[QUOTE=Tabarnaco;28824171]Re-tagging an old progressive album, do I use the original or the re-release name considering the re-release has 4x as many listeners on last.fm and the original name isn't even mentioned in most places? And inconsistency across websites is fucking annoying because most of the tracks have accented characters and every site I see has a differently-written track list. Ah, finally found a picture of the track list.[/QUOTE] What album is it?
I'm craving some music like: [media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-Mh1K5-VSQ[/media] And no, not Metallica. I want some classic infused in metal, like Pachelbel's Canon Rock.
[QUOTE=CoolCorky;28824965]What album is it?[/QUOTE] Magma by Magma, it was renamed Kobaïa. 70s French progressive rock in a made-up language, apparently. I'll listen to it in a bit. This is the Wikipedia page on the language: [url]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koba%C3%AFan[/url]

[media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78_loMbmKJ8[/media] Where have OFWGKTA been all my life? Also I really want to try that drink at the start
New bands I've listened to today: Audioslave, Devin Townsend, Agalloch, HORSE the band, Math The Band. It's been a good day for music, here.
All great stuff :buddy: [url]http://www.lctm.entadsl.com/scripts/tasteyear.php[/url] This is a cool app. Facepunch has the BBCode disabled for it so you can just scroll through the albums and years on this if anyone wants (They won't) [url]http://www.lctm.entadsl.com/scripts/tasteyear.php?usr=mikeyt493&type=overall&max=50&year=2007&data=10060910xXxX06xX090808xX09xXxXxXxXxXxX06xX0708xX980909xX050706100397xXxXx[/url]

Why is music fucking awesome?
Need to listen to more Devin Townsend and HORSE actually, since they didn't really leave much of an impression. Math The Band and Audioslave were insta-love and I really like Limbs by Agalloch, so I wont forget about them.
[QUOTE=proch;28826220]Why is music fucking awesome?[/QUOTE] because it makes my balls tingle like I have testicular cancer
Devin's stuff is something that grows on you, for sure. [editline]26th March 2011[/editline] [QUOTE=strayebyrd;28826264]because it makes my balls tingle like I have testicular cancer[/QUOTE] In the absolute best way.
[QUOTE=mikeyt493;28826267] In the absolute best way.[/QUOTE] there's a bad way? other than the time when it actually turns out to be ball cancer

But all their albums follow the same story and it's impossible to follow unless you look it up online. :v:
with out music, the world will be a lame place
Meh, I've been on music binges before stopping for months, there's more to do in the world than that. For instance I'd have more time for movies if it weren't for music. But I guess music is a part of movies. :v: Yeah actually without video game and film music it would be pretty lame.
Could someone post the big smug? I need it for something
[QUOTE=Camp er Joe;28826407]with out music, the world will be a lame place[/QUOTE] it'd just be dads and homework ewwwwww
Think of all the hallucinogenic drugs that would go to waste without people like Hendrix and Morrison to have implemented them musically, they would just be used to see the moon worm for no reason.

I went on Chatroulette with my guitar and this image: [media]http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/6381/chatroulettew.png[/media] Most people skipped over me, but this one guy was really nice, and he sat and listened to my music, no matter how horrible I played to make him leave. :patriot: That man made my day. :3:

[QUOTE=Tabarnaco;28825105]Magma by Magma, it was renamed Kobaïa. 70s French progressive rock in a made-up language, apparently. I'll listen to it in a bit. This is the Wikipedia page on the language: [url]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koba%C3%AFan[/url][/QUOTE] Listening to it now. Doesn't sound like anything I've heard before. I don't even notice the tracks changing. I read an interview and apparently the guy who thought this up was high and watching a movie while listening to a record. :v: It basically follows the story of a future world where some humans move to another planet, Kobaïa, because theirs went to shit, and what happens to them (though of course nobody understands the lyrics). The band wants you to think of the music as a "spiritual experience" or something like that. It's pretty chill. I would recommend it. Just keep an open mind. It's labelled progressive rock, tagged psychedelic rock and even krautrock on last.fm, but it sounds very unique. [editline]26th March 2011[/editline] They created a genre. [url]http://www.last.fm/tag/zeuhl[/url] What the hell. Zeuhl (Pronunciation: zEU(h)l) means celestial in Kobaïan, the constructed language created by Christian Vander. Originally solely applied to the music of Vander’s band, Magma, the term zeuhl was eventually used to describe the similar music produced by French bands, beginning in the mid-1970s. Although primarily a French phenomenon, zeuhl has influenced recent avant-garde Japanese bands. Zeuhl typically blends progressive rock, symphonic rock, fusion, neoclassicism, aspects of rock in opposition and vocal elements of African-American spirituals and Western military call and response. Common aspects include dissonance, marching themes, throbbing bass, keyboards including piano, Rhodes piano, or organ, and brass instruments. And apparently it puts people in trance.
whoa, they should give us the option to keep youtube like this. i get more into the videos I'm watching
