You took a load of my mind, thanks. I think I will resit anyway.
My mum wants me to retake english lang, I got a D. She says without a C or higher I wont get a job is she correct?
Umm, I think most university courses like you to have a C or highter in english.

university isn't a job
Yeah I,m the same just waiting for it to arrive now. Don't really care what I get as I can repeat it next year.
Got an A* in my maths IGCSE (which i did 1 year early) :D 1 down, 9 to go :P
anyone know if i can find out what percentage i got? if so, how?
also, what are UCAS points and is getting 58 of them good? :P
I got mostly Bs, a couple of Cs in subjects I didn't care about and Distinction (five distinctions and a merit) in National Certificate ICT. I got four A equivalents for specific modules in some subjects but they all got pulled down to Bs. I'm happy anyway. I can do all the subjects I chose for sixth form.

Oh, and I got Level 2 in Adult Numeracy and Literacy without failing. 75% of the students in my year seemed to fail one of those the first time. I have no idea how.
Got my results in the mail and and was surprised to find out that some results were lower than I imagined. It sounds like I'm being an arrogant bastard when I say that but I mainly say it because I completely aced the coursework, which is worth around 60%(?) in History and 30%(?) in Geography. I'm now finding out that apparently our school had an issue with the coursework and some students don't have it included in their final results.
Now I'm going to have to fuck around for a few days with the school administration and find out if anything is wrong, not looking forward to it.
I just now got into Sixth form. Will be studying Psychology, Physics, Biology and English Lit.
I'm definitely going to take Psychology, Computer Studies and English Language in Sixth Form, but I'm not sure whether I should take Sociology or Film Studies. I'm definitely more interested in film than sociology, but what would a Film Studies A-Level do for me? I'm just worried that it would be a waste. I'll try and get into it though, however it was completely full when I tried to pick it just before the open day. Some slots may have opened up since then though.

Do A-Levels that suit what you want to do for a university course or future career. I know people who are struggling to do anything because they have picked a miss match of A-Levels that have nothing to do with what they want to do.

or you could just do a-levels that you want to do unless you've got a particularly specific career path all tracked out ahead of you
I am now officially pissed off, my results still haven't came through even though results day was on Thursday and that was more than enough time to post it.

It would be usefull to do A-Levels that were related since you can borrow from other subject to add to essays for examples ect. Otherwise unless your course needs a specific A-Level no. Choose what interests you so you have motivation to complete it and do well.

I was just adding some more information to the pot :zoid: He/she might have found it useful?

I understand that but if you want to go further you are gonna have to bite the bullet at some point and tailor your subjects towards a specific goal. For a general IT degree you need to do IT/Computing A-Level and another technical or similar subject. doing IT, Psychology and Sociology won't get you into an IT degree if you so choose that path. What I am trying to say is that you need to think slightly ahead at what you want to do rather than blindly picking subjects and worrying about it later.

That's what i was saying, but if you don't enjoy the subject what's the point.
If you don't enjoy the subjects that you need to take to get you to where you want to go then chances are that you won't like where you want to go.

Not in all cases, you may want to do medicine but you have to take biology for it and you hate most of biology apart from the human anatomy.
And that is what I am talking about, you may not like it but you still have to do it and other related subjects because that is where you want to go in the future.

What about electronics? I'm not as interested in electronics as a subject than I am in film, but if it really would help as much as you say it would to have another technical A-Level, I would have no problem taking it. I have no specific career path planned, but I've been using computers my entire life and I enjoy them, so I'll probably end up pursuing IT. Maybe I should prepare for that. I could always study film in my own time. In the film industry, an impressive portfolio is likely more valuable than a qualification anyway.
Choice... choice can be a bitch.
I got shit results but I intend on obtaining great results this year, seeing how year 12 is important.
If all fails I'll continue being self employed..
So I got 11 Bs, 1 A and 1 U (I was off sick so I missed the exam)
meh, sort of wish I got more As but the fact that I got nothing lower than a B (ignore the U) is good
the A was in English literature, and the U was statistics
I'm doing a BTEC next year anyway, I know it's a shitty qualification but hopefully if I get high-full marks (which I think I can do pretty easily) then that would mean something
