I suddenly feel like fighting for Italy.
There are so many pieces that nobody uses for themes or machinimas but they would work so well.
Here's a few:
Anything from Jazz Suites Nos. 1 & 2 --- Shostakovich (yes I know)
Pines of Rome, Pines of the Appian Way --- Respighi (badass piece of music)
Planets Suite, specifically Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Neptune --- Holst (great atmosphere)
Turangalila Symphonie --- Messiaen (This would work especially well with a space or cosmic setting)
Le Festin d'Esope --- Alkan (Good for a 101 ways to do "x" video. Has an amazing ending.)
Transcendental Etude No. 6 "Storm" --- Lyapunov (Flying and/or falling)
I've got a ton more if anyone runs out of soundtrack ideas.
Holy crap Shostakovich you're my new favorite poster.
Also, fun fact: Leela from Futurama is named after Messiaen's Turangalila Symphony.

Perfect song for insane people.
Lux aeterna - Clint mansell
is the correct definition of epic

This song gets my heart going and I always have this playing on Youtube whenever I play Counterstrike or Left 4 Dead.

Great song for a huge battle.

This song, alone...one of the main reasons I enjoyed ME2 so very much.
Crysis - Warrior Reveal, by Hans ZImmer

You can just feel the dread and suspense.
Except Hans Zimmer totally didn't do that. He did Crysis 2's music however.
Any piece of music ever composed by either Hans Zimmer or Two Steps From hell, Ever.
That is all.

This and the last song, Epilogue, are the songs Hans Zimmer worked on.

They say pimpin' isn't easy. But of you listen to "The Peter Gunn Theme" with your window down and cruising down your neighborhood, you are pimpin' easy.

Ikaruga everything, and Castlevania.
Is it just me or is the type of music in OP really tiring to listen to? I mean, it works in the movie but listening to that action-packey type of orchestra it just tires me. The raw melody is excellent but when it comes to the intense parts it just gets boring to me.
And to contribute:
This is more slow, methodical music. I like it a lot. It crescendos slowly.

Beethoven - Symphony #7

God Speed You! Black Emperor - Sleep (skip to a 1 min in to skip vocals) (skip to 6.5 min to skip intro)

God Speed You! Black Emperor - Storm (I cried a little bit during this when I saw them live)

Johann Johannsson - Sun's Gone Dim (might remember this from the Battlefield LA trailer)
Yay, Beethoven's Symphony #7. Overused, but one of my favorite pieces ever.
Bear Mcreary has done some amazing stuff, mostly on the Battlestar Galactica and Caprica soundtracks.
All Along the Watchtower:

Cybernetic Life Form Node (more epic drums):

Also of note is the Tron: Legacy soundtrack. Some great electronic / percussion pieces by Daft Punk.
Adagio for Tron (high inspiration from Adagio for Strings, beautiful piece)

Also a personal favorite, Mars- the Bringer of War, by Gustav Holst. Anyone who played APB...blasting this from your car while running over pedestrians was the shit.

Imagine the following.
You're sitting in the cinema watching a movie that apparently sucks cock.
Suddenly, the ground and seat is shaking like mad as this starts:

Screen blasting with action and hot chicks. Fuck yes.
1. Map

List #2
Ysaye Sonata No. 3 Ballade --- (badass solo piece with an epic ending)
Ysaye Sonata No. 2 Obsession --- (intense with Dies Irae undertones and dark atmosphere)
Bach Chaconne --- (Another 101 ways to do "x". Variations on a theme that goes Dminor-Dmajor-Dminor)
Bach 6 Sonatas and Partitas --- (A lot of really good stuff here)
Ravel Pavane (piano version) --- (The original version of the piece. Very deep atmosphere.)
Faure Pavane (orchestral version) --- (Great multipurpose piece)
Sibelius Violin Concerto --- (Blizzard or sniper operation. Something cold and mysterious)
Sibelius Symphony No. 2 --- (Very nationalistic, and rousing)
Penderecki Polymorphia --- (Very unsettling piece. I dare you to listen to it at 2:00AM with the lights off and blindfolded.)
If you need suggestions for classical soundtracks I still have a ton more pieces for machinima or video.
I love the TRON Legacy soundtrack by daft punk. Probably my favourite on the list is here.
