Oh yes because gay people definitely know how trans gender people feel. :downs:
Doesn't matter. Suicidal=Needs help. ESPECIALLY if its over something as simple as GENDER.
Doesn't matter. Suicidal=Needs help. ESPECIALLY if its over something as simple as GENDER.
Of course suicidal=needs help. But telling someone that he's called him a moron because he's having a problem with gender(Which isn't as fucking simple as you say it is) is a dick move. You shouldn't have said anything about what your gay friend thought. :colbert:
Doesn't matter. Suicidal=Needs help. ESPECIALLY if its over something as simple as GENDER.
gender identity issues aren't simple at all, and not something to scoff at.
No camera nearby.
Excuses excuses
Freedom of speech MWAHAHAHAHA.
Its a fair cope out. As long as everyone knows that you can pull of a massive dick move. I don't care. :geno:
So we all agree OP should seek help? Thank you that is all.
ITT: Facepunch is full of phycologists. Seriously none of you know anything.
You sicko, go fuck yourself.
i think that's what he'd be doing :q:
I'm not even gonna rate you heart. If being a certain gender makes you suicidal you need help NOW. There is something WRONG WITH YOU. Might sound mean, but please get some help. If you are that depressed over something so basic as gender, you are either really stupid or have a mental disorder. My gay friend who I sent this link to called you a moron.
Such an incredibly closed minded post it boggles my mind. Gender is *not* black and white.
Generally speaking, though, the Binary Gender thing does also refer to gender roles within the society - that Men are supposed to do this thing while Women are supposed to do that thing, even though both genders are equally capable since the only requirement to do this and that thing is that you have the manipulating attachments to do so, such as arms, legs, or various prosthetic attachments created so a person who lacks said arm or leg can perform such functions. It's also the understanding that there are only two sexes/genders, and that sex and gender are basically interchangeable, and that any sort of blending of the two or even the creation of a third is somehow unnatural and wrong and is to be discouraged. Binary Gender makes you think Male=Men and Female=Women, when that's not exactly the case. Now, as for the specific aspects across the gender divide... Women are nurturing and expressive of their emotions and tend to fall apart in a crisis, Men are more authoritarian and rarely express emotions but maintain a cool head in a crisis..... That sort of crap. Not just that women should be homemakers and that men should be the source of income, but shit like Men think and Women feel. Stuff that basically tries to create a comparison/contrast between the genders and show how they're different when the only real difference is the levels of hormones (not the hormones, mind you, 'cause both genders get a dose of the same stuff) and a couple of physical traits that can be rattled off on one hand. I mean, you *can* make a case for how hormone levels affect your emotional responses to things and your ability to control said responses, but in US society at least, that tends to be used to describe situations that only exist due to cultural pressures to be a certain way. The whole "Men don't cry except when their team wins The Big Game or when Old Yeller dies" thing is complete bullshit. Having more testosterone doesn't make you incapable of expressing emotions. It pretty much comes down to the notion of : Outside of the physical characteristics (Penis! Vagina! Thigh-to-hip-to-waist-to-shoulder ratios! Tits! Inseminating eggs! Carrying to term and birthing! Breast feeding!) and hormone levels, there are certain roles and responsibilities that it is only right for a Woman to perform, and others that only a Man can perform. Even if the differences are acknowledged as being cultural, they're still treated as right and correct and deviation from them is seen as wrong and incorrect - such as some of the shit that Stay At Home Dads get put through, for example, or how a woman couldn't possibly be an effective CEO unless she had a team of competent Men under her (hah!) to give her advice that her otherwise womanly brain wouldn't think of on it's own... that sort of thing.
Or, to put it another way.
Here's a "diagram" I made a few years ago, titled Genderspace, to illustrate my perspective on the binary gender distinction. Blue is for boys, red is for girls. :) Image But I guess I should throw in some greyscale ones (and maybe some other colours) for people who don't identify with anywhere on that spectrum.
Not. black. and. white.
I feel quite the same as OP.
sexchanges dont chnge much-- learn to be at peace with yourself. Take up meditation and eat some hallucinogenic mushrooms, you might see things in a better way.
