I love Scale. I'm playing The Great Plains for my school performance exam.
Guys, I have Koloss. It's going to take me a couple listens to grasp what I'm hearing but so far it's incredible. So different for Meshuggah. And as the name suggests, it sounds massive.

How'd you get it?
Found a link to it. You want?
Why not, I'm buying it when it's officially released anyway.
You better not be kidding. Hit me up on steam, yo.
Or jus PM.
There you go, enjoy. Most likely going to have this going on repeat until I see them in Philly.
Break Those Bones Whose Sinews Gave It Motion is monstrous live.
"Now this is a new song of ours, and this is like the second time we've played it live, so if we mess it up, it's not our faults."
Proceeded to nail it.
Yeah Break Those Bones was definitely one of the highlights of their set. And they played it right after Combustion, so they had that intense, violent song and then followed it with one of the grooviest songs they've ever written.
I just love how Koloss has such an obvious focus on lyrics / vocals. Or, at least, Break Those Bones has it.
Big change of pace for Meshuggah in my opinion, since, on their previous albums, their lyrics / vocals always seemed second-order to the chugging / wankery.
This is also the only Meshuggah album where I really like Jens' vocals. Always before, they've been the weakest link for me. He does great on this album, though.
Their lyrics have always been well presented/constructed imo.
I've always thought Meshuggah's lyrics were great and Jens' vocals were always really nice, although I do agree, his vocals are better on this record.

I never said they were poorly constructed or presented, I just said they've always seemed second-order. As in, the instrumentation / composition was more important than the lyrics or vocals.
Certainly there are worse offenders out there, but I honestly never considered them to have their vocals / lyrics as a priority. Bands like HammerFall or Scar Symmetry, on the other hand, are definitely lyric-vocal priority. Their songs are basically built around the vocals (or so it feels anyways).

I've always loved Meshuggah's lyrics as well. Jens' vocals have been hit and miss for me (RE: anything but NMCC didn't really hit off with me), but on Koloss I find them fantastic.
It's just they've seemed lower priority that the instrumentation to me.
Dat Swarm groove

Would you agree that Jens' vocals were used more as an instrument than actual vocals? The robotic feel of them just implies that they were.
nu Meshuggah leaked. sounds like Periphery doe.
That guy sounds like a dick.
it's one of many facebook Emmure-related troll pages. It's a lot of fun.
ahh, I was assuming it was a person that's trying to troll people.
Oh my god this album is fantastic.
I really love the return to groove oriented songs over the technicality that was in ObZen.
Swarm is amazing.
Probably my favorite track is Don't Look Down.
I still haven't had enough time to listen all the way through Koloss.
And on a side note, Periphery could use more groove.
Did Periphery or The Contortionist put out release dates for their upcoming albums yet? Because they need to get here like now.
Isn't Periphery releasing two albums this year?
I believe so, but I'm not entirely sure.
There was a new "Periphery" album on Spotify. I flipped out. Then I played it and it was electronic music or something. :pwn:
