Facepunch Medical Thread V1 (I don't need a doctor it's not that bad)

Right so I haven't been eating as much as I used to, and the reason for that is that I just don't have the appetite for it. Ever. When I do start eating, my stomach just starts hurting after a bit and I end up not wanting to eat more. I have to force it down.
I've been told that since I restrained myself from eating for a bit (not sure when, why, or how this happened), my body has adjusted to the amount of food I eat daily. Essentially, they say my metabolism is low and that if I want to eat normally like I did before, I'd have to eat shit tons now and force food into my body, whether it feels good or not. After a while of doing this, my body will readjust to this higher food intake and I'll be able to eat more like I used it.
Will that fix the problem or is this something I should get the doc to look at? It's getting annoying that I can't eat as much as I used to and it's starting to show. I'm not as muscly as I used to be. :suicide:

Don't force food down like an animal, take it slowly and eat a little bit more each day, it will be a lot less painful way to readjust to eating more food. Essentialy eating little amounts of food reduces your blood sugar which isn't that great for you.

Right then. Eat more. Don't eat like a bear.
Though...I did just scarf down a bag of cookies and my stomach didn't hurt at all from that. Odd.
Was skating in a skate park today, fell off the board and hit my elbow (not broken, just knocked and grazed + bleeding). Felt light headed so I went to lie down and just as I did it was like my brain just half shut down and I started getting some really strange visualisations and feelings in my head (apparently my eyes were open and I was convulsing a bit and I hit one of my friends when he came near me (I was lying down)). Felt like I was stuck inside my own mind and I had to force my way out. Worst feeling I have ever felt.
An hour and a bit later and everything feels much more physically difficult than usual and I have a little headache.
This is not the first time this has happened (maybe 3-4 other times it's happened, all after hitting my elbows/knees) but this was by far the worst. Gonna see a doctor soon.
Thoughts?

Maybe you got concussion? If you just hit your elbow you might have injured a nerve or something, but that would usually just mess up your fingers.
I had another episode today with lightheadedness, i leaned back in my chair to stretch and yawn and temporarily went blind, heard a buzzing noise and finally passed out. I woke up on the floor, feeling like i was gonna die and then it hit me, a full blown thunderclap headache, i was in fucking agony for 5 minutes then it went away. I was weak and nauseous for the next 3 hours. I spoke to my mother(a nurse, recently got fired, fucking hospital trying to cut costs), and she said that as soon as we get Health Insurance, she'll get me a doctor's visit and i'll see if i can get an MRI.
yeah, that never happens to me, I passed out once, and that was about a year ago, so I would say it's probably not hypotension, unless its a severe case of it, again best bet is a doctor, good luck when you do get an appointment though

You might've hit your head pretty fucking hard.

You probably have a concussion, just call your doctor and explain you fell while skating and hit your head and that you think you might have a concussion(Of course still say the symptoms)

Definitely didn't hit my head.
[editline]8th May 2012[/editline]
I asked the people who were there and there's no sign of me having hit my head as far as bruising goes.
I believe I have dyspraxia. Should I visit a doctor?
Yep.
No buts or ifs, this is something neurological that needs experts.
Anyone have a good cure for cold/flu? I already tried amputation, it diddn't work.

Don't always need to hit your head, if you fall your head can still get a whiplash like motion and your brain can bounce around inside your cranium and result in a concussion.

You, sir, might need a good bloodletting.
i keep on getting this weird feeling in my head
like it started about year ago, behind my eyes. something like that feeling you get when you stick your finger just in front of that dip in your nose - except this is duller. since then, it's moved to the top-ish of where i guess my brain is, and now i guess it's right in the middle. it's weird, because i know i shouldn't be able to feel anything there - no nerves. but what really weirds me out is the fact that it mostly occurs nowadays whenever i see, hear or think of something distressing.
it's not debilitating, but it's a little scary. it does get distracting sometimes, when it pops up, but i guess the questions i want to ask are:
1) is this normal?
2) can i get rid of it?
Feels like I have to piss. Go to bathroom, piss only a little.
What do I do?

If it's continued this long it might be worth going to the doctor to make sure that it isn't something really bad.
If a symptom has stayed with you for a year. It's time to seek proper help.

Prepare your anus!
So, I get these little lumps - sometimes they turn into these big bumps, and sometimes they let themselves. Other times they don't and just go away.
Well, I've got one around the crack of my ass (Yeah, I know, right?) It hasn't been much of a problem but has been painful, it's been there for about 2 weeks and has been letting for about a week. Until today, the discharge has been purulent. Well, I noticed today via my underwear that the discharge is now this blackish stuff.
Is that anything to worry about?
An unrelated issue that I've noticed over the past couple of years is that if like, I hold on to something for more than 5 minutes, my hand starts to get this pain. If I hold onto it for around 10 to 15 minutes, rigor starts to set into my hand and it continues being painful. This used to be a problem when I worked a light construction job, using a hammer for more than a few minutes at a time was damn near impossible. Also doing things like cutting the grass and weed eating are kind of tough too. I just kinda push my way through it and rest in the end.
Biting the affected area seems to distract me from the pain, but doesn't really help with the rigor. What's up?

This worked. Thank you.
I'm thinking about getting a doctor's appointment for my serious case of fucked up mental state, i get chills all the time, there's the fainting issue i have, sometimes i get massive headaches and i have horrible memory, i could pick up a soda can, and a minute later, forget that i even had it in my hand and spill it everywhere. Too bad i can't afford to see a doc at the moment.
I'm pretty sick and I dont know what's wrong; I don't have a fever, but I feel really weak, I have the chills but I get hot under a blanket, I have a constant cough and my eyes feel kinda drowsy and they water a lot. I also have this full body pain.
I've been getting plenty of sleep, and I take two Niquil pills every six hours.
whats wrong with me dr facepunch

How long has this been going on? It could very well just be the flu.
How long has this been going on? It could very well just be the flu.
About 3 days now.
I posted in the sleep thread about this, but might as well get a wider view.
I've been sleeping for up for 15 hours a day if I'm not setting an alarm, It's like I just don't wake up when I'm done sleeping.
Thoughts?

Then I wouldn't worry very much. If it goes on like that too much longer, then sure, see a doctor.
I just noticed that there's a blueish lump in the skin going from thumb to index. It's definitely not a vein and when I stretch my thumb / press down on it, it feels like there's two of them. I'll take a picture tomorrow when I'm awake. Any ideas, FP?
