I'm not trying to be funny, I'm trying to help people. My brother is a trained Paramedic and my dad is a pharmacist and a pharmacology professor. I've learned over time from them, my brother shows me treatments for different injuries and I've learned of drugs and drug interactions through working with my dad.
I don't doubt you, I was talking about the guy who was diagnosing him with necrotizing fascitis.
I have had this too, you probably ripped your rotator cuff a bit.
it will heal over time, but if you need to keep doing those movements, do this
-stand up and point at the ground, and make circles with your finger, and make them bigger and bigger. i'd call it an inverse spiral, if you dig that.
do that often and once it hurts, stop. apparently it is supposed to ease the pain afterwards.
it should be okay soon, so don't fret. I personally ripped mine by throwing 35 baseballs over a fence, don't ask. :v:
by the way, i'm not bullshitting you. I am fairly sure that is what is wrong with your shoulder, because it sounds EXACTLY like a rotator cuff injury, where it hurts when you swing overhead at a certain angle.

so you're saying these wonderful people are being pretentious, misdiagnosing fools?!
oh god :tinfoil:
Thanks for the advice, see this is my last year in football I'd like to make the most of it.

oh okay, that kid is an idiot. How the fuck do you come up with a degenerative skin disease when the victim has a shoulder injury?
This happens to me sometimes as well, I searched around and it seems like it is just a nerve being pinched when your lungs expand. So its most likely nothing to be worried about.
I've also heard of a harmless condition called Precordial Catch Syndrome, where breathing in can cause chest pain (Upper chest, slightly to the left side. Over the heart.) that lasts until you either breathe in deeply or let it pass and then resume breathing.

Don't worry, my step mom is a nurse so I know more than the average joe when it comes to medical knowledge, I know my skin isn't rotting off nor do I have emphysema :v:

Sounds exactly what happens to me every once in a while. I'll get a random sharp pain and if I exhale or inhale quickly there's a pop and the pain goes away.
My family is too fucking cheap to take me to a hospital even though my right shoulder hangs lower than my left one. I've had it looked at by a couple people and it looks like it's seperated, so what should I do put it in a sling for a week or so?
As your doctor, I advise moving to Australia or Canada.
Oh shit, I googled chest pain and I got tons of "hnnng" pictures.Hopefully I won't end up like that :(
[editline]1st September 2011[/editline]
Anyone got an idea what could be causing this? The pain is (only if I press on it) in the middle of my chest
Doctor Facepunch, I have Visual Snow, Exploding head syndrome, colorblindness, and hearing loss. Am I going to die?
it's like working out for the first time in a while, it will subside. Just don't exert yourself too hard, spread the workout over a week, then get more frequent as your endurance goes up.
Thanks, I appreciate the information. After being well rested, I'm already feeling better.
Yeah I haven't done much in the last few weeks just to general tiredness and cba-ness. So that's another factor. I'll stick to my laptop for a few days and see if the shoulder clears. Dunno what to do about knees. I did go fishing a week ago for 3 hours and for like 1 1/2 hours of that i was kneeling on my knees on solid wood
PS not doing much cause im on summer break, btw.
Lack of exercise is probably the reason your knees are hurting. I recently went to the doctors with a knee injury from tennis and her advice was to do more weights to strengthen my quads to prevent pain and injury in my knees.
Also from personel experience my knees ache if i havent done much activity during the week
Today at football practice I was running the ball and got tackled pretty hard, I landed dirctly on my outstretched arm, and felt my should pop and click. It hurt like a motherfucker, like I just wanted to sit there and scream but I got up, and tried to move arm a little and I couldn't, after about 5 minutes I regained some movement but it was really sore. I went through practice and it was bothering me now I'm at home and it hurt to lift my arm the slightest.
Should I goto the hospital? Like I feel my arm crackle (yeah, crackle) if i move it in certain ways and it makes funny sounds.
I don't want to waste money just for a doctor to tell me to wrap it but idk.
You may have been really unlucky and pulled/ripped a tendon in your shoulder, see how your movement improves in the next week (dont do anything stressful with it) and if you stop seeing improvements id go and see a doctor.
A few people asked about insomnia way earlier in the thread. For those few, I'd like to recommend a melatonin supplement. Melatonin is the actual hormone your own body produces to induce sleep, and it is sold as a supplement. Since it's not a drug, you can't really overdose on it, and your body doesn't develop resistance to its effect either. I started taking it in high school, and I remember the first night I took it, I was dead asleep within 10 minutes. It also gives you really vivid dreams, which can be both a good and a bad thing. (Good when it happens to be a sexy dream :quagmire: But bad when it's a nightmare from hell. Imagine a nightmare you've had in the past, but 10x more real and vivid.)
DO NOT DO THIS, the longer you take this the more the body will stop producing melatonin naturaly, and you will become dependent on the supliment to get you to sleep
Also why did you say not to pick it, what does that do to it?
Well, if you remove the thick coating of puss around it, it can start to bleed quite a bit, especially if it's over a blood vessel.
At that point, it's covering it with something until the blood dries.
Could be that but I usually was pretty thoroughly
Try a different shampoo. For example I get dandruff when I use Head & Shoulders, but when I use cheap non-brand I don't get any.
What antihistamine do you take?
The substance use is probably too insignificant to matter, and I don't see any glaring contraindications. I'd go with your doctor, ventolin was probably the cause. Have you experienced any tachycardia since discontinuing?
Zyrtec, or Cetirizine. Also yes, I stopped using the nebulizer Tuesday the week Irene hit, I think. I experienced the fast, pounding heart on Monday. I usually only get it that bad when my asthma is really acting up and I push myself too hard, which isn't often.
oh okay, that kid is an idiot. How the fuck do you come up with a degenerative skin disease when the victim has a shoulder injury?
Or subcutaneous emphysema for that matter lmao.
Does anyone else see massive floaters and flashing lights?

Who told you this?
Who told you this?
he doesn't know what he's talking about, if your body needs more melanocytes the pituitary gland will start producing it.
Hey, I think I have some mucus stuck on my uvula because I have a cold or something. How do I get it off?
I have a bump on my elbow that's like a quarter inch high because I always use it as a kickstand for my face, whoops.
Just thought you'd like to know.
Hey, I think I have some mucus stuck on my uvula because I have a cold or something. How do I get it off?
Drink lotsa water and swallow with nothing in your mouth too.
My heart beats really fast often when running or cycling.
I blackout every time I stand up
I blackout every time I stand up
orthostatic hypotension
orthostatic hypotension
Is something like this normal for a 16 year old? Also what if it happens multiple times?
Is something like this normal for a 16 year old? Also what if it happens multiple times?
Completely normal. When you're resting your blood pressure doesn't need to be as high as it normally is when you're standing. Your body requires less effort to circulate blood, so when you stand up suddenly your body doesn't have enough time to adjust your BP to the change in gravity. So you blackout for a second from low blood pressure until your body gets your blood pressure up again to compensate for your positional change.

I have this too, I saw my doctor about it. When it happens try to get your head as close to your knees as possible, it should make it stop. Also to cure it drink a ton more water and double the salt in your diet. Helped me a ton.
I've been getting quite a lot of pain in my left eye from time to time now, and i'm getting a bit worried.
It starts off with a small amount of pain which i usually ignore, and builds up to feel like i'm constantly being stabbed behind my eye with a needle, this usually comes when i've been sitting in all day looking at my computer screen.
Could anybody here suggest me what i could do?
Even painkillers won't really help it, the pain fades in about 1-2 hour/s.
Take breaks. Nobody is really supposed to be looking at computer screens/TVs all day anyway.

That's ridiculous. Lmao. Never heard of that, I can see how the salt would help but that's just plain unhealthy. If your blood pressure is that low that you need to double the amount of salt in your diet you're probably bleeding out or insanely healthy haha.
