If I'm correct, there is a real Winchester Pub somewhere in London.
If I were you, I'd check that out v:v:v
Also, I'm not sure what exactly I'm going to do once there, my father has some plans, one including going to the Farnborough International Airshow. He's been to London himself a lot, at least once a month, so I assume he knows where the fun places are, and stuff like that.
Edit: I'm getting a message that I can't bump my own thread for 59 days. v:v:v
And I'm 16 btw
Take a taxi home if it's quite late at night, the tubes are quite shady. (well not really the central ones but some are..).
You can go to greenwich to see the royal observatory, go to the parliament, london eye, dungeon, harrods, hamleys (hey, it's cool).
Jaffa cakes are delicious. You must eat them.
Nah, but seriously, London's a pretty cool place. The London Eye is amazing in the evening.
If you didn't want to get charged silly prices you shouldn't have gone to London.
Anyone living in the London area want me to bring them some Moutian Dew? If so, in Bottles or cans?
Yeah sure. I'll take as much as you can carry.
Yeah sure. I'll take as much as you can carry.
I'll bring one bottle per member, as I am assume many of you would want some.
Don't bother with the science museum. It sounds cool but they haven't invested any money into it for years so its pretty shite now. Natural History museum is waaay better. You can go on the London Eye, though in my opinion its not that great. There's the Tate gallery if you're into modern art and stuff. Ahh, if you fancy something a bit more alternative, head to Camden, the market there is pretty cool, and there is a very decent place called the Jazz Cafe too. There's also quite a few nice places down Carnaby street.
Do all the usual touristy things in the day, then get ur dad to take you to a bar in the afternoon/evening. The drinking age over here is 18 but you can usually get away with it at 16, especially if ur dads with you and your in a small little bar that no one gives two fucks about.
Try to absorb more of the culture of the people of the city, rather then the city itself. To me that's its real selling point. People here are soo multicultural yet also soo accepting (most of the time). That to me is the best thing about central London. The outskirts are a bit more 'tribal' though, unfortunately.
Don't swim in the Thames.
But I always wanted to try to :saddowns:
Here's my advice: Don't go to London.
No but seriously London has patches of bad area's all over. Personally I'd recommend staying away from Brixton and Hackney at night
Make sure to try out some of the great British cuisine such as the sweets just mentioned- especially Haribo, Chewits and Maoams (the latter of which have some rather smutty wrappers). There's a reason Brits are supposed to have bad teeth. But whatever you do, don't try to buy any candy from the platform vending machines on the Tube as they don't work 95% of the time. See all the museums and galleries, maybe Wembley Stadium and the 02 arena if there's anything on.
Ye London eye, natural history museum, imperial war museum and any sweet shops you see are probably the best things you can do.
buy chocolate. English chocolate is much better than your American stuff.
Goto a pub and order some freedom fries
call everyone spastic
it's a friendly joke
Make sure you stay away from alleyways, and make sure you don't go into a deserted area alone at night.
And beware of the scammers, who will try and take your money.
Also, your money won't be worth as much so take much more than normal
if we're going for jokes.
Call everyone you meet posh.
its not like we care about class or anything...

Quite a sum of the people are murdering chavs in london, thats why the news is clogged up with so and so died and a baby was kidnapped and drowned in a bucked and stuff like that
When we went back to London to visit family, me and my cousin dressed up as cowboys and used our best southern USA accent while walking around and buying stuff. Most people laughed or smiled, but these "gangsta" kids started cursing us out while we were sitting down in some park. They left when we stood up though, after all, two 6"4 people dressed as cowboys can be intimidating :v:
Go to the Sir John Soane museum.
Ignore any social pessimism in this thread. You don't get that many chav's in central London. Most chav's on the outskirts arn't that bad either, they just try to act intimidating. People get stabbed and shot everywhere in the world, London suburbs just have a lot more of it coz were so demographically dense. Central London is very safe, most people are tourists themselves. Do know whereabouts you're staying?
Also Kettner's is a very good restaurant. Pricey though.
Bring an umbrella.
Don't call anyone mate if you have a strong accent. Infact its probably best to refrain from using the word all together.
There's so much in the city and surrounding are to do it's hard to name them all here.
The British museum is great, free too like the other museums. There's a ridiculous amount of stuff in there. The building is awesome too.

Tipping here is 10%, but if you're from the US people may expect more (sorry, but you guys made a rod for your own back there)
Really? You mean for the whole UK? I've never heard anything about that or tipped at all...
Surely the amount you tip is up to you and how you judge the service you recieve and is not a set percentage.
While you are in London pay a visit to the West End. A great night out and there are a couple of good plays on at the moment.
Er, everywhere is expensive.

In America, most restaurants expect 15% tip. :C
