That's probably my favourite song.
And seeing it live was just... HNNNNNNNNNG.
I also love The Last Vigil. It's kind of haunting. And the only thing that Meshuggah have ever made that I really consider beautiful.
You guys should check out http://wanzwa.bandcamp.com/album/wanzwa if you haven't already. Pretty sure his self-titled is still free, and it's good stuff.
I'm not the biggest fan of Meshuggah, but I listened to Koloss today and I think it's good, it's consistent with their previous releases. It's groovy, catchy, and has some cool riffs, but is also repetitive for me (the one feature I don't like).

Their same tonality had always bugged me a bit in the past. However, I still like this album a lot.

mother of god an official video for this song.
tomas haake drumming god hands down.

Also, repetitive is good imo. Especially if it's a fucking brutal/wonderful riff or drum groove.
"i am colossus" has some great rhythmic ambiguity going on at parts and "the demon's name is surveillance" makes nice use of microtones at one point
Rumors of The Human Abstract doing a tour in Europe.

I listened to the whole thing and... Who the hell are these singers lol? This sounds very 90s too. I can't say I love it or hate it.
Then I googled it and got this:
Fans of progressive, jazz-inflected Florida death metal band Cynic expect the unexpected. Without the proper perspective and background, however, Cynic’s latest official release The Portal Tapes, could take even diehard Cynic fans by surprise — especially if they’re expecting loud guitars and frenzied, elliptical beats.
Here’s the thing: The Portal Tapes was recorded in 1995 after Cynic broke up. The short-lived band, Portal, featured Cynic frontman Paul Masvidal, Cynic drummer Sean Reinert, and bassist Chris Kringel. Soured by the homogeneity and herd mentality of death metal, Masvidal and Reinert strove to preserve the atmospheric and jazzy elements of Cynic without all the noise. So they recruited wraithlike vocalist and keyboardist Aruna Abrams and recorded a textural rock album informed by jazz acts like Allan Holdsworth and ethereal pop performers such as Kate Bush.
As pleasantly meditative as the music is, The Portal Tapes is hardly metal, and only hints at the sonic accomplishments Masvidal and Reinert would make when they reformed Cynic in 2006 and created the astonishingly spiritual, airy, yet metallic Traced in Air. That being the case, The Portal Tapes is an interesting time capsule, marking a moment when the pair abandoned their roots and stretched their wings.
Oh wow.
Hey guys check out Outrun the Sunlight

That intro riff, when it kicks in. That's fucking awesome.
Not sure why you need to play with your EQ. It sounds perfectly fine to me. Maybe that's my shitty speakers, though. I don't know.
Awesome as shit, though. Thanks for sharing. Love the vocals. Gonna have to look into these guys some more.

I think it might just be the bass player/recording of the bass.

Looks like someone isn't smart enough to figure out that this band has two EPs. One that has piano and vocals. It is in fact two eoros. You'll have to pay that if you want the song As the Sea Divides. Strangely, that song is not just piano and vocals. The second EP is the one I mentioned earlier (the Reanimation EP) which is essentially free. In case you are still unable to comprehend what I just said here's a different link.
