I'm sorry I enjoy music that's a little bit beyond "oh hey lets tune our guitars down two steps and then play in pentatonic minor and harmonic minor that's never been done. Yay and we can slap some horrible vocals over top too to get some main stream appeal"
But you know, simple brains like simple music I guess?
I do like simple music, no shame in that because I'm special :downs:
[editline]aw[/editline]
And they are tuned to Bb, F, Bb, Eb, F, Bb, Eb fyi.
Um how was I insulting the genre I was just insulting the band.
Alright then, re-read my post, except change the word 'genre' into the word 'band'.

Don't worry stizzles, I'm just the opinion police.

well look at you all high and mighty, please indulge me in that complicated music exclusively made for you smart folk
Well, how about Animals As Leaders?
Some of their stuff is really heavy.
I've seen them live twice now and they can get heavy as shit. It surprised me the first time.

that's a low Ab I'm hearing there, brah
Have you guys heard the new Veil of Maya? Personally, I think they've shown a lot of growth since the last album. I'm not on the Punisher fanboat though. Favorite from Eclipse is probably The Glass Slide.
Subjective.
If beauty is a value as important as truth, and the level of good / bad music is based on that, then there IS such a thing as bad music, which can be objectively measured.
You're like the twenty billionth person to say durrhurr music subjective without thinking about anything.
People can like whatever music they like: likes and dislikes are subjective, but there is music theory, and there is a reason why we have that.
Also, please tell me someone has heard Zechs Marquise?
that's a low Ab I'm hearing there, brah
Didn't really pay attention, brah. Just posted what the bassist of the band said once.
I'm anticipating new The Alaya Conscious. What I have heard sounds promising. Kinda similar to Monuments, Tesseract and Animals as Leaders.

Never heard of them. What's a good song to recommend? Also, I'm glad to see some Monuments love.

At no point does Concealing Fate use pentatonic minor or harmonic minor scales in the same way most metal bands do. It also uses very complex polyrhythmic stuff (which is very very easy to pick up on if you know anyting)
Ironic that you say simple brains like simple music when you don't understand any of the point of the band or the genre as a whole.

Music theory is the technical side. It may be more technical or less technical, but there's a difference between that and the music being bad.
You cannot effectively judge art.

Their new album isn't out yet. They've only released a teaser and a music video thus far. The song for the music video is called "Grace." The teaser video is good too.

Not really djenty, but the song changes up a lot and it's got some really good riffs and groovy spots

That album gets better the further in you listen in my opinion. I think they really improved in song-writing on In Dreams though. And you can't deny that the groove factor on My Frailty is sick as shit.

Lots of the riffs off of In Dreams have a meshuggah vibe to them.
Hey guys.
I don't know what's going on here.
But have some Uneven Structure.
Because nothing's as cool as atmospheric djent.
