[QUOTE=jaykray;36534612]Swill warm salt water around in your mouth (don't swallow it though)

Actually, that will probably really hurt, but it will make it better in the long run. Probably.[/QUOTE]
Swish H2O2 instead of salt water.
Mix it with bengay while at it.

I was being serious.
So almost a week ago I got a pretty big headache and a small ache in my throat, runny nose etc. I thought it was just a typical sore throat thing or whatever but then the pain started moving slowly to my tongue and now almost a week later I feel immense pain when I swallow saliva, food or liquids. Tea doesn't do a lot of good but kinda eases it a bit while I am drinking the tea. So I get a lot of pain the bottom of my tongue and in the upper part of my throat but the headache is completely gone and the runny nose is partly still there but nothing illness type of thing.
Anyone know what this is? I've never had a sore throat like this so I am wondering if its an infection or whut?
Edit:
So I went to doctor today and turns out its only a bad case of something I don't know the English word, just the basic sore throat thing and then some tiny infection. I should stop self diagnosing my self.
Well, apparently I don't have iron deficiency anemia. Though my doc found something in my blood test.. Might be hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism. Symptoms are similar, explains my depression and lack of energy. My doc noticed it three years ago, but the values were so low that there was no need to worry. Now, three years later and 30cm taller, it's quite the difference.
I went to bed with a terrible headache yesterday, and now I woke up and I can't keep my balance en feel dizzy all the time.
What do I do?
Drink water till you squirt from one end or the other, lay down in a cold room. Take aspirin if needed. Consult with doctor if symptoms persist.
Have severe strep throat, both viral and bacterial somehow.
I threw up over 12 hours ago and the pain is so intense that, even with the narcotic painkiller I was prescribed, it still hurts to swallow anything.
Also the pus is so bad that I was choking and struggling to breathe earlier.

How long has this been going on for, and was there any trauma? Also, how old are you?
My lower back hurts, suggestions?
My orthodontist wants to remove 4 teeth to make room for my teeth to align. I just got the braces in and I'm supposed to get the teeth removed within 8-10 weeks but now I'm reading about how it would ruin your face and cause sleeping problems/jaw problems in the future but I'm not sure if they could be viable sources (If anything, testimonials). Any advice for whether or not I should go through with it?
My leg is asleep
Is that fatal
Only way to be sure its not fatal is to repeat what you did to make it fall asleep
Does anyone know any rapid cures for swimmer's ear? (otitis externia)
I've got it in my left ear and it hurts like fuck and it's the middle of the summer holidays and I don't want to be in pain during the summer holidays. Doctor gave me some ear spray to use but it takes forever and doesn't do anything about the pain.
Sometimes I hear ringing in my ear, in the middle of the day, usually randomly. Occurs more often in the night, but still pretty randomly and not all the time. It doesn't last more than a few seconds.
so, tuesday before last i came down with a cold, and now it's degenerated into a clear-mucousy cough which rapidly fluctuates in severity, clogged ears, and occasional runny nose, do i have some form of advanced respiratory disease, or is it just the death rattle of a howling cold?
[editline]21st July 2012[/editline]
to clarify, i am also asthmatic and regularly use my inhaler
[editline]21st July 2012[/editline]
could it have been exacerbated by a gash in my gum i've had since the day after it started?

Sounds like Tinnitus. Does it occur during the absence of sound?

It occurs more often, but it's not constantly there.
Is it common to have chest pain and break into coughing fits whenever any sort of laughing is attempted?
Do medics qualify as thread experts?

Yes
I shall have them print "FP Medical Expert" on my jacket then.

I can't remember if you were a -P on a truck, or a military medic.
Last night, I had a very painful stomach ache, I presumed it being excess gas but I noticed that when ever I drank Cola, the sharp pain would return in my stomach for a few minutes. Water, milk and other liquids are okay, eating too is fine.
Why can I no longer drink cola in peace? :saddowns:
P.S: I drink cola a lot, I would guess my body is use to it by now.
This is nothing serious, but I kind of want to know what's happening. Basically, every now and again, I start feeling a bit faint and my vision fades out for a second and then comes back. Sometimes I'll be a slight bit out of breath afterwards, but I've never noticed anything long term. I don't know if there's any pattern, though.
I'm just wondering if it's something I need to look into or if it's something that's common and nothing to worry about.
The other day I was trying to be sexy and did a striptease for my girlfriend, but I ended up almost dislocating my hip.

I'm trying to figure out how this is even remotely possible and it just isn't happening. That must have been one extreme striptease...
