• Mailing Weed?

Hey dd, long time no see. Anyways, This is my story. 3 weeks ago, i moved 3 hours away from my old city Calgary, I now live in Medicine Hat, and they are both in the same province. All the kids I know so far are like anti-marijuana freaks, so no luck here. Since it was my birthday my friend wants to throw me some free weed. But just one problem. I can't go visit Calgary anytime soon. I came up with a plan to get Red Faction Geurilla, for PC, with the disk inside, and also with a little bag of weed in there. Now if he mailed that to me, remember this is still in the same province, would it get like searched and shit or no?
I'd doubt it. I don't think mail gets searched at all without very probable cause, I know people who have gotten illegal knives and other stuff like that shipped with no problem.
If it had no return address worst case scenario is you just wouldn't get it.
They can't do anything to you even if they do find it, which they wont. Make sure he knows to not put a return address on it.
Yup like everyone said no return address no worries. A buddy of mine mailed weed from Merica' to hawaii.
no you need a return address. look up suspicious package profiling. [editline]17th May 2011[/editline]
Postal inspectors use these criteria to identify packages that might contain drugs. Package Criteria * Emits odors of marijuana or or a masking agent (e.g., coffee, perfume, fabric-softener sheets) * Is heavily taped along seams * Is poorly prepared for mailing * Appears to have been re-used * Has an uneven weight distribution Label Criteria * Is handwritten * Contains misspelled names, streets, or cities * Originates from a drug source State * Has been sent from an individual to an individual * Contains return address ZIP code that does not match accepting post office ZIP code * Shows a fictitious return address * Lists sender’s and/or receiver’s names of common type (e.g., John Smith) that are not connected to either address

What to Look For Foreign mail, air mail, and special deliveries. Restrictive markings such as “CONFIDENTIAL” or “PERSONAL”. Excessive postage. Handwritten or poorly typed address. Incorrect titles. Misspellings of common words. Oily stains or discoloration on package. Excessive weight. Rigid, lopsided, or uneven envelopes. Excessive tape or string. Visual distractions. No return address. Handling Suspicious Packages DO NOT open or shake it. DO NOT carry or show to others. DO NOT sniff, touch or taste. DO place on stable surface, preferably a Bio-Safety Cabinet. DO alert others in the area. Leave the area, close doors and prevent others from entering by using signs or guarding. Distance and separation are the safest precautions to take. Wash hands with soap and water. Create a list of persons in the room where the package was received.
Surely they will only do that if the package looks REALLY suspicious and dodgy, if it's taped up, stinks of weed and generally just looks dodgy then yeah, but I can't see them going "Hmmm, no return address, that's suspicious" and then go through that whole procedure of evacuating the room.

If it's just a small amount of weed inside a DVD case with a game, chances are that it's such a small amount they wouldn't even bother chasing it up.

You know OP it's not a crime to get sent something illegal
A lot of MOMs tripple vac seal the package to stop the smell leaking, until it arrives at least. This is to get it past dogs at customs, although this shouldnt be as much of a problem for your short distance.
