We are also the fattest country in the world...
Wait, Why am i proud of this?
You can come stay at my place up in Queensland mate. Just watch out for Gumby, he's a possum we raised who has mental trouble. Once attacked kids playing in the street...
But he's harmless if you stay out of his way.
I was thinking of moving to Australia or New Zealand after I've been to uni, my Mum is from Canberra, so I can get a passport, so no work visa! :buddy:
Go ahead, cause I'm going to New York. Fuck Australia, fuck Julia Gillard, fuck the internet

Move to Melbourne instead.
Also, if you voted "no" then you don't live in Australia.
Or you live in Adelaide.
Were full. Even if you get in we'll just ban you.
With a phone.
Nah, you just need to use a country code. If someones mobile number is 0430 xxx xxx then it would be +61430 xxx xxx. Atleast I think that is what it is.
hey you leave adelaide alone we're still cool
Even Darwin is cooler than Adelaide.

You've gotta do a whole bunch of bullshit with codes for any number that is outside of your country, too.
Look it up.

Adelaide drivers are terrible.

Well, the number was given to me in this format : xxxx+xxxxxxxxx .

right now that just crossed the line mate, even for a joke. i don't want to hear that comparison ever, ever again. i mean, darwin's got yobs and shit - adelaide doesn't have enough people to BE yobs, so THERE
I suggest any other place than Sydney. Mainly because Sydney has the most dangerous spider there.... the funnel web spider, and it's like the only place in Australia it's located.
Well, the number was given to me in this format : xxxx+xxxxxxxxx .
The first 4 should be +61430 and the rest as normal.
[editline]14th November 2010[/editline]
I think.

Might as well just stay the fuck away from Australia altogether, then. Everything here kills you.
Also, Darwin is hilarious. It has something like 125,000 people.
Pretty old but here are the statistics for Australia.

The life expectancy for males sure has dropped since then.
Seriously, if you ignore politics and shit, and think you can handle the significantly more expensive stuff (video games, computer hardware, and other stuff, e.g. a $250USD guitar from a US store will cost about $600-800 in Australia, regardless of the exchange rates), Australia is a great place to live.
The meat, fruit, and vegetables available here is also some of the least processed and freshest in the world - that is, if you actually cook your own food. The junk food is still probably the same as anywhere else.
The climate, if your moving to Sydney, where I live, can be a bit unpredictable, but it gets pretty warm in the Summer (easily 30+ degrees Celcius), and fairly cool in the coldest parts of Winter (it won't snow ever though). You'll get plenty of sun and the beaches are awesome in Summer though.
Oh, and I think the internet in Australia is good enough for most people. I can live without streaming HD videos and stuff, and there are enough Australian servers in most popular games to get a decent ping anyways. Unlimited (literally no limit, no terms and conditions bullshit) bandwidth plans are coming out too with a few ISPs, although they are a bit expensive at the moment.
Heh, I live in sydney too :3:

darwin has a tropical climate, cool wildlife and cheap trips to asia. It wins hands down.

probably due to shit statistics for aboriginals
Im surprized at the amount of people who think OP is going to contemplate whether he will move to a foreign country based on the price and censorship of video games. OP here's what you need to know. Everyone that voted know on the poll doesn't live in Australia. It may have it's faults with some government issues and the price of living being higher then other countries. But cities like Melbourne and Sydney have been voted the most livable in the world. There is a fantastic climate. Most Australians are usually very friendly. We have a huge sporting community if you're interested (Melbourne alone has over 5 stadiums for different sporting events). The general environment is fantastic. My only problem is the drought. But thats really only affecting Victoria and NT at the moment.
[editline]14th November 2010[/editline]
Also if you're a clean freak. Tassy (which you shouldn't move to) has the cleanest air in the world. Melbourne has the cleanest water in the world.

So wherever you move, you win.
