• The U.S. are drifting towards fascism

The OP doesn't understand that trending towards something doesn't make it inevitable. Habeus Corpus was suspended in The Civil War and again in the First World War. Entire ethnicities, regardless of patriotism or loyalty, were rounded up by the government in the Second World War and placed into internment camps. Their possessions were sold off for war funds, and the media wasn't allowed to report pro Nazi or pro Japanese stories. The fight against sexism, racism, bigotry, etc. is at it's farthest point in US history and continues to move forward; Obama recently signed more legislation supporting womens workplace rights and, despite jokes to the contrary, the vast majority of the US does not see women as second class. Accusing the US of rampant racism is simply absurd. On the subject of NPR, how is defunding a source of media taking us closer to nationalizing the media, exactly? You're great at taking things to an unbelievable level. Can anyone name some serious grievances against the NSA, or is it just a vague hatred of it because it was established under the Bush administration and is involved in the war on terror? "Giving a finger to Union Rights" - most Americans despise the Unions regardless. They're horrible, corrupted, bloated organizations that long ago lost their way. Not to mention, the US has a pretty storied history of attacking Unions. This is no sudden trend. Once again, defunding NPR is not suppression of intellectuals or arts; that's an incredibly absurd jump of illogic. Voting to continue the war in Iraq (you can not lay the blame for this squarely on Republicans either, because that implies only Republicans voted in favor and none against.) implies that the only reason anyone would want to see the Iraq war to completion is for the implementation of a fascist dictatorship.
It doesn't really get much done, tbh, and it's the vehicle of the Patriot Act, which we dislike.
"Giving a finger to Union Rights" - most Americans despise the Unions regardless.
Unions, past the 50s really, became very different from their roots, and union leaders became poor. I agree. But they are necessary.
union leaders are like... not even important they like... dont even matterrrr
What the fuck are you saying? Do you even live in the US? Public schools and most politicians HATE the military, and it disgusts me. There is enough redtape in the military to sink a fucking ship. Our guys in Afghanistan are getting torn up because they have to ask for permission to fire at terrorist scumbags using human shields. Hell, I watched a documentary and it's amazing to see them ask for airstrikes and 90% of them get denied. Obama in his first speech called for a fucking "civillian national security force." Oh, not to mention he ordered air strikes in Libya without even asking Congress. The new health care shit is socialist. Now, I'm not a diehard conservative, but I find that if any other president (ie the scapegoat of all the world's problems, Bush) was in power other than Obama, they would be getting ripped on by the media. But no, not Obama because he is just perfect isn't he! It seems as though anyone who disagrees with him is called "racist." And I'm tired of the whole of the US being made into fat racist rednecks. The US is drifting towards Communism, not Fascism imo. Yeah, rate me dumb you cunts who hide behind the monitor without even giving your input.

Towards fucking Communism? You cannot be serious here. Even after how hard Obama has tried to appeal to Republican and seem fair, you have the audacity to claim he's pushing America towards Communism? The health care bill isn't Socialist. A single-payer system nationalized system would be Socialist, so clearly you don't know the meaning of either Socialism or Communism.
See: most of the international affairs the U.S. have decided to take care of, the point of view of most American citizens on the ongoing Japan nuclear affair (it's payback for Pearl Harbor! :downs:)
Sorry but i couldnt take the rest of your post any seriously after reading this ahaha you are such a sod Basically, you're a presumptive sausage bean if you think that most americans support thinking that way about the earthquake in japan And archangel shut up you're a condescending canadian
I don't think have an " Obsession with national security ". I believe/hope Obama is gonna lower our defensive budget as soon as the "war" is "over". There are 2 things to know about politics. NUMNBER 1 You don't touch social security or medicare. NUMBER 2 You don't cut defensive spending during times of war. I would like to see our biggest expense be reduced by 100 billion at least and 200 billion at the most for time being. It would be great if there was a plan to mildly decrease the budget.
Yeah, rate me dumb you cunts who hide behind the monitor without even giving your input.
Even if the health care plan was socialist you cant go and automatically say socialism is dictator communism.
yeah the United States is totally like fascist and stuff because Bush, he like, is like Hitler you know, an evil mastermind and everyone in America was like, a Nazi for supporting his evil regime This thread makes my head hurt on so many levels
We're going more towards Socialism, if you ask me. I don't just blame the Republicans, I also blame the Democrats as well. Both parties are just there to make the other look bad and constantly at each other's necks. I would personally like to see both parties kicked out of Washington for good. But unfortunately there is not a strong enough alternative to their place and I think both parties are doing whatever they can to make sure there isn't any. There should also be a law that forces you to vote or makes it so if you do vote or you get paid to vote. because it's BS how many people in this country don't vote. Also most of our politicians are isolated from society for so long, they don't know the price of something like milk.

and you know who was also fascist.
Heh, I was listening to Year Zero when I clicked on this thread. :v:
Sure it's drifting towards it, but it will never be facist. It's also drifting at communism, but that will never happen either. I like America as it is, if you try hard enough to can really succeed.
I'm not American, so I might have a wrong view of American politics, but they seem to be rather shitty. I don't think the US is drifting towards fascism, it's certainly drifting towards something, but not fascism. (and not communism either)
Fascism is when the corporatism meets the military
