This looks so fucking kick ass.
Holy shit! GlaDOS is in this movie!
I love how they didn't even try to make her sound any different.
Oh fuck, Jax Teller and Stringer Bell suiting up in giant mecha suits to fight giant inter-dimensional monsters.
yeah i guess that'll be cool
I love how the Russian robot looks. I want to avoid trailers for this so it doesn't get spoiled but the temptation is too high.
I kinda dont see why they arent using giant guns, but I wholeheartedly agree that punching giant monsters is manly as fuck.
Also, anyone kinda feel like they got the "giant monsters from an accidental portal to another dimension" thing from the mist?
I still like it.
Uh, that's weird, I just opened this thread and Avast starts saying it's blocked something from a harmful site.
fixed

huge scale melee matches are far more badass IMO

Well the Eureka does have a chest-mounted missile launcher.
e: Also watching that breaking news video, the first Kaiju seems to have been brought down by missile fire. There's probably some reason that blowing them up to hell is a bad idea though, especially considering that Gipsy Danger's schematics reference toxic bleeds.

I noticed that a lot of the monsters have glowing mouths. It could just be to look cool or it could have something to do with whatever is making the glow

They are obviously valve fan-boys, so they got it from half-life.
Why do they need two pilots per jaeger?
Why do they need two pilots per jaeger?
They don't. If you look at the Japanese one, it only has one pilot, and the Chinese one has 3 pilots. As for why they did it though, I imagine it'd be explained in the film. Perhaps it is a similar reason as to why planes have pilot and co-pilot?
Also they're mindlinked. Curious how they'll treat that, especially if they'll have tri-linking and cross-gender linking. The three pilots is probably how China gets away with four arms.
e: I just realized the crimson typhoon only has three arms, not four. ok.

I'd mindlink with that black haired chick
maybe link in another way too.
getting serious it came from beneath the sea vibes from the golden gate bridge attack.
I like this movie a lot. Not just for GLaDOS, but it reminds me of Mechwarrior for some reason.

After he was done cleaning up Charming, he turned to the Pacific.

Also "Today we are canceling the apocalypse" for best trailer line 2012?
I will watch the shit out of this.
I can just imagine this.
It's the end for the humans, the machines are being crippled by the giant creatures, risen from the depths of the sea. The robots are in shreds, monsters standing tall over the hurt and damaged humans, trying to break free from their metallic tombs that were smited down by the creatures. There are no more warriors left, all hope is lost. The monsters start to circle the shore, closing into the human city.
But far, far away, the faint sound of metal and screams fade in. The metal, being music of rocking immensity, The screaming, roars of burger-lust and competitiveness, closing into the unawares aliens. A blue robot busts out of the mist, with decals of flaming magic-8 balls and babes on its exterior. The last things the aliens heard were "You blow up these badass machines, you walk all over us trying to be all smart and tough, and that was getting me angry. But then. you stepped on and DESTROYED my favourate hamburger factory. AND NOW I'M PISSED. GLORFT, TIME TO KICK YOUR ASS."

Last part is perfect.
As requested, I have completed the inventory of corporate financial portfolio. What is even more important, I have been closely following the crisis of incidence, "Onibaba" in Tokyo. It is increasingly urgent. In accordance with our subsidiaries and shareholders worldwide decisions* we are prepared to divert $ 19,647,000.000 CLP to speed up the assembly of Lima Shatterdome, which will host the upcoming Jaegers Tacit Ronin and Mark 2-Diablo*Intercept. This regional Strike Group will defend the southeastern quadrant of the Pacific Rim, from Medellin to Patagonia. This financial contribution represents the hope of the American people. With it, the Lima-Strike group will operate from August this year. Without it, the construction will take three to six months. I would not want to scare, but K-WATCH predicts a high likelihood of another Kaiju incident during this period. My professional opinion is that there is no better use of our resources to invest in PPDC. Please review the attached budget proposal is submitted for approval. I trust to take the right decision
Once I heard GlaDOS in this trailer and saw the white suits I seriously thought the movie was going to be about Aperture Science.
Apocalypse status:
[ ] On Time
[ ] Late
[x] Cancelled
You all jinxed it!
Although del Toro wanted her voice in the trailer to be "full-on GlaDOS," the filter used in-film doesn't produce nearly as strong of a resemblance.
Still, it will be nice to have.
I'm actually kind of glad they're not using the GladOS voice for it. It's just too iconic, and would be distracting.
New trailer

i just don't understand why we dont fire a few nuclear missles down the hole/portal thing or a few nuclear torpedoes... seems like it would work all the same, i just wish this movie looked less jockish and blockbusterish like GI Joe was, all the same, GLaDOS was a good choice for any computer voice over, also i think the way they control the robots is just retarded looking, mostly because of watching neon genesis, gundum, guren lagon, gundum again, big O, Neon Genesis Reboots, and many many other giant robot shows, where the pilot sits inside the robot and controls it through some sort of interface instead the treadmill room thing they have, plus these robots are probably realistic in the fact they are heavy and slow but cmon hollywood its giant robots, they dont have to be slow and clumsy
