So after like 10 years, I finally got medical coverage to go to the doctor's for a basic check up. The doctor did a physical and gave me a chest X-ray and he told me he wanted me to get a chest CAT scan because he thinks he might have seen something in my X-ray and wants to be sure. What could he have seen? I don't feel sick or anything, but it's kinda unnerving because he didn't tell me what he thinks it is.
Could be any number of things; people get scans for mucus buildup, angina pectoris, physical deformities etc - The list is endless. CT Scans are general follow-ups to x-rays so you really have nothing to be afraid of. And the fact he didn't tell you shows it probably isn't even a problem. I mean, I'm not going to lie and say it's impossible that it could be anything problematic, but chances are they're not.

Okay, thanks for the quick response.
I ran for 16 seconds in physical education tests at school. Gave it almost my best, however my legs hurt like shit and they've been like that for five hours at least. Can't walk without a foul step due to pain. Dammit, I hope that fades away soon.

Hey Facepunch, I've recently noticed some kind of lump or cyst or whatever under my skin close to my elbow. If my hands were facing down, the lump would be on the bottom part of my arm. I don't really feel it and it causes no pain, but when I touch it, it feels round, like a ball, and when I move it back and forth, it moves slightly, but doesn't change it's position. My brother said he has a similar thing but somewhere close to his neck.
I have these small red bumps on my legs, they itch a little, and they're red. Looks like insect bites, but I don't know which. Any cause for worry?
probably not, but if they're still with you in a week or so you might want to consider going to see a doctor in the meantime, normal advice is to try not to scratch them too much, you don't want to break the skin and allow for possible infection. if you have any anti-itch cream then try that, there's a brand in the UK called Eurax which works very well. i think eucalyptus oil is also recommended for insect bites, if that's what they are!
Yeah, I do have a tube of Eurax lying around. I suspect it is some insect bite, since they're where my pants end, which may have given em an easy way in + combined with the fact that I've been out in the forest for 2 days straight chopping down trees and wading through shrubbery.
So I have this sharp pain in my heart when i breath sometimes, when it happens i usually hold my breath for a few seconds and it goes away. i've had since i was a toddler. I used to think i had heart attacks when i was a kid but eventually relized i must be really luck not to die yet.i also have a messed up chest. my left ribcage sticks out about a 3/4 of an inch and the bottom of both ribcage sides stick out. Is this causing my "heart attacks"?

It can be anything from 'heartburn', to some kind of heart condition.
You used to think you had heart attacks and didn't see a doctor about it. Are you from some heritage of mentally unlit people or what made you or your parents think that a kid with multiple heart attacks a week shouldn't take a ride in the whambulance every now and then?

Here's a thought. Should we put up a Diabetes megathread? I don't think we have one already, but I guess it can't be that widespread among our community if there isn't one already.
Because my sister never wanted to move her butt the last five years she's now diabetic. [editline]18th August 2012[/editline] I did everything I could to encourage her to exercise but she wouldn't listen or join me on mountain hikes or skiing or anything. Such a shame.

Im not sure but i think i saw something about diabetes there

I had a feeling I knew exactly what you meant since I also have PCS. It's completely harmless, just very annoying.
I get those PCS pains too, only happens once a week if not once every 2 weeks. It's bloody annoying.
Hey guys. My left testicle has been slightly hurting to the touch for a few hours. Should i be worried cause I am freaking the fuck out
Hey guys. My left testicle has been slightly hurting to the touch for a few hours. Should i be worried cause I am freaking the fuck out
You have monotestulicriosis and your only option is castration.
Hey guys. My left testicle has been slightly hurting to the touch for a few hours. Should i be worried cause I am freaking the fuck out
Nothing to be worried about.
Do you mean precordial catch syndrome?
oh wow I thought I was the only person ever to get this because my doctor was completely stumped about it [editline]19th August 2012[/editline] I think I'll get a new doctor
oh wow I thought I was the only person ever to get this because my doctor was completely stumped about it
i've had chest pains just like that before and never knew what it could have been. very informative! i find breathing out and just holding my breath for as long as i can generally helps, and then breathing really slowly and gently when you do breathe back in
Quite a few people seem to have it and yet we barely know anything about it. We don't know what causes it and we don't know if it's treatable. I think most of the problem is that you can't really predict when it'll next happen, so it's not exactly easy to study it.
I'm glad my question was somewhat useful, now we all know what we had all these years. Gotta thank Chris.
Hey guys. My left testicle has been slightly hurting to the touch for a few hours. Should i be worried cause I am freaking the fuck out
I've had this before. Usually it's nothing to worry about, just a slight inflammation caused by a virus or whatever, sort of like a cold. Should go away in a week or so. Although if it sticks around for longer than that you should go see a doctor.
There's something very wrong with my hands This morning I could barely move them, they felt like rock they were almost completely dry and I had to put them in a bucket of water for almost one hour I'll go to the dermatologist tomorrow if this keeps happening
