New and young band (they're like 19/18) from Portugal.
They play some kind of progressive metalcore between Meshuggah,VoM and Parkway Drive. They only have one complete song available, they will be releasing another one when their video reaches 20k views. And they have plans releasing a full LP or EP this year.
Somewhere between Meshuggah and Parkway Drive... that can be any sub-genre of Metal.

As I was scrolling through this thread, I was surprised how nobody had mentioned The Contortionist yet. Anyway, here goes.
They're a bit more on the deathcore side but fans of progressive metal should be able to enjoy it.

They tried to be good people, that's what they did.
Fucking cops in America, something really needs to be done about their attitude.

I don't know if anyone has seen this yet. Also, dem vocals.
Used to love Spencer's vocals, but the clean vocals on the new one are kinda annoying, sound like a cheap version of Protest The Hero...
Cool song thou
I still love his vocals, I hear the Protest the Hero influence but I have no problem with it.

How can you not love this?

Posting for the first time in here just to say: Gonna see Opeth, Gojira and Vildhjarta next week at MetalTown, Gothenburg.
Gonna be fuckin' amazing, it's so close!

I usually more or less like his vocals, but not on this one. I really hope they have instrumental versions again.

They said that they are not gonna do that again, iirc.

Djent/Prog Band from Hamilton, just released debut EP for free. It's quite good, they've got a djenty cover of Break Stuff by Limp Bizkit on there :P
No instrumental for Periphery II sadly, but i'll wait for the rest of the album to judge the new vocals

I personally like the new vocals, I don't think they sound as processed as on the first album.
Also, anyone else going to Summer Slaughter this year?

It's cause they're not, only the harmonies and extra voice tracks have editing done on them, the lead vocals don't.

Quite liking this new Ihsahn. The clean vocals in the higher register sound kinda iffy though.

I like his harsh vocals, and I like when vocals sound a bit raw, but some lines of his clean vocals on that sound too off-tune for me. It's not too bad, but definitely detracting to me.
so stoked for new periphery, they said they haven't even released any of the heavy songs
Gojira's album came out 2 days ago, pretty much everything's great. Favorite album is still From Mars To Sirius though.
butts
Well, today has turned out to be a pretty fucking awesome day.

and an official Periphery II album stream betches!

I like Periphery 1 more than II :3.
Gonna give the new Monuments a listen.
Give it time. I've listened to the album thrice already. Sounded best when I was at the gym and wasn't completely focused on the music. You know what's funny? I hated Periphery when I first heard their debut. Couldn't stand it, lol.
Yeah that's just my opinion so far.
Too bad the Monuments album is not out yet.
Why? So you could say how much you don't like it? XD
Oh snap I wish I was witty like u.
But srs there EP sounds sick, so I look forward to the LP.
if anyone's into spacey-ethereal shit, Aristeia's fucking raw. i'll post their only instrumental track because that's where they shine:

They need better mixing.
well i mean, it's not like they're signed and record at a nice studio.
imo i think the rough production adds to the sound
