If I want to free run I usually just play Mirrors Edge or Assassins Creed

Free running or freerunning .
Is there a difference between the one with the space and the one without?
I do Parkour with a friend of mine. Not a whole lot of places to do it, but it's a hell of a lot of fun anyways.
And you can't be 100% free-running or 100% Parkour, you're going to implement elements of both in either practice. In free-running, you will obviously be using vaults in such Plain Jane occasionally, and in Parkour, at some point you will probably do something or change up a move in such a way to look cool.
If you guys really want to learn about Parkour/Free-Running, I would recommend americanparkour.com, even if you're not from America. There are great people there, and plenty of good tutorials.
didn't you already make a thread like this
[editline]30th December 2010[/editline]
oh no it's just a bump
HARDCORE PARKOUR
/c
I got rated Boxes cause I did not know 80% of facepunch are fat asses who won't get up and do something =/.
Or because this is a dumb thread, and parkour is a shit "sport"?

Longboarding is ten times better.

Hurr my sport is better than yours.
Grow the fuck up.
We are rating you boxes, because people actually die from this shit.
bahahaha that looks gay as hell
You're right, jumping off walls is better.
most people who obsess about parkour aren't even in good shape, odds are 3 quarters of them can't even hop a fence
We are rating you boxes, because people actually die from this shit.
you must've played too much mirror's edge
free running is not running on roofs, you can get hurt, but you are very unlikely to die
yes well done, freerunning is adapting your own style with flips n stuff... its not the same as parkour, parkour is using your environment from point a to b as fast and safest you can....freerunning is just adapting to your environment n stuff, i did parkour only until i started to trick, then realised that its better doing free running :)
"hhey guyz im a brakedanckser BUT IHM ON THE ROOF istn thet COOOOL"
I always thought parkour was getting from Point A to Point B in the most creative way possible. But apparently that's free-running and parkour is getting from Point A to Point B in the fastest way possible.
I'm glad that's cleared up.
Also, does that make traveling by plane a form of parkour?
Since it's getting from Point A to Point B in the fastest and safest way possible.
Free running is prancing around like a queer socially awkward modern-day interpretive dancer
Parkour is everything you described without the creative part.

I have nowhere to do it, really. Downtown is all floral features and round water fountains. My house has a few objects that I've practiced on, and my school too.
And I hate round objects.

on the internet*
it's 4 fifths in real life :v:
alt stop stalking my fucking posts god you're like a child
Mirror's Edge != IRL
so what, your just telling me?
OP actually surprised me since he is one of those rare instances where someone actually gets the difference between parkour and free running right.
I live in the suburbs. Not really any place I could do it.
OP just played Mirror's Edge then jumped off a 3-foot wall and did a roll on his blubbery belly and claimed he's good at free-running.
fuck
i need to kick anything i try and practice on
there was a bout of dryness for once so i thought id try and practice
i monkey vaulted over some rusty old propane boiler which was in my garden (I don't know why I didn't question it) and it fucking fell over
with my hands on it
I'd love to get into freerunning except I live on a military base and apparently the areas just outside the base aren't the safest.. and i'd rather go somewhere that's within walking distance.

[editline]31st December 2010[/editline]

i'm an idiot
That and you've apparently never heard of proper punctuation.
hoo r yoo?!!?1/1/
I'm sure everyone is free to run when they please unless theres a sign that says not to run which is unlikely

thats me lol, been training a year and a half :) love the sport and wouldnt know what to do without it tbh
Ya Only good place here to free run is in Down town and that is like what a 1 hour walk. Damn, I wish I lived in Georgia or Newyork!
Where do you live at?
Shit OP by the way.
Dude parkour is a freaking THRILL! I love parkour, even though im very new and dont know many tricks or anything, but i still love doing it, training for it and every thing. Its a very usefull thing to know incase of emergency to. You never know when itll come in handy!
To be honest i kinda agree with the OP about facepunch being fat asses :/
ps. My whole body is sore everytime i do parkour seriously.
I remember this thread.

Why did you bump an old thread and ask a banned user a question?
