just got back from an early screening and I mostly agree with Xionasis, the action sequences were great, got to see some nice city destruction and monster punching. The acting was nothing great, Idris was probably the highlight, though the asian lady lead was pretty good too. The main scientist characters would have been more at home in Scooby Doo, and the plot was nothing to write home about but overall I really liked it. If you go in expecting some sweet Robot v Monster action, you're gonna have great time. So did they have a subplot involving children like people feared they would?

You know, particularly after the "everything starts going wrong" opening, this could have been a seriously bleak movie. Like, I could easily see this being reworked into a depressing deconstruction of the giant robots and monsters idea. Then the scientists walk in.
I still can't see how a sequel would work out, with the ending for this movie.
